@mwiguitar62 Hmmmm... When I'm after a higher gain Marshall kind of sound I'd give it a 9. It's a great amp but totally a one trick pony. It does, however, do that one trick very very well.
@forgivenman Hm. nice to know :) I ended up getting a Hughes & Kettner Attax 40 watt. The price was way lower than the what the other guy was asking but ,meh, I'll live. I'd love to get the VTM-60 though.

@forgivenman Sorry, but the VTM is FAR from a one trick pony. You just have to be willing to spend a good bit of time tweaking knobs and dip switches.
That sounds fantastic. Just a question, have you played a peavey classic, and if so could you compare the two? This amp seems to have the awesome sustain that I get from the classic so I just wanted to see if this was the same.
@b1gnasty69 I have to say it but I haven't played any of the Peavey Classics- I've been interested in them though. For cleaner sounds I typically use Vox or Vox style amps.
how loud would you say this amp is? my band plays a lot of places without pa systems and i have the loudest drummer in the world. could the 60 watt handle it or should i got the 120?
Great question- I think they get about 85% of the way to a typical P90 sound. The neck PU is, indeed, fatter sounding and thicker than a standard P90 but using them together yields a nice jangly sound. The bridge PU is almost too hot. I typically keep the tone turned down to about 7-8 to tame some of the brightness. Hope that helps.
If you could rate this from 1-10 what would it be?

Thanks man- I go backa and forth with using my fingers and using a pick. It all depends on how much Jeff Beck I'm listening too!

I can't imagine the 60 not being enough volume. It's an unbelievably loud amp.

Awesome- I sometimes start jonesing for these cheap old amps. They're such good deals and sound amazing.

Very nice. What is your opinion on the Phat Cats? Would you say they sound like real P90's?

Sweet playing man that was the best les paul demo i've seen in a while
I have the same guitar with a phat cat in the neck and burstbucker in the bridge, but mine are gold.
