Tolle offers his wisdom for free. You see some of it on this page. For people who think that they need more guidance, he offers more things - things that require organisation and money, at least in the world as it is for now. I respect Krishnamurtis radical approach. But Tolle manages to reach millions of people by being less radical than him in that respect. Where is the 'restriction' / 'impurification' in that?
Also there is no need to support Tolle. Why not do your thing and let him do his?
Hello Eckhart. I know you respect the teaching of Jiddu Krishnamurti. Why dont you share his views about "organisations" and "money for spiritual content"?
The simplicity of your teaching has always been a great pleasure, but i wont be able to support you as a person anymore if the restriction of wisdom in favor of money continues.
100 dollars for 6 months subscription to Eckart TV. 70 dollars for a DVD Freedom from the world. Millions of dollars made from the power of now. etc etc etc. Jim Carrey the Tom cruise of Eckart Teachings.?
When money gets involved the innocence is lost and is no longer pure teaching.
Sure every one needs to make a living but not millions out of the desperation of people that can't find happiness in their lives
Like Eckhart says... I have a little book of the Tao Te Ching, I have many others also... but that would be quite sufficient in itself for the rest of my life as a spiritual teacher. The rest is just for the mind to cross reference and draw opinions on I am sad to say, I have to stop doing that..
I think everyone has enough money to buy one of his books (five pounds) and that is enough to become 'enlightened', as he says a high percentage of people who are free are actually in prison. The extra money spent by people is fine, and it seems a bit ridiculous to handicap themselves and there cause by subsidising its release.
I agreed with KeyTarot and what Eckhart and the Corporation is doing is benefiting humanity by awakening us and be connected to source and maintaing that connection by being present.
you have to charge people money to watch a TV show, don't you already have enough money to last more than a life time, isn't it the Ego that gets greedy for more. When you already have more than enough
The fact is that you need money in order to live in today's world so Eckhart HAS to ask money for what he does...if you think the price is too high then that's just the matter of priorities...you can't have something for nothing. There is always a price and I think the price for this is well worth paying...
they can always get one of his books...which is really all you need...there are even legal ways to get the books without paying with money(sometimes the 'price' is just asking and giving a person a reason to help you...there are always people who love to help)...and if a person is truly physically unable to get one of those books then there is little Eckhart Tolle can do about that...usually its the thoughts and beliefs that restrict a person rather than physical circumstances...
Your sense of expectation evidenced in the word "should" reveals your ego. To deny him the right to make a living from his gifts is not appropriate. I hope that your resentment goes away. Blessings to you.
I am sorry but I don't see any ego on Eckhart charging for what he does. Being a spiritual teacher is what he does for a living. Plus, 15 a month is not expensive at all.How much money do we spend on sturbucks, or drinks, or mcdonalds? Way more than that... and there is no comparison between the good that this site can do for our soul and the other things.
$15 a month multiplied by what 500,000 maybe more.
Is the intention to make money or help people, if you make it about money at this stage you close the door on a lot of people, maybe the people who need the most.
Ok let me ask u this then: were your eyes on Eckhart? Or in what he teaches? Does that demerit the truth that he speaks? He is not a god; he is just a spiritual teacher.
I'm all for the teachings I've seen the truth of the teachings for myself.
He has a very unique way of communicating the teachings to the average person. I just want it to be open to everyone who wants to see....... that's all .
it seems you want everyone to be able to access the teaching regardless of money situation. I understand that you want the teaching to reach everyone and you feel sad for those who might miss out on that. Is this right?
I really don't see how a person can't pay $15 a month for this if he really wanted to see it. if you already have access to the internet then you probably are not homeless and starving...
Ego is the one who thinks that he 'has' anything at all...You seem to have a belief that "spiritual" people shouldn't be rich or charge money for what they teach(it doesn't make much sense if you watch how much you spend on stuff that you don't REALLY need). In fact most of us have way more than we need to live a healthy life(I mean we have enough to waste time watching youtube videos...XD)
You can get The Power of Now at the library for free and Eckhart says that's all you need. In fact, he says you don't even need that. Different people have different paths. You're set already, so stop complaining. You must be complaining about something that you don't admit to in yourself.

This should be free. Supported by donations. Is consciousness trying to make a profit? I know Tolle isn't.

well not entirely, it is helpful to have more angles and points of spiritual reference

are you feeling resentful toward him because he is making money teaching spirituality? just wondering.
onebluestone 2 years ago
I'm feeling more disappointed than resentful.
it should be available to everyone not just those who can afford to pay.
His ego is back in the form of greed.
You'll never know how sorry, it makes me to say that

wow it looks like there was a whole debate that went on while I wasn't looking.
I can see how you would feel disappointed given that you value universal access of sprituality for all.
Are you feeling concerned that his asking for money might mean his greed might obscure the authenicity of his teachings?
onebluestone 2 years ago
he is authentic the teachings are authentic, it will obscure the teachings from the people who will never tune in, because of the money.
