Since it is spring loaded to automatically return to the start position, doesn't that mean you can't leave it in a cocked position for that constant in-between sound? I find that a negative.
@StringersLogic Yep. Moved right out of my house. Sold to Devi Ever, if I remember correctly. Great pedal, though. Too small for my big ol' feet, though.
This has been my whole problem with wah s there way too Big & usually suck the tone right out of your Guitar This ROCK S !!!! Warren B. Pro guitarist Five For Fighting / Climb / California Band
@raizumichin Only think making me second guess buying one(besides money lol) is the fact that I like to leave my near half-cocked some times to get an obscene mid/treble spike.
This is probably the first time I've not been driven crazy by someone talking at the beginning of a youtube review. The typical awkward stutter makes me antsy. You sound actually excited about this.
Seems like bypass triggers somewhere between 1 and 2 seconds. A time knob to control that disengage would be excellent.
I guess I am a little late to the party on this one. :) It's a great idea and definitely a few steps in the right direction. Seems like there are a couple of things about it that would bug me, though. For one, I am guessing there is no way to leave it in a "cocked" position because of the spring. Also, one of my favorite things about a traditionally designed wah is the ability to sweep up OR down at your discretion. I think I would miss that option... Still, very cool idea!
I've got the chi wah wah - sweet pedal, as well as the wampler super plextortion. If I put the plextortion on its highest setting of distortion, with the little toggle switch all the way up, and if I depress the wah wah all the way down, get a squealing sound. Did you encounter this and how did you deal with it, if you did. I have noticed that backing off on the distortion stopped the squealing.
the only thing I don't like about this is the 2 second delay when you take your foot off to disengage the pedal, it's all muffled-wah where you want straight un-affected sound
There is too much delayed Time from the moment you lift off your foot to when it Auto switches back to stand by mode... This drastically effects the tone of the following section of the song where one does not want a Wha-Wha tone...
I am waiting for delivery,i ordered from a company called tonefactor in the states,on e bay,im not sure what duty i will pay,but including shipping,it cost £137,which was £43 quid cheaper than buying from guitar xs the uk stockist, they quoted £180 inc shipping, from surrey, which is 50 miles from where i live,as i wasnt in any hurry,it was worth the saving,im sure i wont pay £43 in duty.
Is the pedal action reverse from Cry Baby and Morley, and is pedal spring loaded, to return to "start" position when you take your foot off? Sounds real nice!
@blademon7 Kind of, yeah. It's reverse in the sense that the treadle faces backwards. Yep, it returns to start courtesy of some sort of spring loading. Cheers, BK.
@blademon7 It seems like a really nice stompbox. But I couldn't get used to the reverse sweep of the pedal. Fuck that shit. Poor design. not to mention Morley just issued 2 new mini wahs. So this pedal has cheaper and traditionally designed competition.
@guitarthroat I find your advice helpful. I own a Morley Power Wah/Fuzz I purchased in '75 , and a Dunlop Crybaby I purchased last year. I like the size and action of the Crybaby more, but cooked the transistors(diode protection failed) when in a hurry to play, connected an incorrect power supply to it. Y' gotta laugh sometimes. Will check out the new Morleys. Peace.
This was a surprisingly helpful and all together solid review. Just the sheer numbers of gear demos, reviews, and clips on youtube is overwhelming. I've only seen a few, however, that really appeal to me. I thought, however, that this review had everything. Not too much talking, great playing, and insightful commentary that you COULD ignore, if you would (for whatever reason) wish to. On top of that, it was put together at a very comfortable length, but left nothing to be desired. Great job!
B-B-B-b-b-b-ergs, aka - "The Resource" scores another awesome review. I use a Morley BH2 specifically for the spring loaded and auto-off implementation. My only question, is it as 'sensitive' on the distance of the travel as I'm guessing it has to be? Regardless, gotta try one... My biggest gripe about my Morley is it's colossal size. Then again, it is a good target after a shot of Tequila... hell might not be able to FIND this one! ;-)
Brett? I'd highly advice opening a thread on TGP about this. I was about to do this for you, but I thought it would be a little more respectful to have you do it yourself since it's your vid. I do think this is quite a revolutionary device! I'm no Wah-fan at all, but still, I think it's a really cool design!
@cosmogang Yeah, they're making every effort to get it right. I tested the buffer as well and it's very good, IMO. Works well in front of a MKI Tone Bender, too. That was a pleasant surprise. If I get a second I'll work up another video to show you. I've got 12 pedals waiting in the wings though, so it might be a week or two..
@b44styreraug There might be a little peak, yes. I had the Gain wound up high and as I didn't use a compressor before the sound card (M-Audio ProFire 610) I think there was a second when it clipped the input. Sorry!!
Since it is spring loaded to automatically return to the start position, doesn't that mean you can't leave it in a cocked position for that constant in-between sound? I find that a negative.

This is probably the greatest wah-design ever. There's only two problems with it:
1) why did it take this long to figure it out?
2) why didn't I think of it first?
