I dont yse tomtom but Im really satusfied with navigon. The signal in LA here is strong. I never lost any GPS signal exept u go under tunnel. 5 star app!!

tomtom is smart tho because they know most people will need their car kit matter which navigation app you buy. The iphone speaker isn't loud enough and the gps is weak.

just go to options and activate 3D Navigation map. The bad part is that the 3D images are not available on all roads just a few.

Navigon sucks...I bought it...I never saw any of those 'beautiful picture maps'...I returned it back to the store the very next morning...stay away from crap like this!

Hell yeah!! I love TomTom but they seem to be screwing customers by FORCING us to buy their cradle otherwise the TomTom for iPhone won't work Grrr

Just hope they remember about Australian customers!!! We have credit cards too :-)

A direct reply from TomTom confirmed you MUST buy cradle because TomTom will NOT load unless it is connected :(

Incorrect. The TomTom representative clearly stated that the cradle was optional. Watch the demo, YouTube "Tom Tom Iphone 3s app navi navigation" by 3GiPhoneinfo.

I've seen the full WWDC 2009 Keynote presentation. They also state that TomTom will be one of the first apps to use propriarty hardware over the dock. That and also a reply email from TomTom saying the software wont work without the cradle.
