Isso só ocorreu porque os dois simplesmente se detestavam. Senna não era um santo, Prost, muito menos. é o que está faltando na f1 atual pra botar pimenta: rivalidade genuína.
i have a french documentary with a video from atop. Prost steers into senna when he is 70-80%past him. You guys retaded? why would Senna hit prost when he was the one passing?
Why would Prost hit Senna when a comfortable 2nd was all he needed to win the championship? Anyway, I think this isn't Prost's or Senna's fault. If Senna was going to win the title he'd need to Prost out of the race and he needed to win, that was not to be.
I think Senna just had to win the race to have a chance at winning the championship. Prost cut him off out of frustration - he led for almost all of the race from the start, but some 5-6 laps until the end Senna, who never gave up, was passing him. It was a memorable moment, though - both Senna and Prost made a good show
Nope because in Suzuka,(which is the 2nd last round of the season) they were at 76 - 60 points with Prost ahead, if Senna won without being disqualified they would have been at 76 - 69. Senna needed to win Adelaide to become champ, which he didn't. Prost was champ one way or the other.
Adelaide was after Suzuka. After Suzuka Prost knew he would win. Don't forget Balestre. When Senna crashed in Adelaide, he knew he would be disqualified anyway. It wasn't really a fair end of the championship. Prior to the Suzuka incident Senna had a fair chance to win

What many people dont know is that Senna and Prost got along with each other well for quiete some time. Until Estoril 88 they had pretty friendly relationship and the bad feelings between the two really started only after Imola 89. But for most of 88 doing interviews together, laughing and joking while doing it was pretty common to see. I'm happy that these two great characters made peace with each other before Senna died in Imola. They needed each other to shine even greater.
Prost was still one of the best drivers, he even won a world title in a crap car (1986)...I agree that Senna was a great driver...but lets not forget that Prost has achieved great achievements as well...
I agree, they were both incredible on the track, and pretty entertaining off the track as well. I wonder if we will ever get characters like that again in F1. We certainly don't have them at the moment.
I hope to see duels like this next year in McLaren if Kimi stays when Alonso joins.I remember when Ferrari dominated they said it was no more exciting when McLaren dominated.WRONG.Senna and Prost had marvellous duels in 1988 and 1989.Unlike Barrichello and Schumacher, remember Austria´02? Senna had Prost as team-mate.Now what team-mate of Michaels was a champion before joining him?In fact none were even racewinners.Barrichello,Irvine,Herbert,Verstappen,Brundle.Senna forever.

Why would he take Prost out when he needed to finish to win the title?

Ayrton Senna TAKING OUT Alain Prost (as he did again in Estoril...)

That's absolutely right! On both occasions it was Senna's fault. That's what I call bad sportsmanship!

Ayrton SEnna Taking out Prost , you crazy?
PROST clearly hits Senna
u blind or what?

I thought that was funny that they got stuck at the end of that vid.

First time I've heard someone admit Prost was a great driver instead of show pure hatred towards him. He indeed is one of the greats.

Senna got him back 1 year later at the same race in the first corner.
Revenge is a dish best served cold, and Prost got it served to him big time.
