This is a terrificly constructed trailer.

The pacing is bang on, the dramatic beats are smack on the money.

If each scene was reshot with Daniel Craig in modern times, there's no question this trailer would sell tickets for the next Bond film.

I don't think there's any chance you would train a superb agent - and then put them in a death game. Not even the KGB would do that. It could be a real waste.

According to the director he wanted a "gladiator training school set in modern times" - his inspiration was the training scene in Spartacus.

Of course, this is SPECTRE's training school, the rules are different!

Agree! In a way, like the film it self, the most serious one. He is so cold and proffesional. This is thee classic, and the first 007-film I saw, in 1979. These Classic Bond Movies really are great compared to the two new ones (Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace) but the two movies we're much more of a fill up to what bond was before he got his status we all know. The real James Bond movie Daniel Craig would be doing is probably the upcoming Bond 23. They mentioned that since the Vesper story was finished and Bond's relationship with M and Felix Leiter is now secured, they're now coming up where Q and Moneypenny came from. Can't wait.

As far as I am aware, (I am on chapter 12) The film (as most films are) is a compressed version of its novel counterpart, yet the major plot is pretty much the same. You get better insights into some characters such as Red Grant / Tatiana etc. from the book than the film. The good thing is, it doesn't really bores you even if you watch the film first and then read the book! :)

Bond died when he was no longer Sean Connery. The concept has been raped, stripped, violated and ridiculed. Bond is not a modern action hero. He is a gentleman. I still cannot believe how this concept has been completely ruined by the Brits. As far as I'm concerned Bond stopped at Never say never again.
