  • Oooooooooh, you had me until the reality quip.

  • @LCarlan47 Had you enjoying it or had you fooled until the reality quip?

  • @Swenglish Well I enjoyed the entire thing. It is really well made, after all. The reality quip was just a bit of a low blow.

  • @LCarlan47 It's a low blow to say that someone who thinks killing is fine because God sorts it all out anyway is a bit detached from reality? Whether you're a theist or not, I think it's pretty fair to say that The Reverend is pretty far removed from sensible.

  • @Swenglish Agreed. You win, mister silver tongue.

  • Brilliant, witty, and absolutely crazy :P Great video! Love how animated The Reverend is, sheer genus :)

  • Im Mr Dr Profeser Zebradonkey!!!

  • @alf9356 So close.

  • @Swenglish I DEMAND! you make more videos....well, its just too damn good

  • @Multimorten Stuff's being written. There's a teaser for the new series up now on this channel.

  • this is so freaking cool

  • For years, now, I've really enjoyed this entry. I think that this was miles above the others. Just recently I noticed an aural correlation between the Rev and one Doctor Steel...eerie.

  • @darkminstrel I've only heard one or two things by Doctor Steel. It's good stuff. Hadn't heard it before I made this though. But I do have a thing for combinations of the darkly sinister and the comedically silly, and I wouldn't be surprised if the man behind Doctor Steel has some of the same influences as myself.

  • This is surely the work of a genius. And clearly, genius breeds madness.

  • @abracadaverous Yes. I am a genius. /The Reverend

  • Awesome! Funny, clever, lyrical -- and slightly demented!

  • @DreamGranules Thank you, I'll tell the Rev you said that. I'm sure he'll take that as constructive criticism and an incentive to work much harder at being more demented.

  • This man has great taste in music to create this masterpiece

  • @phrogjump Yup. My taste in music is excellent.

  • lol i wanna see a musical battle against the reverend against Tur-mohel

  • @Rasenchidori Tell that to Tur-Mohel.

  • Absolutely adorable^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^HEvil!

  • Absolutely adroable.^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^HEvil

  • I saw this on Dr. horrible

  • lol :)

  • Yay! Amazing! Hehe thumps up. Mr. Swenglish

  • i saw this while i was looking up vids of my fave drummer....i just had to click it but im glad i did.

  • @bamspetretard Sweet:) Who's your favorite drummer then?

  • @Swenglish The Rev from Avenged Sevenfold :)

  • Absolutely amazing.

  • The Reverend is the best applicant the League has ever seen.

  • That's awesome :)

  • Swenglish... I effing love you! And yes I do have nice antlers.

  • @CaptantrippzMr I knew it!

  • 11 people knew what was in that jar...

  • he is the best

  • This was the best of the bunch of the ELE applications. Even the best of the others were not even close; a few didn't deserve to even be on the same disc.

  • I was watching through the Dr Horrible DVD extras. Stumbled upon this one and was completely blown away! I watched it all the way through, hit rewind and watched it again. And again. And again. I watched this brilliant performance 4 times in a row before I could move on and watch the other applications. No other application came close to this one. I had to look up the other reverend videos on the tube aswell. Pure genius. Distilled genius. Genius sprinkeld with a generous amount of Awesome!

  • @hellenstam Thank you very much for those very kind words:)

  • "Purdy Horsie?" Oh shit! Run Bad Horse run!

  • This is by far the best of the applications to the ELE. Keep up the good work.

  • only 41649 viewers? something is wrong with people

  • Still fucking awesome 2 years later.

  • This is the most genius evil thing I have ever seen in my life. You sir deserve a medal.

  • sounds like buck 65 lol

  • @juggalo9912 Haha, that's probably the best comment I've gotten on this video.

  • PURDY HORSY!!!

  • google Doe's Account.

  • If The Reverend does not get a cameo in the next movie, I will be extremely sad.

  • @onematty01 I don't think that's very likely to happen. I'd be all for it, but I don't see it happening.

  • lol i love it so much

  • This is so good!

Down with the silly hats and dresses club!

  • @buckfushes Aw yeah, get down with the silly hats and dresses club. U down? I'm down. Wait...what? Um... I confuse myself. Let's all just go be juggalos instead. Fucking magnets, how do they work?

  • @Swenglish Dude thats just low.

  • @starshipmongo Gravity will do that.

  • Brilliant!

  • this is brilliant!!!

  • mad skill dude! I wish i had the same skill. I saw it on doctor horrible sing-a-long blog and this is the best!

  • I first heard of Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog only a few weeks ago. I managed to stumble across this just today. Holy crap this blows every single other submission out of the water. Only Tur-Mohel and Lord Stabbington even come close. This is an awesome character who I honestly see as a formidable villain, yet seriously quirky, along with an awesome rap. I usually hate rap, but I can't get this one out of my head. I really hope he makes it into episode 2 or at least SOME future episode.

  • best ELE app on the DVD man. I've listened to this over and over again

  • You shouldn't just APPLY to the ELoE... you should RUN the gorram organization!

  • You have a disgusting amount of talent. Have you no shame? You're making everyone else look bad...

  • Well, I make up for it in lack of social skills. And lack of income.

  • :-(

  • true evil

  • This is my fav evil league of evil application winner :) very catchy

  • Thanks for making the mp3 available. You've made it into regular rotation in my car stereo. :)

  • whar was your musical inspiration for this?

  • @CoMa7oSe The beat was an attempt to approximate something that might sound like it could be mid-to-late '90s gangsta rap, like Dr. Dre and such. The rap was just my usual method of cramming ideas into lyrics (except this time in character), not really trying to emulate any particular MC.

  • Dude I'm seriously blown away, like, mouth to the floor speechless.

  • So did the Reverend get in?!

He can obviously hang with the likes of Doc Horrible and Bad Horse.

  • Check the Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog DVD extras.

  • My cousin bought me the Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog DVD and I found this in the special features, it was bloody freaking brilliant. Definately my favorite application, if The Reverent was in the ELE I'd be terrified. Keep it up, buttercup!

  • Fantastic. The reverend deserves to be in the Evil League of Evil! My favorite by far, none of the others even come close.

  • This is my favorite. I wanted this one to win ^_^

  • You are AMAZING my friend. I saw this on the Dr. Horrible DVD, and it was my favorite! Thanks for just...existing!

  • Thank you very much. And you're welcome also. I try to get some existing done at least five times a week.

  • Well done. Hands down (or up), you're the best of the best in regards to the Evil League of Evil.

    :)

  • OMGOSH! this is the most epic thing i've ever seen! XD btw, did u make that puppet?

  • Yes, I made everything. Puppet, concept, music, lyrics, performance, lighting, filming...

  • By far the best of all the applications. Well done, Rev.

  • I can't download the file! Please advise, Reverend.

  • Go to the link in the description. Click "albums". Go to the only "album" listed. Find "The Reverend's ELE Application" in the list, right-click the download link, click "save link as" or whatever your browser may call it. Pick a folder, and save the file. There you go.

  • It took ten minutes to turn me into a fangirl for you and your music. <3

  • Welcome. I'll try not to disappoint.

  • ......legen........dary

  • You can see the arm controlling the puppet.............. But I love this!!!! I have heard this on the Doctor Horrible's Sing Along Blog CD. I love it so much, my new nickname is Reverend. I also use it for other things like, my accounts online. Sorry if this comment is boring.

  • Purdy horsie!

Wow, Bad Horse is in serious trouble.

  • What is in the jar...

  • I'm sure it's a jar full of happiness.

  • Normally, I find I don't listen to rap or even care much for it. I listen to whatever catches my ear and this certainly did.

It really is a fun idea.

Love the lighting, puppet, movements, everything. Great job.

  • Thank you Swenglish. It's not ok for a me to be so blind as to not see it. Especially when I've read through the lyric bit 20 times.

*goes of to hide in shame*

  • Is there any chance you'd put up a mp3 or a downloadable version of this anywhere? I take my hat of to you sir, this is just awesome.

  • Kyrasis, thank you for the kind words. The link to the downloadable song is, and has for some time been, in the video description.

  • WHAT THE FAWK~ IS HE WEARING A PREIST OUTFIT?? SCARY!!

    ~Rkdancechick171

  • What else would he be wearing?

  • I've only seen a few so far, but this has been the best ELE application video I've seen so far. Original music and lyrics (well, lyrics, at least; dunno if the music is original - I'm guessing so), social commentary, puppets - what more could you want in an ELE application video?

  • Creepy song, I watched it once and now I can't stop. It's a good creepy song. The best on the DVD, but I believe a few of them come close (such as Tur-Mohel and Mr. Terrible).

  • Oh, most def! Those are my 3 favorites as well. :D

  • Also L'Enfant Terrible!

  • The best application on the DVD.

Hands down. Only Tur-Mohel's came anywhere close, and this still outclassed him by a good margin!

  • Holy Sh*it... no pun intended, sick scratch and lyrics.

  • I dont usually cmnt pplz vids but XD XD XD XD XD Great work!

  • My sister got the DVD and seeing this truly creeped me out! It's awesomely scary and funny :3 Amazing job!

  • This is my favourite application. Nice work!

  • Unquestionably my favourite, as well. Brilliance incarnate!

  • wow

  • that was awesome. Many props.

  • To be honest, I can't even imagine how you came up with some of the amazing word play in this rhyme. The intro is simply amazing. (Not to be... Miniature Minister of Sinister stuff.)

And a good poke at Catholic pedophiles is always fun, but taking the opportunity to use Bad Horse in that same joke? Priceless.

  • Thank you very much! Feel free to check out my other projects:)

  • Awesome and creepy! Congrats on being on the DVD!

  • You are a god.

  • This is the best of them. Just brilliant.

  • creepy all the way but out of 1-5 I give it a 20-5

  • where can you get the beat?

  • I got it by making it myself with my own two hands, if that's what you're asking.

  • ahahaha.

is there anywhere i can download the instrumental to the song?

  • No.

  • Aahhhh, LOVE IT!

  • Incredible!

  • Amazing.

Epic, in a very indescribable fashion.

  • Kinda fun!

  • voice sounds like les claypool

  • this is so twisted. the best of the applications by far!

  • Just to make this simple, bottom line, you...are... AWESOME!!!! amazing work :)

  • best song ever lol.

  • 8O

    thats OUTSTANDING!

  • This is the BEST submission to the ELE ever! Thanks for being awesome! :)

  • You're welcome:)

  • I. Can't. Stop. Watching. :)

  • I have other stuff too, you know;)

  • the best by fucking far

  • This is one of the first moving mouth puppets with movable eyebrows. Well done? How'd you do it, and is he a Hand-and-Rod puppet?

Very well done. Congrats on getting in!

  • Eyelids - bent metal rod thing through eyes and outside, with handle bent on inside. Eyebrows - Same metal (suitcase frame - hard to bend, not recommended, but I didn't have any wire coat hangers). I did it all wrong. And didn't have enough suitcase frame to make hand rods. But I might make 'em if I find a wire hanger. Never made a puppet before this. Watched a ton of tutorials on youtube and then just made it.

  • It looks hard, but it's not really all that hard. Just make a frame, the head, and sew on clothes unless you make the clothes as the actual body.

    Still, thank you!

  • Just saw this on the DVD, i had to come online and find it. Amazing.

  • i absolutly loved it! congratulations on getting in!

  • I love how all the elements contribute to the coolness/scariness of this video.

First of all, a scary puppet portraying a Reverend being very... "alive." (movements to the music as well as its tendency to come up close to the camera) Next, the darkness in this video keeps the puppet "evil"-looking. And best of all, the music. Well, speaks for itself.

  • This was frickin' awesome!!!! :D

  • EPIC this is bomb! i've never seen anything like this!

  • Amazing! amazing,

  • This is freakin' EPIC. The Reverend has to be my favorite.

  • My top three have got to be L'Enfant Terrible, Princess Zombie, and of course the Reverend.

  • I agree :)))

  • This was amazing, one of the best on the DVD.

  • my god man, that was creepy as hell, but epic all the same. good job mate

  • This is definitely the best application to the ELE by far! :)

  • This is frickin hilarious, creepy as heck and absolute GENIUS! Well done man, you gotta be in the Evil League of Evil for sure!

  • I love this!

  • This is a most excellent video! I have watched dozens of times, and have to watch myself to keep from muttering the words around small children........anyway, thank you!

  • This is favorite application. It is amazing. Extremely well done.

It has started a puppet craze in my house... we now have three.

  • Glad to be spreading the joy of puppetry!

  • Comment removed

  • This was my fave application on the DVD. Incredibly creepy, but in a good way.

  • this was a very well done video.

  • lol i love it do u have more

  • Yes, just click the channel and there's more. And more will come in the future, as soon as I'm rid of the problems I'm currently having.

  • Well done!

  • very good job could you do another song please?

  • There are plenty of songs on my website. As for specifically the Rev singing, he did in the "Design" vid and he'll do it again, don't worry.

  • Best one ever

  • Pastor of Muppets!!!

    Metallica should *be* so lucky.

  • I'm sorry, I don't get that reference.

  • Sorry, I should have been more verbose.

Master Of Puppets was Matallica's 3rd album, and the title track is one of their best (and best known) songs.

I was just thinking they would have been lucky to have such a creative idea as "Pastor of Muppets" to go along with "Master of Puppets".

All in all, just some random praise for your funniness.

  • Well in that case, thank you very much. Actually, the master of puppets mention was a reference to another ELE application. See youtube user AlohaJoe. I was unaware of the Metallica thing, thanks for educating me on that.

  • hey 'gratz on getting this on the DVD ^^ this is fuggen wigged dude! very Boondox-esque XD

  • Thank you for making this excellent video in all of its creepy and hilarious glory. Since I got a DVD of Dr. Horrible I've watched this many times and it's my favorite of all the ELE applications. I'm glad to hear that your computer is working, um, better since its recent vacuuming. I look forward to more from The Reverend when you have the time and patience.

  • Dude! That was creepy! And by creepy, I mean creepy. But, it was also awesome! Brilliant job!

  • Awesome. One of the better things I've heard on the internet in a long time. Very, very catchy.

  • Owned.

  • God, this is the creepiest most amazing thing. I am a little puppet-phobic, so this sorta... Heightens that, but lessens it at the same time... Just plain brilliant. kudos!

  • God Bless xD

  • very awesome man.

Your eyebrow mechenism is really impressive. i have been experimenting with eyebrows for ages. Haven't found the right way yet. again really great puppet and video

    -Mary Kate

  • I loved your puppetry very nice. Congrats on getting on the Dvd.

  • This is pure brilliance. Grats on getting on the DVD! I got the DVD for Christmas, and I was slack-jawed in amazement after this one came on. I loved it. Nice work. XD

  • awesome, with a side of wicked.

  • Hey, I looked the Reverend up after seeing him on the DVD. By far my favorite entry. Just awesome in every respect. Thanks for the entertainment.
