Basically, when you see the whole face, people tend to get distracted and comment more on the person's looks, instead of the performance.

The mask tends to make people concentrate on the actual dance. It's true, for some reason.

She stopped wearing the mask in her more recent videos because she graduated and more importantly, started dancing professionally. No point in hiding your identity if you're going to perform in public.
