The 2 cars are not in the same class. The Taurus competes with the Impala not the Malibu. The Malibu competes with Fusion. This is why GM is failing, they're to busy trying to compete with Ford. They need to compete with Honda and Toyota. Ford is coming out with a hybrid Fusion that will get better gas mileage than Hybrid Accord and Camry. Ford has moved past GM concentrating on new rivals. The Japanese, GM and Chrysler are still thinking about the 60's. This is they will go out of Business.

Sorry I am sticking with the Ford. All new GM products just don't have it when it comes to reliability. If it wasn't for GM our shop would go out of business. The old GM cars were better but Ford has almost got it's quality equal to Toyota and Honda. So while your Malibu is in the shop I will still be on the road in my 03 Taurus with over 145,000 miles and it gives me no trouble.

Wrong, fizzely1 the 2008 Malibu has a 2.4 liter 164bhp 4 cylinder ecotec engine availible and a 3.6 liter 252bhp V-6 availible. The 4 cylinder is availible on all models and can be paired with a 4 speed auto or 6 speed manumatic. The V-6 is only availible with the 6 speed manumatic tranny. Sounds better than the Taurus to me. Get your facts straight.

The Malibu is very unattractive vehicle. You should look into the new 2008 Taurus. Everything is excellent in the vehicle from Safety, Styling, Engine, Drivetrain, and features. I'm pretty sure that the new Taurus would beat the Malibu and the Impala in just about everything. The only thing good about the Malibu is there aren't a lot on the road for obvious reasons.
