Also, the first episode (the pilot) is about Ted meeting robin. At the end he goes "and thats the story of how I met your aunt robin." The kids reply with "I thought the story was about how you met mom?" and Ted says "We will get to that." Therefore, Robin is not the mother

@Instylew Well... Not to hit on your parade or anything; But many people DO agree on that Robin & Ted reminds them of Rachel and Ross.. Why? Well, the characters have a natural chemistry, and it all started with the guy wanting the girl badly...

And yes, we DO realize that the show tells that it's "Aunt Robin", and not their mother, but, that dosn't change the chemistry! + The "Ross & Rachel ending together"-ending, was their idea. I'm sure, that the writers can somehow get Ted & Robin together

@Instylew And their relationship wasn't remotely like Ross and Rachel's either. Exhibit A: Ross was in love with Rachel since ninth grade and never hinted at his feelings until Chandler let it slip. Ted saw Robin for the first time from across the bar, fell head over heels, asked her out immediately, and then told her he was in love with her after only knowing her a few hours. And the massive differences just INCREASE from there.
