A silent spring story. Today they try to engineer RoboCrop and call it food. No obvious skin or lung problems now, they're just gradually fucking up our helixes.
I lived next to the fields that they cropped dusted when I was young, not sure what they sprayed but I bet I'd recognize it if I smelled it, you'd be covered with a white stinky dust when they went by.
Then you'd swim in the irrigation canals with all the toxic run offs
YIKES! Good thing it wasn't EVERYDAY, though....I think you have a chance of making it...Your poor relatives being out in those rice fields WITH the DDT everyday, they didn't have much of a chance :(
I cannot tell you how much I love these videos. I wish I had done this with my grandmother and my mother. What a treasure you make for your posterity here! I'm so grateful you are sharing.
this wa sa good story

Gotta love Woody Guthrie.
Mama looks like a ghost sometimes.

She does. Especially when she puts her white pancake makeup on to go to church.

AAACK! Is there no safe food left?
marquisdejolie 3 years ago
Like you said once, they are trying to teach us to feed on cardboard. I mostly cook my own stuff, aiming to reduce the plasticness of my food intake.

I eat unprocessed every chance I get.

I'm still sick from the DDT on Kole Farms; which btw, is no more since IKE
Homeschooler7 3 years ago
Where was Kole Farms?
marquisdejolie 3 years ago
Farm Road 1985 or Whites Ranch Rd west of Hwy 124. I was raised there and my daddy built that house. Our family sold the homestead in the 70s.

Now this was a well produced/edited film (not a campy catch-phrase "video"). Just great!

When I was a kid, I used to ride my bike behind the city truck spraying DDT through the streets of Marshall. Hope I make it to 63!

Hmmm--well you DID expose yourself to DDT..I hope you make it to 63, too!!
katalina2007 3 years ago
Ahyup, once a week during mosquito season I was biking in the DDT cloud.

I summered down there once for school break when I was a kid. They had me shootin' canal rats all summer.

Mom comes from a family that usually lives well into their 90s, so 63 is still a youngster.
