Browser Wars: Opera Mobile 9.5 v. Blackberry Storm

I don't understand why you are comparing the Storm's default browser with Opera Mobile and not Internet Explorer. Opera mini on the storm is not only more than 2x faster than the iPhones browser, but it is almost as good as opera mobile as well. (just no tabs)

Excuse me guys, but since BB is basically like a mini computer in your hand with all the apps and other things you can download on it, cant you download another browser on the BB storm too? Or am I getting a little to far ahead of myself?

What do you mean the BB storm can't play you tube videos. I play videos on my BB storm everyday with no problems. Where did you get this information from. Please facts only on reviews....Thanks

I think what he means is that the BB Storm has to load youtube videos into it's own media player instead of playing it right on the site. If that's the case that's not a big deal because I think all media phones are like that.

on my touch diamond on rare ocasion it does. rare though like 1/30 videos or something.

I wouldn't download anything for the storm unless it's released by RIM or Verizon unless you want your phone to run slow or crash. Opera doesn't have a version out for the Storm yet just regular BBerry's. Anyways the phone already comes pre-loaded with internet explorer, blackberry browser, and Firefox. The blackberry browser is good but it autmoatically loads page in mobile mode. Internet Explorer sucks but Firefox works fast and loads everything in full HTML. Youtube app crashed my phone.

You're talking absolute bollocks and the reviewer disagrees with you. Opera Mobile or Opera Mini is best because Firefox isn't even in the game when it comes to mobile browsing.

Nobody said Opera Mobile wasn't good. What I said was that it didn't have a STORM VERSION out yet. Go to their website and you'll see that when you try to choose your phone model the blackberry storm is not yet available...if it were available I would definately use IT rather than Firefox...I agree that Opera Mobile is much better

On the Blackberry Storm, the browser does scale your content if you double tap it. Just make sure you set your font level under Option.

Apps on the HTC Touch are really quite laggy, I thought it would be laggy iPhone Safari browsing, but it was REALLY good, Storm doesn't look so good, they should just accept that MS and HTC make the best touch phones.

I actually hated the Storm at first, too...but once I used it for a little while, it's really one of the best phones out there...anyway, this review doesn't make very much since because he fails to mention that you can use opera on the Storm. It works way better than the BlackBerry browser- it's what I'm using right now... And he also stated that you can't watch Youtube videos on this phone- also untrue.
