  • maybe frankel can be the next great

  • Class

  • Which Derby winner was ridden by 19 stone negro?

  • @CharleyVD i own his granddaughter, poppy! omg! (clochemerle)

  • I'm so glad to own his grandson isben. He is just as fast and beautiful :)

  • i own nijinsky's great grandson! :)

  • Orson Welles or...Lorne Green!

  • Yes, Nijinsky was a wonderful horse. It had everything. I suppose it had the best trainer and jockey of all time but it truly was a majestic horse. That June day in 1970 when it beat the French horses Gyr and Stintino in a proper Derby was the tops. I was in Manchester coming out of work and the paper bill boards spouted " NIJINSKY ROMPS THE DERBY"

  • The greatest flat race horse of all time, anywhere... pure dynamite... and brings a tear to my eye just watching him again...

  • He epitimises 'legend', a word that is too ofte thrown around these days.

I have a grand-daughter of his and she definately inherited his heart and determination

  • Nijinsky was a phenomenon, the best all round racehorse i ever saw. His Arc was a heartbreaker, but his majestic victories will never be forgotten. Not to mention his sensational stallion carear.

  • I think what Nijinsky tells us is that you don't have to be the 'best' to be the greatest. To do all what he did in May and October (and in between, and in his 2-y-o career before that ) I don't think has been matched.

  • Nijinsky you are one of the greats.

rip vincent o'brien this was one of your best horses as were you as a trainer.

  • What an horse. Nothing more than a training canter. I doubt many of us here will see his like again.

  • Yep that wasn Orsen, and the real start of Nijinskys great career,

  • Did the great horse even know he had had a race that day? Was that really Orson Welles? Where was this taken from?

  • It is evident here of what was to come, Nijinsky is simply cruising while the rest are flat to the boards.

Great Horse, in the true sense of the word.

  • My sisters horse, Charlie - Nijinsky's his great great grand sire :)

  • Poetry in motion.

  • A foreshadowing of things to come!..what a genuine sort Nijinsky was, a real professional! Lester just pushes him with hands and heels the horse knows what he's about and gets on with it

  • great post

    ignore idiotic comment from oceallachain

  • I LOVE NIJINSKY he was a wonderful horse!

  • not in HD unfortunately

  • Not particularly clear colour, of course, but presumably the only footage that would exist in any kind of colour, TV coverage having still been black and white (Nijinsky's classics were the first to be shown in colour).
