Until the law is changed - police are going to do their job - which is to enforce the law....kind of a no brainer. These sideline quarterbacks who spew childish spittle at the cops doing their job don't help in the least. I don't see any cops doing that - yet another example of freestaters babbling about and acting surprised that someone in today's day and age could be arrested for dope when they advertise they are going to actually have/consume it. Duh.

This is very dangerous.

If police get into the habit of seizing people whilst out of uniform, and taking them away in unmarked cars, having refused to show police identification, it will become rather easy for criminals to arrange for people to disappear by simulating a plain-clothes police arrest.

Don't be fooled. There is no "freedom" movement here either. Basically - the gist of the freestaters has been smoking pot in public (and giving it to high school kids as seen in previous Ridley vids) and then yelling at police and later crying how unjust the world is. They are completely killing the legalization movement with their yelling/screaming antics.

Prohibition did not work for Alcohol and it is not working for marijuana. I have to also disagree their protest are bring attention to the issue. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Many in the civil rights movement told blacks to keep low and quiet or they would kill the civil rights movement.

I appreciate the thoughtful commentary but what happened to your camera? The footage was out of focus and even the interview is visually fuzzy at some points. I know that is kind of petty for such a serious issue but I am hopeful you have some better footage of the same event and are in the process of editing it. I hope NH will at the very least join the other 13 states concerning Medical Marijuana and work toward complete decriminalization.

It certainly would help the cause if they stopped gathering in downtowns and yelling and screaming obscenities through a bullhorn and acting like brats if a cop even drives by minding their own business. Same goes for them passing joints to high school kids - they are destroying any chance of marijuana being legalized.

Right on the ridley vids from last summer, two police officers are called to the 4:20 event in Keene for whatever reason. They are simply walking through, saying nothing, while getting badgered and baited by numerous people. Even Ridley commented it was too much. I suppose giving the 10th graders pot in the Keene PD lobby was your idea of giving grease too.

I'm sure there are many people who think this is about "pot", but actually it's about the kind of state that you want to live in, a state of fear or a state of freedom, free from an increasingly hostile, "untouchable" police force.

Try to get past the "pot thing" to see the larger issue, because victory is about trying to get the first domino of liberty to fall......
