Yes I'm surprised it's been up this long. Why oh why won't they release this material properly in a blu-ray or dvd? That way we wouldn't have to rely on youtube rips & bootlegs. I've got a couple of his concerts but they are not complete & suffer from incomplete set list or average qualiity. The material exists so please Prince, PLEASE - get together with whoever owns the rights & release it. WE WILL GLADLY PAY.

I LOVE this video. Prince keeps removing his stuff from youtube, especially this particular video. I don't think it'll be up for too long. btw I think the intro to this version (which was cut out for time) is one of the best intros to a concert version of a song EVER.

FYI to anyone that wants to own this on DVD and don't know, it's an extra on the 20th anniversary DVD version of Purple Rain (make sure you get the 2 disc 20th Anniversary version and not some other one). Definitely like this version better than the one from the official concert release...too many people onstage on that one.

They both had their strengths and both equally as talented....but my hats off to Prince for mastering all the instruments he has and for producing his own music whereas MJ had to rely on Quincy Jones a bit. But that is my opinion.

I think it's the best live version of this encore that I've found (which is why I uploaded it). Actually goes for around 17mins so cut off the opening bit where he does some brief intros and a little bit at the end so that it doesn't exceed 15mins. He doesn't seem to have his guitar - er - "gushing" in this performance.
