  • Round 1...fight...finish him...

  • Awesome! =D

  • Incredible- great job on both ends. And a great match up as well. When the spear switched to full reach i was half expecting the dual hooks to make the 6ft link.

  • Really cool, normally I'd expect hook swords to whoop spear since they could just disarm him or break his spear immediately, but he was really skilled and did better than I thought.

  • kabal and mavado swords

  • kabal and movado from mortal kombat

  • kabal wins!!

  • @beatles1ize haha... lol

  • Hook Swords are awesome!!!!!!!

  • @DarthBigBen This is really good, thanks for sending this to me.

  • is kabal :)

  • well that was pretty cool

  • Looks nice

  • Question: Did they really use Hook swords on the Battlefield?

  • @ishimorikuma duh

  • @ishimorikuma They were civilian weapons, so... probably not.

  • @ishimorikuma answer: yes they did, in fact it was one of the most popular shaolin monk weapons along with the rope dart and staff or spear, as well as to a lesser extent the chain whip.

  • NICE :D

  • Excellent. Looks very traditional.

  • tiger hook win!

  • @exhibitAfilms ..... it looks like there dancing

  • if you had a 45 acp it would have been over mins ago

  • i love how hook swords can easily (if used correctly) disarm and beat an opponent. And the fact that you can use one hook sword to swing the other for a farther reach is amazing. Hook swords are in my opinion one of the best close combat weapons.

  • very good!

  • good job guyz i thought my 2 man tiger form was kewl haha but this is bad ass

  • hook swords won this round

  • zuko vs jet city of walls and secrets

  • That was so BAD-ASS!!!!!!

  • hook swords + beast

  • nice :) i remember this, i was sitting in the corners right next to the spears lol but if any one thinks this is fast, you should've seen them actually perform in their actual speed at competitions, it blows this away!

  • good job!

  • is this a particular martial art? or just something else, if its a martial art please inform me of what it is as i currently own a pair of hook swords and been wondering what sort of form is required to properly master them

  • that does not look like any of the hookswords i eveer seen

  • The hookswords can be used as deadly weapons or are they just defensive weapons??

  • @telekynetic easily both if both sides are sharpened

  • in a way both

  • @telekynetic they can be used for both, they have quite a wide range of uses

  • what's the name of this form?

  • cool. not often do people show fluid two man sets that are traditional and not wushu. keep working hard.

  • oh and sorry but its kinda crummy )=

  • hahahaha twin hooks from the shaolin temple.......they can combine to make a medium-ranged attack

  • nice, both are skilled, just to me it seems like a set pattern to me. but then again thats just me =P

  • it is a set pattern, idk if u were being sarcastic

  • I think that's part of the point; as far as I can tell, they're demonstrating their skill with the weapons by going through a particular choreography. It certainly looks impressive.

  • excellent. now i'm gonna train with my staff more then step it up to the hookswords.

  • but still cool

  • dude there messing around if that guy was really good with hook swords he would have the spear guy disarmed in 15 seconds

  • very nice!!!

  • most impressive

  • good use of the swords and spear need to keep that in mind

  • UltimateAsian199, I agree with you that Wushu is Kung Fu. But, Wushu is not traditional Kung Fu. Nothing wrong with that. But, the two are different. That may be what the other poster(s) are referring to.

  • i love those hooks ancient arts is always cooler

  • you got to love those hooks

  • you know you dont have to a duche

  • lol you my friend are awesome

  • a gun are you kiding me once they get is close you dont have a chance

  • Pretty Good but if you a doing a form stances ought to be tad lower! Nice use of weapon control though!

  • Dang pretty good. I'm learning double hook swords too (I do wushu) and I'm trying to do that move where you hook the two hook swords together and swing them around your body.

Trust me ppl its hard to do double hook swords.

By the way for all you idiots out there kung fu and wushu THE SAME THING!!!

What's your kung fu class name?

  • Quero saber o site da Academia

  • the difference between doble boardsword and double hook moves are with double board sword u can do moves inside your elbow but with double hook u cannot..thats is the traditional northern way..but these days not too many ppl know about these, they use the same type of movement!!!very wrong

  • that was cool props

  • I like this. I think it is kung fu more than wushu. The "hooking" techniques weren't that clear though so it looked more like broadsword moves, but overall very nice form.

  • Good, I like your guys fight scene but i was kind of hoping that this video was kung fu not wushu.

  • ...this is kung fu.

  • then would you like to tell me why do they have wushu medals on their walls.

  • This is a kung fu school in Wisconsin, I trained there for three months so I would know. As for the medals, they may or may not be wushu medals i dont know but it doesn't necessarily mean the double hook swords vs spear is wushu. This is traditional bei shaolinquan which is more true to its lineage unlike wushu which is more of a present day style .

  • PARABENS

    Muito Bom

  • that is pretty hard stuff I am just starting to learn tiger form I already know bei shaolin form

  • where do you learn any of that stuff?

  • pretty cool, just looked like you could of dont it with double sabers and not many hook sword techniques. but i havent learned hook swords yet so i could be toatly wrong. i was just hoping to see you hook his spear! haha. great job.

  • Is this Gary or Kimba? Good job!!! Keep up on the good work... Glad to see the ZYKFA doing o good!!! Please tell Shifu Ferreira that Sifu VanWinkle said hi... I'm looking forward to coming out in may...

    ~Jason

  • Is this Garys of Kimbas youtube page?

    ~Jason

  • sorry bad spelling... I meant "or" not "of"...

  • This is Gary's youtube page

  • Thanks for sharing. hat style of martial arts is this?

  • No problem. The style is Bei Shaolin.

  • @jjjchang Bei Shaolin

  • i like it alot but just one question i do realize that it is a demonstration but why is the man with the hook swords attackind the head of the spear instead of the spear holders body?

  • The hook swords were being used defensively as to avoid getting hit by the spear tip. It is incredibly difficult to get in close to an opponent welding a spear. Many 2 person weapon sets involve defense against the spear as that weapon has the advantages of reach and sharp edge, and speed.

  • this is awesome!!

  • Great speed, timing, choreography, and technique! For those that haven't trained in 2-person fight sequences with weapons, it's waaaaay harder than it looks.

  • Imagine performing that very same set on 3 hours of sleep...this video demonstrates just that!

  • amazing
