this is okay but i have to go with the American version because i can actually feel their theme song flow through me unlike this one. but this also good...
seen as simon made american idol after POP idol (which is his own british show) im sure he would make the show for his own country first. BGT was first, THEN americas got talent, plus they'd of had to have permission of him to copy the idea.
yes pop idol was first and the idea was to have BGT first too but it all fell through so AGT was aired first then BGT a year later. (see nisha82 post below which is correct)
@MinPinGirl97 The Got Talent franchise was a British invention, with comedian and talk show host Paul O'Grady producing a pilot for ITV. O'Grady left the network after disputes with ITV, resulting in Simon Cowell, creator of the show, moving the concept to America while he and ITV sourced a new show host. ITV eventually debuted Britain's Got Talent on 9 June 2007 with Piers Morgan, Simon Cowell, and Amanda Holden as judges, and Ant & Dec as hosts of the show.
Britain's Got Talent will always ROCK ON!! It was the very first and original of the Talent series! Not to mention the opening is awesome and it makes me proud of our country! :D :D :D
You are wrong. America's Got Talent aired one year prior to Britain's Got Talent. I know this because America's Got Talent is going to start it's 4th season this year. Britain's Got Talent is only in its 3rd season. America's Got Talent started it all.
Actually they are both right. America's Got Talent aired first but Britain's Got Talent was planned long before America's Got Talent and they were even going to shoot a pilot to BGT in 2005 but the host of the pilot wasn't available so Simon moved the project to America in 2006 and then BGT aired in 2007.
The reason I say that is because even though Simon Cowell had planned this before America's Got Talent, the plan never went as far as taping and airing the show. America's Got Talent aired one year before Britain's Got Talent, so I am right in my reasoning that America's Got Talent is first. By the way, give me this one because I'll give you the Idol's franchise. I know that it started in England, but give me the Got Talent franchise. Makes us even.

Britains got talent was the first country
to have this show.
americas got talent was next, followed by australia, etc.
mostly because Simon Cowell owns all these shows. (he's british)
Joshd7243 2 years ago
No. AGT was the original. Because BGT was originally gong to be called "Paul O'Grady's Got Talent", but when he split with ITV, it was postponed.

hhahhaahahah what a load of bull shit
B.G.T was first

Look at Wikipedia. Ask Simon Cowell. AGT was the first one to be released, although BGT was intended to be the first.

I think it's an original song, not sure though. Like the X factor theme for example, it might've been made by the same guy...

BGT was postponed. America's Got Talent is technically a spin-off to BGT.
