  • this intro is fucking epic

  • This is such a paragon of amazingly written doom metal.

  • Now that i think about it, did you sing for Subterranean Masquarade?

  • @speirszitu My vocalist Paul sang for Subterranean Masquerade, yes. I'm the guitarist, Larry.

  • This sounds a whole lot more like Subterranean Masquarade then Opeth.

  • Holy crap ...

... what else can i say.

  • like the cover background :\

  • Great tune, one of their best!

  • yea what a great voice :) -slams head-^^

  • fucking EPIC!!!!

  • This text is incredibly deep. When I read the ND book "The Wayfaring Chronicles", to see what the background of this text was, I was depperimert, it was incredible to see the strong background of the text, but also sad. Although it all ended well in reality.

After reading this, I realized quickly that the text of the "autumn reflection" is to her daughter, it's that she changed the perspective in his life...

  • ... She made him a stronger man, the darkest day of his life. I had understood it earlier, but I realized how deep and how many emotions that are added to the text. The song is to her, and she will have still have it after his death.

I love the lyrics to ND, they are so full of strong emotions. Simply profound!

  • am sorry .. you will never know me

but know , i've always loved you

    :(

  • XD Awesome!

  • such a powerful song, the singer has a really good singing voice as well, its fucking awesome metal!

  • Everybody loves to tie this in with Opeth, when this is more Doom than Prog.

  • Novembers Doom have no real subgenre. They're just metal. Doom doesn't really fit them, even if it is in their name. Their music is more dynamic and dramatic...kinda like Katatonia - whereas actual doom is like a slow, plodding horror-trip, which can actually be boring. Doom isn't generally emotional either. At least not like this.

  • However, emotion is relative.

  • Pauls growls give me chills.

  • I don't know if nvmbrsdoom5 is really from the band or just a faker, but is just awesome that they will take the time to write a piece and make a comment on the video, and the difference between them and Opeth. Guys ND are totally different they are talented they don't need to copy anybody and if you hear any similarities is from inspirational coincidence, because all bands take their inspiration from their predecessors which they like, that don't necessarily means that they copy them. ND Awsome

  • Bands have better things to do than chat on YouTube.

  • How would you know?

  • @KjetilLund

Get real. Only bands starting out in the music business bother to chat to their fans and sign shit, then they don't give a fuck as they get busier.

  • So every band become's an asshole as time goes by? Lol @ that.

  • Haha, we have plenty of time to chat with fans when we want to. While unfortunately it is true that alot of bands out there do get too big-headed to bother anymore, as muramasa said, that just isn't how we are. We're grateful for the fans we have, and for people posting videos in support of us. We've always been an approachable band and we always will be.

  • @muramasa89 Dude fuck that, if I were a famous band dude i'd chat all the time!

  • I love Opeth but they cant write anything as heavy as ND does...

  • the Grand Conjuration is fucking heavy dude...probably heavier than this easily. but yeah, both bands are awesome

  • This song is just so moving. Heavy like a lead weight and I'm in the ocean.

  • Novembers Doom has been around the same time as Opeth, well, a year earlier than opeth

  • great band, i can hear the Opeth influence. And the artwork for this album is so fantastically creepy. Plus all the songs are delivered with a voice that could quite possibly rival Mikael Akerfeldt's

  • No disrespect to Opeth, who have been friends of ours for quite a while now, but there's no "influence" from them in our music. We share alot of similar tastes and influences and as such we have some similarities & mutual respect for one another, but Opeth were never an influence. Our influences are more directly from artists like Edge Of Sanity, Grave, Pink Floyd, etc. And thankfully there's more than enough differences between us and Opeth to differentiate between the two.

  • True story. Your music is entirely different, excluding the major emotions and thoughts you want to express with your pieces. However, I love your music as well as I love the tunes of Opeth. If only there were more of your kind!

Respect, and keep up the good work!

  • @nvmbrsdoom5 Cool. Are there any other Doom Metal bands you like?

Message me some. I'de wanna know.

  • @fatfatat444 The doom bands that are/were the biggest influence on me would be Candlemass, Trouble, Winter, and Cathedral. Those are definitely my four favorites.

  • @nvmbrsdoom5 hey are u a member of Novembers Doom?

  • @nvmbrsdoom5 awsome. ill add u as a friend. i like your music much!!!

  • @nvmbrsdoom5 i just wanna say that you guys are fantastic.....autum reflection and swallowed by the moon are su*$&#$iknhut^%#hnsm.kjcn sn.......i cant even describe them!!!!!!!!!!

  • @poupa89 Thanks alot, we just finished recording our latest cd, it'll be out probably around March 2011, I hope you'll check it out! Thanks for the support - Larry, ND

  • @nvmbrsdoom5 I lol'd

  • @nvmbrsdoom5 How about My Dying Bride, would you consider them a influence?

  • @Infyra Not really, to be honest with you. Paul (ND vocalist) has been a fan of theirs for years and MDB are good friends of ours, respect them alot. But again, it's another case of both bands sharing very similar influences and going for similar vibes in our music at times. More influenced by early Paradise Lost, Trouble, Winter, Candlemass, Saturnus, etc. The bits that people think sound like MDB and Opeth in our music, is in fact due to our Celtic Frost and Pink Floyd influences!

  • @nvmbrsdoom5 How strange, this video suddenly came back? I remember our correspondance 5 months ago in private after it was removed.

  • @nvmbrsdoom5 you guys rock I'd love to hear you guys make "comfortably numb" your own, make David Gilmour proud to have been an influence

  • @nvmbrsdoom5 i am really excited to see you guys at the Macabre Holiday of Horror show at Reggies this friday! your music is phenominal!

  • @nvmbrsdoom5 Opeth's Orchid album didn't come out till 1995, and sounds nothing like any November piece. November's Doom has been at it for 23 years now. You guys might as well be saying Led Zeppelin was influenced by ACDC... Simply similar artists, playing a similar vein of music. Which would make for a pretty wicked concert too IMO = ) And Larry, I'm only responding to your post so more people see.

  • @Behemoth12391 We actually did do a few shows with Opeth back in 2001 when they came here for "Blackwater Park", was alot of fun. We've appeared on a few Euro fests with them since then but not quite the same thing. We greatly respect those guys and still enjoy crossing paths with them from time to time. Both bands coexist and respect each other, hopefully more of the fans can realise that and do the same!

  • @nvmbrsdoom5 Havent checked out Opeth lately ....but Just now checked out a few ND songs,3 to be exact & so far ....im impressed. What appeals to me,is listening to it,getting some heaviness from it & a fairly clear message ....yet not remind me of some other band. So far so good. Good stuff.

  • I used to be a huge metalhead. I've since stopped listening to it, but was just randomly reminded of this song. Its still fucking gooooooood.

  • Then you were never a metalhead. Its one thing to move on with your life and progress socially, but to give up a musical love that should coincide with being a metalhead, never happens.

  • Ah... I've missed the arrogance of the metal world.

If it suits you, then I, at one point in time, exclusively listened to metal. You WOULD know better than me. (And this song still kicks ass.)

  • the best song !!!!!!!

    thank you for upload !\m\

  • This

    is

    fucking

    AWESOME!!!!!!!
