  • Yes, horses often stand like this, but come one guys... look at his joint! It's obviously overbended and not in a good condition.

  • @decesive01 The ASPCA does their best to stop animal obuse!Do u watch their show?I bet u don't

  • AWWWW :(

  • I have my own horse ad to see a horse in that shape

  • I cried

  • Many off the track racehorses do come off with a soft tissue or a joint injury. Many receive care while racing, if they're making enough profit. The treatment is called hyalauronic acid, and it basically cushions the joint until it can make its own fluid. They're now treating humans with hurt knees with HA in order to provide them with comfort. The treatments are expensive and most horses don't get the top of the line treatment.

  • Horrible :( et il continue a travailler dans cet état?

  • this is nothing but slavery!

  • @HeatherS1723 I have NEVER seen a horse rest its hind leg like that. On the tip of the hoof yes.

  • @JenniferEEU then u never see a horse before!

  • @terrorizerr1 Uh I worked with horses for the past 3 years hands on in a Therapy barn that gives lessons to people with disabilities.

  • "There is no excuse for animal abuse".

Just a thought that crossed my mind: "Could I find as many protest video's against New York homeless and abused PEOPLE?"

  • how is this not illegal???? i'm truly disgusted, its clear this horse is not only physically ill, but mentally broken as well, and clearly exhausted. It should just be illegal, even with the new regulations clearly most of these horses live a horrible life, and are abused. I'm not watching any more videos, i just can't handle seeing these things, i landed here by mistake. For the owners of these horses, get a real fucking job, a job that does not entail torturing animals, sicko.

  • ORTHOPEDIC DISSORDER !!

First of all horses can't have an "orthopedic dissorder" that is a human condition

Secondly...What a crock, the horse is at rest, horses often stand on three legs.

You wankers have no clue, a lot of aggression, but no clue.

Keep it up, keep making stuff up, everytime one of you opens your mouth....diamonds fall out. ha

By the way, kiss my Irish ass

  • @StopLiesSeeTruth The Irish moron Frank Rodden is making this way too easy. Hey jackass - first of all learn how to spell - it's disorder you illiterate animal abuser. Second of all - yes horses can have orthopedic disorders. You are dumber than I thought. An orthopedic disorder is a general term for any disease of the skeletal system including the joints. I thought you actually knew something about horses. Oh right, you only know how to abuse them! Drunken idiot.

  • @nyc4animals So if someone cant spell right, she/he is animal abuser?

(altough i must agree, this poor horse seems to be in really shitty condition, thankfully in ouer country horses are not allowed in city)

  • Why in gos name are we donating to the ASPCA when they are either BLIND, GETTING PAID OFF, or just DON"T CARE! My funding has STOPPED from this point on!

  • @thedrafthorse The great thing about being moderator is that I get to ban certain animal abusers like Christina Hansen from this site. Bye bye Christina.

  • this is pathetic what has this world come too:'(

  • This is horrific, theres nothing natural or normal about the leg that that horse has cocked. Horses do cock their legs to rest them often, but this is not how they do it. Theres evident neglect here. Its painful to look at. :(

  • :(((( POOR THING!!!

  • aw that poor horse it breaks my hart:'(

  • @bluestarequiculture OMG - are you serious?! Christina Hansen please stop posting your bullshit rhetoric here. We know all about you and your pathetic lies that you cut and paste on every blog just like your friend with the many aliases does. This is the youtube sight of Win Animal Rights. We protest the carriage horse industry every Sunday in NYC. You and your fellow animal abusers are not welcome here.

  • @bluestarequiculture LOL! You can't be serious posting that here.

  • i will be visiting from honolulu next december to honor the fallen of 9/11. i hope nyc can do away with horse-drawn carriages by then; if not, what can i do to help?

  • I have a horse and a friend has 3 horses here at the house. My TWH sometimes rests a rear leg like that but the curve of my horses leg is normal. It does not appear deformed as this horses leg does. Something is definitely wrong.

  • @misscpra2010 I am not a member of PETA, or a vegan or whatever- I live on a farm, I have horses. Just the words you use "horse industry" tells your story. Starving horses are not going to slaughter, perfectly good horses are going to slaughter. There is nothing wrong with horses working. But they deserve to be treated with respect, humanity and compassion. Give them a break literally!

  • If I saw the horse off walking on the street I would call the Humane Society I'm an investigator. Shame I'm not in the city NY anyway. Can't say until you see the horse lame the carriage moving. A video would be taken and the horse would be off the street

  • they treat them like trash in Atlanta also

  • This is so sad, his spirit is broken. Horses don't belong in the city. And their hooves must ache after being on concrete all day long. =(

  • very sad! You can tell he is not in the best of shape just by the way he is standing... he looks exausted and just wants to stop... I would be tired, in pain and want to stop too if i was luggin his fat ass around everyday....

  • this really pisses me off why doesnt someone knck tht fat fufk out

  • It is very obvious that this horses is in PAIN! This should be a criminal offense.

  • hahahha the only ones yelling at anyone are you guys.. as for the fetlock he is resting pure and simple and if anyone knew horses in the slightest you will see any and all of mine out in the pasture doing the same thing.. find something worthwhile to actually fight about will you...

  • @vinlee12 Ahh, another moron who thinks he knows what he is talking about because he owns and probably exploits some horses. Vinlee or whatever your name is: this horse is not exhibiting the normal patellar locking mechanism in which the patella locks and allows the horse to maintain most of his weight on one leg whilst he rests the other. My guess is you must be a fellow horse exploiter like your carriage driver comrades if you felt the need to post this here.

  • @nyc4animals oh dear...while I do own horses, I certainly do not condone any cruelty of any kind, dont make assumptions.. yes horses can lock their joints what do you think the supporting leg is doing...if it suffered a disease it would suffer in all the joints not a single joint, and if there was any pain at all, it certainly would not being able to flex it to that extent..

  • @vinlee12 If you don't condone cruelty of any kind then why are you so vocally and in such a condescending manner condemning what we are doing? Actually you are incorrect - a horse can have an injury of a particular joint or tendon and not have an issue in the other joints. Where did you get your degree from doctor?

  • @nyc4animals The overseeing vet has already diagnosed this horse with a tendonitis at the very least so I suggest you take your foot out of your mouth and learn not to be so outspoken about things you don't know. If you judge people who are trying to speak out against cruelty then you should be prepared for a response.

  • @vinlee12 - the horse obviously has issues with swollen hocks probably due to arthirists....front feet need some farrier work....too wide and beginning to pan.

  • @vinlee12 There is much these poor horses have to endure while working the streets, not only in New York but in towns and cities world wide - there is no need for the HA HA HA !!! Having horses and ponies, I do agree that this is how horses stand to rest - we did not however see it walking so seriously, this horse needs to be checked, just in case !

  • @vinlee12 OK... a few things here... 1. YOUR AN IDIOT!!! 2. Horses dont rest their fetlocks like that!!!! Why dont you and your "intelligent" self and Google "Horses resting their fetlocks" and tell me what you find! Alright?? ALRIGHT!

  • @vinlee12

We will continue to fight this I assure you

  • One of the saddest things about NYC. Over the protests of many animal lovers, this industry continues. Gradually we are making headway, though. The city has toughened regulations regarding the horses working hours, working in extreme hot and cold. One day, these carriages will be a thing of the past. In the meantime, if you come to NY, please see Central Park the way the natives do - on foot.

  • What is wrong with these people? Sharing to Facebook.

  • OMFG! Why would anyone choose to be pulled by that poor animal. Sick people, how is there nothing being done to stop them?? Surely there is someone in authority who can take that poor creature of the street and get help for it, and lock up the monsters who are working it!?

  • Firmada petición... Malditos bastardos que usan indiscriminadamente como carruajes, cargas, etc... alos inocentes caballos...Malditos sean!!!... No ven que ellos no nacieron para llevarnos de un sitio a otro?... Caminen cabrones....

  • let the horse abusers pull the carriages, we'll see if they still like it then...

  • who do we report this to?

  • steal it! poor pony :'(

  • Those friggin horse abusers all look like mean clowns. Thanks for keeping on the case of animal slavery. You know they don't love these animals, which is extremely sad. Abusive users is all those people are. Stupid laws allowing this!!

  • Poor baby =(

  • SO sad!!!!!!!!
