  • Peter responded to the open door to present the gospel of Christ and 3,000 were added to the church that day. He wasn't responding to speaking in tongues. You can cram anything into the Scriptures to try and prove your doctrine, but accurate interpretation of the Bible is to let the Scriptures interpret the Scriptures.

1 Corinthians 14 clearly says that there are greater gifts and means of pleasing God than tongues. Prophecy (proclaiming the Word), praise, evangelism, etc.

  • Does any1 find it funny that Almost ALL Trinitarians believe in Grace (Alone) Thru Faith (Alone), dont believe tongues are needed or water baptism is needed? While more most ALL Oneness-Apostolics believe that Acts 2:38 is the "Keys 2The Kingdom" which is true? idk any Trinitarians that obey & use & preach Acts 2:38 nor do iKnow any "Grace by Faith" Apostolics.. #JusSayin'

  • @JIIBlessed in a sense, both are correct.

  • @higherground2050 Yes, true.. iDo believe we are saved by Grace thru faith, but faith is By obediance 2The Gospel(Romans 6.. & 10:16, 2Thess. 1:8) & while people wanna say Baptism & Getting the HolyGhost with tounges are Works, they are works of God, not of the Law or of Man.. +even so that would make Repentance aWork as well & No1 denies Repentance is Necessary. & Remember Faith without Works is Dead, being alone. James 2.. What is your Opinion, brother?

  • @JIIBlessed I too believe we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. After we are saved we should grow in the fruits of the spirit. I also do believe that people are filled with the Holy Ghost today speaking in tongues (I am one of them). But the Holy Ghost is more of an empowering force equipping one for Godly service and self spiritual warfare. But just because someone does not have the gift of the infilling of the Holy Ghost does not mean they are not saved.

  • @higherground2050 Mm, That is incorrect but uAre sum what right in the begining, bro.. uSee in John 14(:26) & 15(:26)- Jesus promises all his true Discipoles & Followers would get the Comforter, which is the HolyGhost. & God doesn't lie(Titus 1:2) soo we must recieve the HolyGhost... & Romans 8:9 states clearly that "if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his." If uDont have the Spirit, then uArent in Christ, then uArent Saved..yet.

  • @JIIBlessed Please explain why the mentally challenged, babies, very old people who come to Christ and people that have been seeking the gift of Holy Ghost for months or years after they believe still did not get it. What if the believer dies before they get it? What happens to them? You see the Holy is just that "a gift". Salvation is through faith and obedience in Jesus Christ.

  • @higherground2050 1st iDont like nor do iDo what ifs..A. if the person is sincere & truly repentent & trying 2Walk with Christ he will recieve the Gift b4 he were 2Die.. & B. "IF" sum1 Dies b4 recieving it, & they were sincere & truly repentent & trying 2Walk with Christ, then iBelieve YHWH is aMerciful God & he is the only Judge, but iSimply DK, cuz that is Higher than My Understanding, that is Above Me & Youu. But can uBack up your belief/interpretation with Scripture like iHave? Can uDisagree

  • @JIIBlessed Well the fact is that these "what if" is a reality for millions of people. You are right, God is the Righteous Judge in the end not you or me. Also as a note, the Ethiopian Eunuch was saved by his faith and was baptized by Philip. The bible never said he spoke in tongues. Oh my goodness, what if he fell among thieves and died on his way back home without speaking in tongues. The core point of that story is that he was saved by his faith.

  • @higherground2050 oK, then since we are not the Judge, we should live by the Bible & Obey the Gospel & Christ, Riiight?

& What does that have 2Do with this? He wasnt baptized with the spirit yet? oK, uSaid yourself it takes aLotta people aLong time 2Recieve it. & yes, He was saved by Faith AND Obediance, as uSaid he was also baptized in the water. But uDeny my scriptures that clearly state without the Spirit uArent in Christ, yet. Can uBack up your belief/interpretation with Scripture like me?

  • @JIIBlessed I agree with you 100% brother that we need the spirit to be in Christ. Maybe the real question that you or anyone else on here can clear up is when or how will someone know when they have the spirit?

  • @higherground2050 iDo Not Subscribe 2The Belief that if uNever Speak in tongues, then uDont have the Spirit & uAre going 2Hell, thats not my place, iAm not the Judge. But the only Evidence everr given in the Bible is in Acts, Speaking in (other) Tongues.. Acts 10:45-48, 19:1-*6*, 2:1-4, 2:16-17, & any where in Acts where aPerson is Baptized with the HolyGhost(& Fire).. Look this up, read em studyfully, prayerfully, this is the only evidence. & As Paul said we all have the abilty...

  • @higherground2050 (If we have the Spirit) 2Speak in tongues if we wish.. 1Corinth 14, it is the Spirit making intercession & praying 2God 4Us..

  • @JIIBlessed ok brother. Thanks for your views. I think generally speaking we are both saying the same things. Thanks.

  • @higherground2050 No problem, really. iJus honestly have aBurden 4Truth, & souls.. & those 2 kinda go hand & hand. & Yess, now iThink we are. #Peace&LoveBeWithYouu

  • @higherground2050 John 14(:26) & 15(:26.. Romans 8:9 states clearly that "if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his." .. Romans 6.. & 10:16, 2Thess. 1:8.. & Remember Faith without Works is Dead, being alone. James 2.. Jus look it up & Study it aLil, bro. #Peace&Love

  • @higherground2050 with the Scriptures? Im jus sayin & tryna help & Inform..

  • @TriuneApostolic Had someone actually planned a miracle or faked something like that, I truly feel bad for them at judgement. Also to them that would sugest something not to be true that was.

  • Awesome job Dr Bernard

  • @TriuneApostolic I was there that evening in Dr. Bernard's church. The man was NOT given CPR. It was God that raised this elderly man up.

  • JW you is da man!

  • Thank you very much for posting this. I also rather enjoyed the pictures you used for the callers, lol.

  • What about 1 Cor 14:26? Every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue... Paul is writing to a Spirit-Filled church and stating they all have a tongue - surely this supports the view that Spirit-filled believers speak in tongues. This is in contrast to 1 Cor 12:30. Paul is clearly not contradicting himself, so the only logical explanation is that 12:30 is referring to the gift of tongues within the church operation and 14:26 in the personal ability to pray in tongues/the spirit
