Did a great sideways skid in a bedford 4 ton once.. was chating not paying attention then had to break hard coz of car infront.. think the brakes wher too good on the back as the rear axle locked and I whent sideways down the road for a while with many people giving me bemuzed looks..
No matter how much you put a Wolf on a Skid Dolley through, nothing is more acurate than being on Ops in extreme conditions. That's what seperates the CROWS from the Boys.
That's the point of the cage, it simulates road condition by changing the height of it to change the pressure on the wheels. Releasing the weight of the driving wheels will reduce grip and let the car into a skid, It's alot safer than putting water on the road.
Wow, that looks great! I have a LR Defender and have tried to find skid control courses for it because it is a very diffierent vehicle to control and drive than the usual for mondeos most skid centres operate. Does anyone know anywhere that teaches Land Rover skid control?
The shopping trolley lifts the wheels slightly off the ground to simulate different road surfaces for skid control, the passenger controls what type surface you're on with a control box and you try to control the skid. DST Leconfield was great fun.
in canada we dont do this.....we wait for winter:D

I think I've located the problem. I don't think it would skid so much if they removed that weird white thing underneath with little black wheels.

no that little whit thing near the wheels make it skid to train them to control a skid if it happens

no wonder modern army drivers suck arse, just do it like they did in the 1970's,

I did mine back in 2000 :), the whole bang, was probably the most interesting training I ever did in the Army lol, certainly the most fun.
I will never forget trying to race down that river bed track in the DAF 8ton chasing a corporal in a WOLF ( he went airborne on the first jump lol )
