Obama was wrong to get involved in libya.obama is by far the worst president that we ever had. Obama had no right to help rebels out.I will make sure that history knows that NATO and obama committed terrorists acts against libya and gaddafi.god help us all.
Interventionists care not for principle, but are motivated by power alone. This is commonly translated into a desire to obtain oil at all costs. If this were not the case, sovereign states would not have been transformed into protectorates.
What a preposterous speech. Shame on you Mr. Hannan for attempting to preach the word of the Libyans. The fact that American, British and French flags are flown in Benghazi everyday justifies our intervention; and had we not intervened, those flags would never have been flown, not because of our non-interventionism, but because Gadaffi would have butchered and slaughtered the rebels - or protestors as they were back then. A 'house-to-house cleanse', he called it.
@bwobbwobbwob you sound like a typical imperialist but really you're just a useful idiot for neoconservative foreign policy makers who rub their hands in glee when they read comments like this. You claim they all wave British and French flags in Libya. Wow! Really? The flags of the former-imperialist rulers of Libya? It is a myth that flags like that are flown 'every day' in Benghazi as it is a myth that all Libyans support foreign European powers invading their country. Shame on YOU
Daniel Hannan is spot-on as usual. You have to look at benefits and reasons. If a nation goes to war, it shouldn't even be just because of a single intrusion: it should because of a serious and fundamental reason that is vital to national sovereignty. The modern trend of Western Politics has been a continued practice of world-police maneuvers and the result is nations like mine have been at war since before I was born. It's unsustainable and its contradictory to all national sovereignty.
Usual Hannan is spot on, but on this he has made an uncharacteristic mistake. How could we look ourselves in the mirror if the streets of Benghazi had been covered with the bodies of its citizens, who's only crime is wanting to determine their own future, when we stood by and did nothing. Time was pressing and we had to act, lets hope Gaddafi's inner circle falls away soon, and we don't get pulled in.
Well said, Mr Hannan. It pull on the heartstrings to learn that the only reason a British military asset was on the scene first because she was on her way to be scrapped. Disgusting.
The only problem is none of the empty suits are listening to him. Just like over here in the U.S. I need to do a little research and find out what the cost is to the US taxpayer to fly B-2 bombers from Missouri to Libya and back.
@pegw100 But Soros will never go drop a bomb or in the front lines, like a man, will he !? the veil of perception can be stretched so thin these days than he are in for a bumpy ride
80% of that oil goes to Italy, not America nor Brits nor France...so as my friend bellow pointed out: Since Obama got us fighting & paying toward their civil war anyway, without neither American peoples' nor Congress' consent...I hope THIS TIME we actually take the fucking oil
My main concern with this intervention is simply the precedent it sets. Libya is just one of half a dozen or so countries in the midst of a revolution right now, some of which are attempting to oust our (equally authoritarian) allies.
This is going to make things very awkward in the near future as we're called upon to assist and subdue revolutionaries across the middle east. As good as it is to see Gadaffi get what he deserves, I fear we've dived in head-first without first checking the depth.
Thanks for restoring some sanity Mr Hannan. The MSM propaganda about Libya was so blatant this time that I didn't think people would fall for it but it seems they've bought it hook line and sinker.
When a bear and a mountain lion are in a fight, don't give help to either one. It doesn't matter who wins, the winner will still try to kill and eat you.
All war does is make lots of money for a few people specifically the international bankers. What if the powers that be had a war and nobody showed up. That would be hilarious. Ever wonder what would happen if everybody took their money out of their respective banks? The bankers would be helpless.
@shanepaulcoward Barry soetaro (BAZZA) aka obama two days ago said no men would be put on the ground. He also said when he came to white house that troops will be removed from afganistan and Iraq.I reckon with in a few days troops will be there.

Wrong. The rebels demanded our humanitarian and military aid long before Gadaffi even reached Benghazi to begin his house-to-house cleanse.

Dan is right. No one has the money for this. Lets send Soro's and his money over there. I am sure he can fix the problem.

The Vast and Long Trauma of WW2 in England seems to have caused it to turn Socialist.
USA Heritage is Much Different, but this is what has happened:
This YT video explains exactly why the Left can Never change: "Former KGB Agent Explains the Brainwashing of America 1980's".
45 Goals of Communists in USA were Exposed in 1963, and Many have been Accomplished.
Communist Party website lists the Same Goals as the Democrats.
