Im not 100% sure, but in class they say that when you smoke marijuana for the first time 90percent of your brain shuts down and only 50percent or less of it will recover. it can also give u lung and kidney failure after consistent smoking.

Yeah, i know quite a few herb smokers as well as quite a few drinkers. None of the smokers i know seem to have it as a problem in their lives but, i know a handful of people who desperately need to stop abusing alcohol.

I have seen many babies having disabilities because their parents drunk alcohol during pregnancy. Alcohol harms your baby much more than cigarettes so why don't they write that on the bottles & cans? I don't know how it is in other countries but in the UK, I c pregnant women in pubs getting drunk all the time & a UK documentary said, it is not researched if alcohol harms babies. Me & my friend didn't touch any alcohol during pregnancy & in my country of birth, everyone knows it's harmfull.
I didn't smoke when pregnant with my first son & I took vitamins 4 pregnant women & iron tablets. He was born on time but very small & had a stroke right after birth. My friend had a baby 2 month b4 me & she smoked all the way through pregnancy & didn't take supplements. Her baby was massive. I smoked during second pregnancy & didn't take vitamins & iron tablets. My boy was massive also & was perfectly healthy & is much stronger. If a baby is meant 2 b sick, it's gonna happen either way.
It depends on the circumstances. If a smoker plans a baby, then they should stop well b4 it is conceived and if it wasn't planned, then better reduce or smoke just half than stop and eat healthy, do some exercise and relax. A heavy smoker is stressed without cigarettes and stress is a killer. You don't know what the person is going through during pregnancy. There are plenty of men who give their pregnant women a heart time and if cigarettes help her to relax, then better that than other drugs...

Nicotine occurs naturally in tobacco and nicotine is what makes tobacco addictive. I've smoked natural cigarettes with no additives and I've smoked normal cigarettes that contain the additives and you get the same nicotine hit from both smokes the only difference is taste.
People know the risks about smoking and they know that there are methods to help them quit if they want to (such as patches, medictation) but not all smokers want to quit though so they have the right to be able to smoke.

It's obvious that smoking is bad for you and even more obvious that pregnant women shouldn't smoke BUT there is a strange piece of evidence (which anyone can check for themselves) on the BUPA website. Go to the "pre-eclampsia" (dangerously high blood-pressure) statistics and you'll be amazed to see that there has never been a single case of pre-eclampsia with a smoking mother! Also breathing low-dose carbon monoxide fights infection and speeds healing! They use it for gangrene! Go figure.

I used to smoke for six years, then when I start gym I simply stopped smoking. I just wanted, and did. Before this, I knew all the bad things a cigarette causes, I knew, and I liked it, I liked cigarettes, cigars, I just liked to smoke, a millenial habit. And now that I´ve stopped I can tell you because I´ve been on both sides. 90% of the smokers smokes because they want to, consensually with all the harm the cigarette can do. My next door neighbor is 6 months pregnant and chain smokes.. she tells people that her Doctor advised her that the stress of quitting smoking might harm her baby more than then the nicotine and carbon monoxide from tobacco smoke would. Yeh Right.. I don't believe any Doctor in 2010 would ever tell any pregnant woman that. Im not 100% sure, but in class they say that when you smoke marijuana for the first time 90percent of your brain shuts down and only 50percent or less of it will recover. it can also give u lung and kidney failure after consistent smoking.

I personally don't see why ALCOHOL is legal. The DEA wants to pretend that Herb is illegal because it distorts perception and ruins judgment and dreams...all that.. Well, alcohol is quite evil compared to Herb. How many bar fights erupt because people are stoned and having deep conversations or making wonderful music? None, i think. Alcohol is a poison: FACT.
I don't deny that smoke of any kind is unhealthy but, cigarettes and alcohol are FAR worse for the user and society than Herb.

Herb, or the active ingredient, delta9,tetrahydrocannabinol, is a Class 1 controlled substance. Alcohol is not, and is regulated by the ATF.
Read the constitution. It will clearly state that congress has the power to regulate interstate commerce, which is the constitutional ground for both alcohol control and the Controlled Substance Act.
And also, alcohol is only "bad" when it is abused. There are studies that prove alcohol is beneficial when used in a non-abusive way...

Yeah, i know quite a few herb smokers as well as quite a few drinkers. None of the smokers i know seem to have it as a problem in their lives but, i know a handful of people who desperately need to stop abusing alcohol.

I also find that my second son and my friends daughter grow faster than other kids of their age and their brains are also more developed (they talk more and do more things than the majority) and that although we smoked cigarettes and didn't take supplements that were prescribed or recommended by GP's. I'm not saying that you are better off smoking during pregnancy but I have living proof that people are just making a mountain out of a molehill.

I have seen many babies having disabilities because their parents drunk alcohol during pregnancy. Alcohol harms your baby much more than cigarettes so why don't they write that on the bottles & cans? I don't know how it is in other countries but in the UK, I c pregnant women in pubs getting drunk all the time & a UK documentary said, it is not researched if alcohol harms babies. Me & my friend didn't touch any alcohol during pregnancy & in my country of birth, everyone knows it's harmfull.

I didn't smoke when pregnant with my first son & I took vitamins 4 pregnant women & iron tablets. He was born on time but very small & had a stroke right after birth. My friend had a baby 2 month b4 me & she smoked all the way through pregnancy & didn't take supplements. Her baby was massive. I smoked during second pregnancy & didn't take vitamins & iron tablets. My boy was massive also & was perfectly healthy & is much stronger. If a baby is meant 2 b sick, it's gonna happen either way.

It depends on the circumstances. If a smoker plans a baby, then they should stop well b4 it is conceived and if it wasn't planned, then better reduce or smoke just half than stop and eat healthy, do some exercise and relax. A heavy smoker is stressed without cigarettes and stress is a killer. You don't know what the person is going through during pregnancy. There are plenty of men who give their pregnant women a heart time and if cigarettes help her to relax, then better that than other drugs...

to reduce stress, nicotine patches can be used. At least the child will go without the carbon dioxide and the many chemicals that circulate the bloodstream just after smoking. Think about it. Smoking deoxygenates hers and the baby's blood, retarding growth. Yes, stress is rough during pregnancy but the mother needs to talk to her doctor and she needs to find creative ways to relax.

Well since heroin and crack are illegal there is no comparisson, however, it would be ok to sell alcohol a drinker. Alcohol and nicotine are both legal drugs so it's a far better comparison.
Tobacco companies are simply giving the people what they want, cigarettes. It's a simple case supply and demand. I have no problem with tobacco companies profiting off selling cigarettes. After all, they are supplying a product people willing choose to use so it's no different to any other business.

No its not, what about breweries & distilleries? Nicotine is no different to alcohol, which is just another addictive drug except alcohol is socially acceptable & doesnt get as much negative publicity. Beer & cigarettes even share a common carcinogen.
There are additives & preservatives in tobacco & every other product including Big Macs, put in to make it taste good & to make you want to buy it again.
Everybody who smokes knows the risks & as long as they are informed there is no problem.

sigh..., one more time, my point isnt about "additives" (which there are over 4000) but the things that BT puts in your smokes ON PURPOSE that make you addicted so easily, (and no i dont mean things that make it "taste good") that is ILLEGAL, 5 million people wouldnt die every year if tobacco companies didnt chemically alter their cigarettes to make them so difficult to stop smoking, no company has ever been allowed to get away with what they do, theres no "so-what" defense around this one sorry

Nicotine occurs naturally in tobacco and nicotine is what makes tobacco addictive. I've smoked natural cigarettes with no additives and I've smoked normal cigarettes that contain the additives and you get the same nicotine hit from both smokes the only difference is taste.
People know the risks about smoking and they know that there are methods to help them quit if they want to (such as patches, medictation) but not all smokers want to quit though so they have the right to be able to smoke.

you dont get the same amount of nicotine in commercial smokes compared to hand rolled smokes, scientists for big tobacco are constantly trying to change and enhance how your body absorbs nicotine along with a million other things blah blah, YOU are in denial, you throw the same points at me no matter how much i counter point what you say. if anyone reading this thinks like ARALEZTRI does, look up Brown & Williamson on google or wiki and find out just how much youre being used and lied to, le fin

The amount of nicotine varies from cigarette to cigarette, roll a heap of tobacco & dont use a filter & you will get a bigger nicotine hit than a commercial cigarette. Filtered cigarettes contain a range of nicotine averaging from 1mg-16mg with unfiltereds containing about 24mg. All comes down to a smokers brand & strength preference.
Noones being lied to, all the information is out there. If anything people are being lied to by the antismoking lobby group & their "passive smoking" propaganda
