  • I heard "Heavy, hoe bang, f*ck," as a child.

  • Fact: Listening to the singing in these movies will increase your manliness in every way. I can now wear pink and still be more manly than anyone not wearing pink.

  • Best song from the movie!! Dancing Quality! :))

  • Mmmm... Possibly ,or maybe Fifteen Birds or Where There's A Whip There's A Way.

  • Three people are complaining about not being burgled in first-class accommodations.

  • Love this movie, all of it, though this song isn't my favorite among them. :)

  • @Ogrimify DOwn, down to gobin town?

  • thorin popping out of the barrel..

"what? you never see a groggy, bearded, hitchiker before?" XD

  • always loved this song.

  • 2 people are just plain mean.

  • One of the best film tributes to Tolkien, if not thee best. I think at least....

  • The biggest flaw in this film really is the animation of the elves. Other than that, it's fairly faithful and actually quite good.

  • Interesting. You seem to have ripped this clip from the DVD version which is missing some audio. Right before Bilbo says, "Oh, stop complaining! I never promised to burgle you first class accomdations!", there's the sound of knocking on barrels and complaints from the dwarves.

    Good song nonetheless.

  • I am Thorin, Grandson of King under the Mountain. I have returned...(IN A BARREL!)

Look! The mountain is turning to gold!

  • In the book, Bilbo stops to replace the keys onto the jailer's belt, thinking "That will spare him SOME of the trouble he's in for!"

  • The illustration of this movie was/is superb! WHY CAN'T THEY MAKE EM' LIKE THIS ANYMORE!??

  • Hahaha, I sing these songs to my kids all the time... to their horror.

  • I remember this movie :) I really liked it too, but I haven't seen it in ages.

  • "Oh, stop complaining! I never promised to burgler you first class accommodations!" Boy, Bilbo really has put up alot with Thorin and those crazy dwarves.

  • fave song

  • This song is way catchy! THIS MOVIE IS MY CHILDHOOD

  • Sometimes when I'm bored at work doing something obscenely tedious, this song will pop into my head for something like 20 minutes! This, Down to Goblin Town, Fifteen Birds, Where there's a Whip, and the song the Elves sing that goes, "Oh tra la la lally...". Tolkien was so great, I wish he had lived to be 300 so that he could have written more.

  • These cartoons are sooo much better than the live action movies, in my meaningless opinion :p thanks so much for the post NightTorch.

  • Roll Roll Roling down the Hole...

  • Go Bilbo!

  • LOVE the watercolor landscape

  • always liked this song, makes a great drinking song at the pub mate.

  • @Battle4MiddleEarth Thats a good pub. The only songs people will drink to around here ask for three steps or praise Alabama.

  • "Oh stop complaining! I never offered you first class burgular accomodations!"

Love this movie (althoug hI wish the elves didn't look uglier than the orcs).

  • I have a theory that Bard was Tolkien's prototype for Aragorn. A badass bowman who's destined to become king. Applies to them both pretty well, doesn't it?

  • I sing this song while taking dumps.

  • my dad used to play this for me... i love this movie ^w^!

  • love this song... i have this moie y am

i watching it on youtube O-o

  • Did it have to be barrels

  • (to az091859) i have no idea. but could you think of something better, considering the situation they're in? lol anyway that's a good point though, although i am trying and failing to imagine what else they could've used besides barrels, maybe i'm just that bad at using my imagination haha xD

  • Holy frell. I haven't seen this in forever and I'm definitely fuzzy, but am I imagining the marijuana leaves on the elves' heads?

  • i see them too o.o

  • Fuck yeah, barrels.

  • The forest you once know is full of shadows gray and grim. It sounds like someone drank too much.

  • Well of course mate. You could have the richest most complex characters in the world, but without a proper story line to support them they'd be nothing. Without the obvious being said, and those wonderfully sophisticated comparisons to stories I've never heard of, (with the exception of LoTR) I'm glad you agree. I was only commenting about the music but yeah, that too.

  • If mountains could be emo, then the lonely mountain would fit the bill.

  • @Ermundos clever

  • "I never promised to burgle you first class accommodations!"

When it comes to my favorite animated movies this is number one on the list. Brilliant voices, backgrounds, characters, and above all, the music! There were so many good lines in this one. Hahaha, bloody perfect!

  • I couldn't agree with you more.

  • Not only that, imho The Hobbit represents the single best story in the entirety of the fantasy pantheon. It's certainly the most original; the jumping-off point for everything following, including even LoTR. The Hobbit is far more accessible than "The Trilogy", mostly because the transformation that Bilbo undergoes is much more pronounced. The Trilogy also has a tendency to wallow in backstory; such tedium is mercifully absent from The Hobbit (with all due respect for the Tolkster, natch').

  • I love this song

  • Best drinking song i've ever heard!

  • 1:34 love the begining of that song and Rollin down a hole. wish the songs were released on a cd.

  • Great song. Catchy.

  • Oh yea, this song is great. Brings back great memories!

  • My favorite child hood movie. The animation is out of this world

  • epic bloody win

  • This is the best!

  • I never get tired of the movie or the book !!!

  • the only thing that really bugs me is the elves are uglier than orcs but in the book its says the elves are fair folk.

  • Ironically, Bilbo tells totally silent dwarves to stop complaining. Doesn't really work to cut out half of a movie's sound effects, does it?

  • elves are done great injustice in this movie! >:(

Otherwise, I think it's OK, fairly accurate, with catchy songs.

  • Come on, this was a good song!

  • it's odd when you see this movie, then watch peter jackson's LoTR and wonder, "which one is the fair one?" lol

  • or rather, the part with the elves lol

  • this song is one of my favorates.

  • Plus, they're elves. They make happy joy joy songs when they're in a happy mood, and songs full of ancient sadness otherwise...I prefer happy joy joy more often than not.

  • Hahaha legolas kin looks like orcs

  • Orcs were related to elves.

  • actually Tolkien really hated the Orcs descended from corrupt elves theory he created and decided that he would rather have them be beasts with intelligence granted beyond their measure

  • I thought it was a pretty nifty theory but I guess it's all up to Tolkien because he pretty much invented the creatures.

  • He really did (Well, with exception to the Men....duhh)

  • Haha, I totally sang along.! :)

  • I'll admit to pretending to be a kiddie ^_^

  • If you can ignore the wrinkly, blue-skinned Elves, this is a pretty cute movie.

  • If this song is gay, than so is JRR Tolkien's poetry(of which the lyrics are derived). The Hobbit isn't so bad.

  • That song was taken out of context. Also, think of the era this movie was made in. This was popular stuff back then. Finally, its not that bad. I think its quite catchy myself.

  • And since has being gay had negative conotations?

  • Megalo, i agree it is a awesome song i have watched the hobbit so many times and i love each and every of the songs in the hobbit

  • This is the greatest move ever!! the songs are the catchiest things I have ever heard.. I haven't seen the actually movie for like 5 years.. but I remeber all the songs.

  • It is too bad it was cut short by the talking.

  • Peter Jackson's trilogy also had some pretty grotesque modifications, despite how awesome it otherwise was.
