The WASL is not good for so many reasons,

The WASL is not "standardized" as are the SAT, the ACT, or even the GED. The WASL is a costly burden both financially and in the 20%of the academic year is spent "teaching the test." Why don't students in private schools and home schoolers have to pass the WASL? Education is big money and there are folks out there who would love to profit from the demise of our public schools.

Home school kids, now do have to pass the 10th grade reading, wrighting, and science part of the wasl in order to graduate.

this is bullshit, if we want people to be able to function at higher levels in the workplace then yes, we need people who are able to pass a standardized test. If you are unable to pass it, (and btw I found it exceptionally easy as did most people I know) then perhaps walmart is your best bet, Focus on helping everybody not just blacks and hispanics.

The Haunted House was fabulous, our family was the first in line to see it. I hope you tour it this year. It was fun, informative, and oh, so true. I particularly liked the gambling table with all the high stakes players looking to get rich from the game.

Honestly if you work hard st school there is no reason why you shouldn't pass the wasl. The reason for students of color (except asians) performing at lower levels than white is simply that many of them put less effort in academics.

Are you serious? You were both unbelievably racist toward minority populations that perform at lower levels (because of INSTITUTIONALIZED RACISM) AND you were able to perpetuate the "model minority" myth in the SAME comment. It's rare I see such brazen bigotry all at once.

Haha please point me to this institutionalized racism, oh yeah it doesn't exist. Unless you consider the fact that seattle schools spend thousands of dollars to make sure African Americans and Hispanics have extra means for academics. Which is blatantly unfair to Whites and Asians some of whom are just as poor.

NO you are wrong the WASL is not helpful. Because the state Legislature say no help on the WASL no matter is you are disabled or have special needs you have to fend for you self, the questions are not real questions. The WASL IS actually as a fact not opinion not awesome. It damages you. THE WASL IS EVIL IT WILL GO TO HELL SO WILL IT's creators They are evil people. they must be impeached.
