I feel he played very poorly but that is a lot of pressure and I know with the lights and cameras rolling even pros admit to having trouble so unless your in that situation you have to give him a little slack. That being said if I was him I'd just retire or play small stakes. I saw him on The Big Game on Fox and it was straight up ugly. I'd invest the money go to college and tighten up my game.
The worst win in the history of WSOP, in fact people now use the word 'Cada' as a general term of abuse for someone who plays a BS hand and wins. He should never have won.
he will get even better.. sometimes i play a perfect game and go home broke. luck wins but if u play over time u start to realize skill outruns luck in this game. U cant lie or bluff in chess, but in holdem.....

joe cada is the shizzle, he is the bomb, he is fucking great, if you checdk his eyes when he ehld the j9 and darvin tried to semi bluff him, you can see the deep, out of boddy experience in cadas eyes, the intuition kick in, and he makes the call, so fucking awsome
@FOAMER103061 I say poker luck and donk luck are two separate things. Joe just happened to have both at the WSOP. Poker luck and skills got him to the final table, but donk luck put him on the top.
@MrEminemFan94 you cant even spell "lucky" properly so who are you in position to call him a lucky bastard? Jealous he got the luck and you dont? if so just STFU cos you are disgraceful.
No he got to the final table with huge luck outdrawing on several occasions when dominated with all in pre flop,so dam lucky i could'nt believe my eyes made some nice moves to hang in there folding tens against A bigger hand against Ivey bus still!? the youngest player to win the big 1 but by no means in the class of some of the players he bea it's about consistency, big congrats to him! But it's obvious he's a good player, but not special, imo.
To get that far in the tournamnet it takes a bit of luck and a bit of skill. As several Pro players say "what you see on TV is not real poker" real poker is grinding your chip stack up with the occasional big win.
@dulcifyfj When you play poker you are going to get lucky and other times your opponents will be the ones getting lucky. Cada was pretty successful online before the WSOP, he bought a house from his pokerwinnings. You can't do that just on luck.
He is young and still has a lot to learn, but i think he has the potential to become a great player.
yeah, Ivey really mess up when he had Pocket kings. Going all in pre-flop with with his Low- stack was a sure tip off. However, I can understand the jacks fold.
there professionals cause they play every fuckin day if i play every single day i eventually win yeah phill halmueth won 11 bracelets but guess how many tournaments he had to play to win those bracelets yeah there is skill to this game but there is way more luck to it anybody can that know how to play poker can win
He was staked by his buddies for the main event. Although hes made his fare share of money onine.. something like 500K. He was not an amature by any means
Cada was ridiculously lucky at the final table, im not going to dispute that with anyone, and i expect Cada himself would agree, but he is a very good player nonetheless and made it to the final table 90% relying on skill
Poker is a very skillful game, people who think it is all luck clearly havent played the game at all or play with other donkeys that think any hand with an Ace in it is a monster
cada came up from 2 million, and doubled up about 4 times hitting sets with his small pocket pairs 3 out of the 4 times... lucky? yes. but also skillfull to make it past day 1-8
Going as far as final table certainly needs A LOT OF luck (same for Ivey and Schulman). But it is true that both Moon and Cada made quite a few questional calls. So i would say the final heads-up was one of the weakest in recent years.
cards are all luck,,,,who can bull shit the best,,,,,,good cards beat bad,,,,,,,its simple,,,,until espn made a big stink about texas holdem......the old timers couldnt be more pissed,,,,they were all making cash,,,then tv came and took all the old timers and put em in there place,,,,,no anyone can win,,,,,get good cards and anyone can win...
dude this fuckin game is all luck there isnt much skill to this game its all about hiting ur cards if u dont hit ur cards ur not goin to win its all luck people r idiots who think there is a lot of skill to this
there is plently of skill LOL, more skill needed the luck.
you need to know when to call, you need to know who your vsing, you need to know when to bluff, you need to know how your gonna play the nuts against certain people
final table was so shitt...i expected ivey to go all the way, moon and cada are just mad luckyyyy....watching this tournament what witnessing if your lucky you'll win no matter what the percentages were going into showdown...thats not how poker should be played
Moon and Cada are total donkeys and it's a shame to see this year after year. The hilarious part is I couldn't tell who was the amateur and who was this "head's up specialist." If this is all Cada has been doing since 2003, he really should take up a new hobby, 8 mil richer or not.
Darvin Moon is the worst player I have ever seen in televised poker. He reminds me of Jamie Gold, who finds bluffing and looking like a hero more important than making money. I hope both of them start playing the big cash games and end up losing all of the money to better players who work hard for their cash
I may have been a bit hard on Cada, but watching all those suck-outs was just sick. Maybe he had a hard time dealing with Moon because Darvin plays without a logical thought in the world.
Cada and Moon played so horrendously awful they make Yang, Gold, Moneymaker and Varkonyi look like the second coming of Stu Ungar. I like at the end how they were like fuck it let's flip for 8.5 million. Saout and Shulman played the best and should have been the final two.
I'm beginning to think that poker is a big joke its the new lotto for 20 somethings.. fuck poker after watching this kid win I'm no longer interested. Phil Ivey you are so hyped, I can't believe you fold pocket Jacks. If you are the best player, obviously poker must be bullshit, which it is. GL!!
This kid was so enormously lucky. I mean grats to him, congratulations. however, if you are a poker afficionado you will think this kid just got lucky, which he did. The final table vid will be painful to watch. I feel so bad for that french guy.
interesting interviewer ... something about him makes me half-expect him to end with the question "what is your favorite curse word?" <-- Bravo viewers will get the joke...
How am I an idiot? I live in the UK therefore I get no coverage anyway, and there is no talk of this tournament where I am at all.
I follow it all soley online, and have watched all the way up to the november nine, and was hoping to find a final table video, then heads up.
So explain why I am an idiot for not knowing who the winner of the WSOP was? The title says who won, so I couldnt avoid knowing the result before finding the video I wanted.
thats uncalled for man, this guy came from playing 200 dollar buy-ins to playing the most important game in poker, which is his first time in vegas might i add. He did good for an amateur and left with 5.2million not bad at all
Cada WON!! Youngest player ever to win the final table Main Event! Man this proves that the wiz kids that learn through internet poker are taking over. 2 years in a row two internet wiz kids get the most coveted bracelet.
