@ICU2P Camera shutter speed is not fast enough.. Same reason when filming a plane prop or helicoptor blade it looks as if it runs slow, still, or backwards....
I recommend passive 15" domes with bug/bird grid shields. Turbines are ugly, produce noise, get blown off in high winds and since they're open, insects, birds and small rodents can enter your attic. I have 4 domes on my house, best $500 I spent.
@popstoastymonkey Stare into a fan blade a sit turns on, eventually the blade will be spinning just fast enough to appear like it's spinning in reverse, but just for a second.
@popstoastymonkey its actually spinning forwards realy fast, its like when you look at a moving cars wheels and it looks like their spinning backwards.
@Britton529 Im referring to when the car is moving and your looking at its wheels/hub caps, when the car is going fast it looks like the wheels are going backwards.
@Dalemoooooon Because the camera can only take so many "pictures" (frames) per second. Let's say a camera captures a frame when one of the wheel's spokes is pointed straight down. If the wheel is spinning at the right speed, the spoke can rotate all the way around to the point where it's just behind where it was before the camera captures another frame. So every time the camera captures a frame, the spoke looks like it moved right behind where it was. Your eyes work the same way.
It's just because the time that each vent opening passes is faster than the framerate of the camera that is filming it. The turbine is really turning clockwise.
I found this vid while looking at wind gens, It gave me an idea, why not put generator motors under those things? These things are sensitive to even the slightest breeze. This gives me an idea for building my next house, put like 10 of them on the roof and install a treadmill motor under all of them, link them to a circuit controller and then to a battery inverter system.
@UGLandrum Load a ventilator turbine down with a generator, chance are no longer sensitive to the slightest breeze. Probably not enough torque to break the magnetic fields lock on on the rotor.
@megan130 What a grumpy little cunt you are. The whole @ thing is what youtube is supposed to do when you click on reply on someone elses comment you dumb fucking cunt. Also make me mind my own business you stupid whore. This is the internet deal with it.

The bird was only trying to find a "warm" place to bed down...don't you feel sadden that you didn't bore a 1-1/2" hole on the side gable....make things right...birds need inside your building too!
Starlings are not native to the U.S. and are pests. They have caused the decline of many native bird spieces. They deserve no protection. Also, this is evolution in action. This incompetent bird is not procreating, although I wish the dumb ones would.

That just does further damage to their already LOW self-esteem.
In 1898 a dozen breeding pair of Starlings were imported from Europe and released in NY's Central Park! Now look! They are a noisy, rapacious, aggressive species that caused declines in native song birds such as the Eastern American Bluebird by taking nesting sites and food sources. One nested in my rural mailbox crapping on my mail - refused to stay out. Finally had to kill it which took much effort. Will nest anywhere, weather anything, and eat anything. Are a plague in the bird kingdom!

Birds can get confused because of the fast rotation.
Simply solved by painting a pattern on the blades.
