This was kinda a stupid ending, you can obviously see the connection between the two. Akane with little character development, its like as if they was messing with our minds with the past episodes of kurokami. Like there bonding was nothing but a frail piece of artwork waiting to be thrown away. Also Kuro being in the earth realm shouldn't have nothing to do with the dopoliner system, as you should know it was mosogami free will to use the dopoliner system. They were throwing stuff out there.

At least they kept each episode similar. There is no such thing as a perfect happiness in this anime. There has to be a sacrifice... I'd say that's the theme of kurokami.

This is by far one of the most disappointing endings I've ever seen. I just feel so unsatisfied with it. Episode 22 made me cry more than 23 (crap is that just me?) ...:):(

There are still unanswered question. One, what happen to that other Keita Ibuki who is a root that escape from Daichi Kuraki. Second, what happen to the master roots people that Daichi Kuraki have in the ending of episode15. Also, I watched the KuroKami OVA. What Excel and her new partner going to do in there adventure at the end of the OVA?
I don't think Kuro and Keita would make that great a couple. Their relationship is more than that of romance, they are bonded together as one. That would be kinda weird if they married. Besides, Keita and Akane seem like the childhood happily ever after couple. It fits better to give the story a happy ending. Now all three of them are happy, instead of just Keita and Kuro. Besides, I don't think Kuro and Keita ever loved each other like that.
oHHH MY fricken god...this anime was the shitzzzz, except I really wish Kuro and Keita stayed together...also this episode 23 was retarded, I thought it show more of Keita and Akane's life afterwards..but no it just does a recap,....gahhh at least Keita and Kuro didn't end up killing each other afterwards to stop the Doppiliener system, but still yet this ending was tragic...ahh so stressed to the fact that Kuro didn't age one bit compared to Keita...I thought they should have died together!!

@jtmoney091, something about this anime just got to me, idk. It is amazing. The ending did upset me, like they could of made it better. Even though I think that it could have been better, this ending seems the most appropriate for this anime due to the storyline. Idk. Maybe its just me. just as a heads up for all who are sad (as am i) that kieta and kuro were never together, they have there mental connection still. as well i dont remember what ep but kuro told him that she wouldnt let her self pass until he had lived his life and passed so she (an assumption of course) didnt last long after he did. im sure the pain of everything brought her down. and something else to think on is they may have met in the after life.

@jtmoney091, something about this anime just got to me, idk. It is amazing. The ending did upset me, like they could of made it better. Even though I think that it could have been better, this ending seems the most appropriate for this anime due to the storyline. Idk. Maybe its just me. Like maybe that is how it was supposed to end, it couldn't have been any better and more emotional than this. But maybe.

DAMN YOU SQUARE AND SUNRISE! WTH Akane was annoying me through the whole season. Why is it when anime gets to have an ending they choose one where they leave fans wanting to slit their throats. At least it was not a mindf*ck ending.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! I WANTED KIETA TO END UP WITH KURO!!!!!! Not fair -_-. Anyway two good things about the ending are that Kieta died of old age after leading a happy life and the last and only person he said goodbye to in the end was Kuro. Hahaha, take that Akane!!! He spent his last moments with kuro and not you, yeah! That made me happy ^_^ All in all, good anime I couldn't stop watching it. IT RULES !!!!!

just as a heads up for all who are sad (as am i) that kieta and kuro were never together, they have there mental connection still. as well i dont remember what ep but kuro told him that she wouldnt let her self pass until he had lived his life and passed so she (an assumption of course) didnt last long after he did. im sure the pain of everything brought her down. and something else to think on is they may have met in the after life.

Im happy for Akane and all, but really Keita should have been with Kuro. Akane did a lot for Keita but Kuro was the one who really got him through it all. Anyway great anime. Ending was ok, wonder about those poor grandchildren.

Q~Q i watched the entire seriese and like it was confusing but then at the end it started to come together! but now seeing this! it brought me to tears! i mean its to bad keita and kuro could have seen each other before he passed! i mean it would have been awesome to see them face to face and finally say goodbye so that kieta can atleast see a friend he actually made before he knew about the system! uggh! why do anime's always do this to us!!!! I have to say that this ending was a total mother fucking TEAR JERKER!!!! Im also a guy saying this (No Homo). But i do have to say it was ended very well and that if they made a second season it would suck in comparison to this one. Just one last thing i have to add is this, Akane is a fucking slut and i hope she dies in a bottomless pit of unholy firey hell...and that kuro should be the one fucking his brains out...that is all.
