  • this wa sa good story

  • Thank you!

  • Gotta love Woody Guthrie.

Mama looks like a ghost sometimes.

  • She does. Especially when she puts her white pancake makeup on to go to church.

  • A silent spring story. Today they try to engineer RoboCrop and call it food. No obvious skin or lung problems now, they're just gradually fucking up our helixes.

  • AAACK! Is there no safe food left?

  • Like you said once, they are trying to teach us to feed on cardboard. I mostly cook my own stuff, aiming to reduce the plasticness of my food intake.

  • I eat unprocessed every chance I get.

    :)

  • Better dying through chemistry...

  • Even more so these days.

  • I'm still sick from the DDT on Kole Farms; which btw, is no more since IKE

  • Where was Kole Farms?

  • Farm Road 1985 or Whites Ranch Rd west of Hwy 124. I was raised there and my daddy built that house. Our family sold the homestead in the 70s.

  • Sorry to hear about your loss.

  • I lived next to the fields that they cropped dusted when I was young, not sure what they sprayed but I bet I'd recognize it if I smelled it, you'd be covered with a white stinky dust when they went by.

Then you'd swim in the irrigation canals with all the toxic run offs

(I wonder if I glow in a black light)

  • Bugs don't bother you, do they?

    :)

  • Now this was a well produced/edited film (not a campy catch-phrase "video"). Just great!

  • Thanks! I'll make more.

    :)

  • I love how you used that propaganda short as a way for the idea to look even worse. Five stars!

  • Five thanks!

  • Rice farming sounded so DIFFICULT :( TOo bad about your mom's relatives LUNGS! Breathing in all those toxcins!

  • When I was a kid, I used to ride my bike behind the city truck spraying DDT through the streets of Marshall. Hope I make it to 63!

  • Hmmm--well you DID expose yourself to DDT..I hope you make it to 63, too!!

  • Ahyup, once a week during mosquito season I was biking in the DDT cloud.

  • YIKES! Good thing it wasn't EVERYDAY, though....I think you have a chance of making it...Your poor relatives being out in those rice fields WITH the DDT everyday, they didn't have much of a chance :(

  • I summered down there once for school break when I was a kid. They had me shootin' canal rats all summer.

  • I cannot tell you how much I love these videos. I wish I had done this with my grandmother and my mother. What a treasure you make for your posterity here! I'm so grateful you are sharing.

  • Thanks! Tell your friends. I need more comments like that (and views) to feel validated.

    :)

  • xoexo

  • xoexo back. :)

  • Barnstorming looks fun.

  • It does.

  • Interesting stuff man! I hope 2 see 63!

    Five Stars!

  • Mom comes from a family that usually lives well into their 90s, so 63 is still a youngster.

    :)

  • They had it rough in a different way back then, life was straight froward but hard work it seems.

Intresting story,a true record of a different time.

  • Thanks. I'll make more. :)
