Interestingly enough, many of these hymns are shared between the Catholic church and the other Protestant denominations (especially the Lutherans). It's great that we can share common hymns.
2) Have you used "The Parish Organist" setting of this hymn tune? It's a very nice 3-part fughetta by R. Wienhorst and is worth checking out.
3) Great job at keeping a consistent pulse. I liked all the registrations you used, but be careful about changing registrations while holding the chord. Part of changing registrations is the impact it has on the first note of the next stanza. Don't spoil the surprise!
Wicks Opus 4181, 2/13 installed in 1962. Some Walker digital voices have since been added, and the exposed Great removed to behind the organ screen next to the Swell in the pedal chamber.
Don't know if you've got access to the old Lutheran Hymnal or not, but if you do, here are some of my own favorite Lutheran hymns (chorale names - not first lines) that you could try out and post - would love to hear your registrations on that pipe organ.
Thank you very much! Yes I am familiar with TLH. I've been busy with work, but I'm hoping to go to my church and play the organ soon so I can upload some more. But I will take your requests into account. Thanks for Listening!
I agree. I may be dating myself, but when I was a kid, we would sing this hymn for Easter at my church, and then when LW came along in 82, this hymn got stuck in "Death and Burial!"
To the Organist - Great registrations you chose for this one and Just as I Am. Never mind the others. The socks are fine as long as the organ's up in a loft where nobody knows :)
Great hymn. ELW (Evangelical Lutheran Worship)hymnal calls this hymn: Jesus Shall Reign. I Know my Redemmer Lives is played differently in our church. Anyone agree?
Hey shoe man, he doesnt have to wear shoes if he doesnt want to. Most organist dont wear shoes; they prefer the "feel" of the pedals under their feet. The correct spelling of pracice is PRACTICE!
Withing the past year I started messing around with the pedals. Well I've never had lessons for play organ. I just kinda do my own thing. I do it not only because I love it, but also because my church needed an extra organist at the time. I am not seeking to become some professional.
You should become a professional organist. I so enjoyed your playing. The good LORD has blessed you. Please do not ever stop playing. God be with you always.
Well done from Champaign, IL.

Great Job! A good pair of organ shoes will make it easier to play the pedals more smoothly. Organmaster makes a great organ shoe.

Excellent! One of my favorites... especially if you have a good trumpet to play it with you.
Thanks

Just one quick pointer, Instead of just using your heels to play the pedals. Try using both your heel and toe to create a smoother sound.

Well done, sir! A couple of points:
1) Who's the builder of this particular organ?
2) Have you used "The Parish Organist" setting of this hymn tune? It's a very nice 3-part fughetta by R. Wienhorst and is worth checking out.
3) Great job at keeping a consistent pulse. I liked all the registrations you used, but be careful about changing registrations while holding the chord. Part of changing registrations is the impact it has on the first note of the next stanza. Don't spoil the surprise!

We have such a great hymnody in the Lutheran Church; I just wish more of it were posted on YouTube.

I don't wear shoes either. But for a better playing, organ shoe is a must if he is learning it seriously.
