  • @rus524 LOL

  • i dont quite beleive his ohhh ohhh. no attitude. and like many 70s pop songs it sounds like hes singing about rape. american british cross overs are facinating. it often works well both ways. shame it didnt this time

  • @MrLorenzotebano Reading a bit much into, eh ?

Oh, and it works PERFECTLY fine

  • a t-rex clone but a nice song

  • I went to a school disco in a red lacy dress & the DJ kept playing this & pointing at me.

    He was about late twenties/early thirties & I was 12 !

It was quite funny the first time but it rapidly became highly embarassing.

  • Great !! thanks

  • I don't think this was at all a hit on American radio... Did this have a retro sound, and look, when it first came out? I think 1974 was also the year David Essex 'Rock On' came out (which *was* a bit US hit)... it reminds me of that a bit. Similar kind of vibe.

  • alvin is THE KING OF MANSFIELD

  • I used to love this!!!!

  • english levis in las palmas :))

  • It's really Marcus from Big Brother 10!!!! lol

  • do you see his eyes? oh my God... ;))))

  • He got the menacing look and the black leather from the great Gene Vincent.Even the mike twirl/pointing thing.I think Alvin would have to admit that.

  • Alvin credits Gene Vincent for a lot of his stage performance

  • Elvis on acid!!!

  • the king of glam rock

  • Einfach Super

  • Pretty Great!..Thanks for uploading this one!

  • Good Artist.

  • Probably the first guy to do that lift up the mic stand and point/twirl it thing that became standard rock performance practice... excellent stuff, altho he kind of traumatised me as a kid - yup, you guessed it... it was those sinister, black kinky gloves....

  • id say jim morrison did it before him

  • How could you resist him.just seen him at theatre and although not as young was still fantastic and still had his lovely smile.which makes you weak at knees.

  • This whole show looks fantastic, I wish it could be uploaded in its entirety. It has the Bay City Rollers, ABBA, Stevie Wonder, The Osmonds, Jim Stafford, Wizzard, The Stylistics and of course Alvin!!!!

  • Hows about that then, eu eu eu eu eu!

  • 2:22 is quite amusing to witness...

  • I aways remember this because of the BBC "Tit" at 2:22..what a knob..if he'd just have stayed still nobody would have paid any attention to him..the Trumpet.

  • this from may 2nd 1974.

  • We used to sing 'Who's that spasmo in the red dress!' Not very PC I know, but as 11 year olds in '74, we thought it was funny!

  • gorgeous face,....loved his music, still sounds good today when I hear it!

  • cool ,he's got diamonds on the bottom side of his mic stand

  • Saw Alvin on TV recently and he never seems to age...

  • At 0.47 he looks as though he's going to start laughing....definately a WTF am I doing moment! :-)

  • My first concert in 1974 was Alvin at the Glasgow Apollo.

His first 4 singles are great - "My Coo Ca Choo", "Jealous Mind" "Red Dress" and "You You You".

And not a trace of scandal either...

  • im 23,but this beats any music from these days!

  • Is Jimmy Saville still alive?

  • This guy used to scare the shite out of my kid brother who was 5 in 1974 LOL...have to admit there is "something" slightly sinister about Alvin Stardust!!!

  • True, but that was part of his appeal, black leather and lookin mean and moody. Pity there's no1 with that appeal at the mo.

  • Have I got news 4 U? Alvin can still do it !!!

  • I sore him in Worthing Sussex,UK, in Sept 08,Brilliant Gig Met him, nice guy.

  • I should have been there but I went somewhere else, yes you right, Alvin is very nice person, nothing sinister at all!

  • My Coo Ca Choo and Jealous Mind sold out so quickly that Red Dress was the first Alvin single that I bought. What a year that was. A fantastic song and video thanx!

  • 1974. what memories. thanks georgekohl.

  • Great times I agree, but only seems like yesterday.

  • H, Ha- Speak for yourself. Listening to the great Alvin songs keeps me young.!!!!

  • Ha, speak for yourself, Listening to Alvins songs keeps me young!!!!

  • i can relate to that, been on medicine since 74, it keeps me alive, but Alvin and his songs make it worthwhile
