  • the kids got annoyed and started to shave his feathers off his legs to make chicken nuggets thats why his legs are bald omg i just herd him say the f word f yea hees saying

  • quack quack!

  • @jacknsally11 Where are you located? Do you ever find macaws in need of homes?

  • What a cutie! If I were brave enough to get a large parrot, I think it would be a macaw. :-)

  • Awwww Jack is a motormouth!!!! i have a three year old B&G she learns new words a LOT...love Jack (glad he's feeling better now too)

  • lol i love this reminds me of ours. Zack and Katrina. Zack always says "Zacky poo, come here zach hello (when someone knocks at the door or the phone rings). and laughs too. and much more. Katrina dont talk much though. but she likes to whistle

  • We found Jack at a petshop in Ohio when he was 10 years old. At that time, he already had a large vocabulary. He learned other words quickly. We have a B/G female that is 10 years old and she doesn't talk nearly as much as Jack. We were told that when we enter the room in the morning, say the word that you want the parrot to say. That's when they are really paying attention. We were so lucky to find Jack!

  • You are really lucky to have him! He sure has a lot of personality!

  • How long did it take Jack to learn so many words? I have a 1 year old Scarlet Macaw and I hope she will talk this much! Is there any tricks to teaching them?

  • Does he/she ever bite? and does it hurt? i want one and it looks like they have a nasty bite, mind you i have an alligator snapping turtle so fear is out the question which i was never bitten from, im just wondering if it's in their nature to be aggresive? :O tyy

  • @zecrid Yes, Jack will bite and it does hurt. He doesn't like visitors so when they come near his cage, he will lunge at them. Once in awhile, he will do this to us but we just ask him what he thinks he's doing and he stops. lol We handle and play with Jack everyday but still we don't trust him no to bite. We have a female B/G and she is cage aggressive. I would hate to get bit by her. lol

  • @jacknsally11 When my birds are babies I constantly put my finger in their mouths, if they lick it I give them a treat, if they bite down I say No, and don't give them a treat.

Cage aggression is an issue with many birds. Maybe try taking her out and feeding her away from her cage. Also if she comes willingly always reward her.

  • @jacknsally11 have you ever tryed her out of the cage all animals are the same even exotics i have a well trained pitbull terrior i dont know how this is but i take her collor off for a couple days she tends to start biting harder one day she did draw blood off me put her collar back on she was fine it shows ownership n yea you reward them once in ahwile theyre free n they live a little. now wiith your fem mecaw since its been in a cage most of the time if im wrong n shees been out ok

  • i like the bit where the parrot talks

  • I don't even know why but this made me laugh so hard. Not good with muscular pain but fantastic in spite of it.

  • aw what a cute happy bird. you can tell he is happy and well taken care of. from what I've heard, parrots only really mimic when they're happy.

  • Her kitty kitty meow!

  • 1:02 Here kitty kitty DERP

  • this bird needs serious help from a good psychologist and mindful psychiatrist

  • @00stupid1 That is so true, lol If you know of any send them our way i could use one also, lol Thanks for the laughs!

  • @jacknsally11 put your male in the cage let your female out let her fly/walk arround you gotta think like a mammal we are them too not to b mean sitting in a cage is stressfull on a person too im not being like free the animals anything like that ive been cooped up in a cage ((jail)) n it sux your fem knows your her owner but shees like hey y is he out n not i or could be territorial like wtf is he doing here n out of his cage ill kick his butt umm first try a few minutes out

  • out of topic but how do you get the faces cause i do not now?

  • i love this video!!!

  • helloo I was wondering if youu could give me advice, im saving for a macaw.. which may take up to a year or so depending how much i save but my dad is telling me that im not allowed to get it because people will try and break in to the house to steal it... which isn't fair cause im willing to put all my money and time on this bird. I don't knoww what to do but i know that ii really want this bird but i dont want it to get stolen either, do you know of many macaws being stolen ? thankyouu

  • @kwaziibabii Hi,We have never heard of ayyone we know geting a macaw stolen. I would like to see someone try to steal our birds lol. If they are not familiar with you they would try to bite you if you try to grab them lol. You can get a chip put in the bird like you can for a dog so you culd identify him. It goes in his wing .They live to 70 yrs old so they become like family! Best pet you can have! And the only pet that will say he loves you ! Good luck!!!

  • @jacknsally11

thankyou for the advice =] muchly appreciated !

  • @kwaziibabii I have heard of this happening , and if they want your bird they will find a way to get at it, but make certain that you have good locks on the doors and that not that many people know that you have the bird and have really good locks on the doors and maybe even a security system. During times of a recession burglaries go up statistically

  • @kwaziibabii I have heard of this situation. If you go with a normal macaw like a Scarlet, B&G or Greenwing, I don't think you will have any issues.

Only birds that are at risk of being stolen are rare/expensive macaws like Hyacinths or Hybrid Macaws. I am getting a hybrid, so I plan to microchip the bird just to be safe.

I've recommend a Blue/Gold Macaw, they are absolute goof balls and very smart.

  • lol, "Bark like a dog! MEOW!"

  • so its a bird that thinks its a cat, a dog, and a duck? :P

  • the funny thing is that cats eat birds and he is calling for the cat....

  • excuse my ignorance but i thought only African Grey's speak, someone please Clarify this for me thanks!

  • @AXHEJAZ birds as small as a paraket/budgie can talk but the smaller the harder it is to teach.

  • That's a blue and gold macaw, right? I'm new to parrots but doing my research before I get one so I can take proper care of it.

  • bark like a dog, quack quack. lol

  • Love this video - he's adorable! :-) I miss my Macaw - she died recently. I rescued her in 1986. Jack is a hoot!

  • After 11 years of love and repetition, the only sound from my 27 year old Cockatoo is of splintering baseboards..... I applaud you both

  • WHATS SO WRONG ABOUT HIS FEATHERS

  • Bark like a dog

    Quack quack

    LMAO

  • 1:19 "bark like a dog. meow!"

  • :( this \video makes me miss my Macaw, She was an amazeing pet

  • I thought his feathers were good. As for the legs...um...my birds do the same. no worries from me. Really happy he's feeling much better.

  • so glad he's feeling better!

  • best parrot

  • my Catalina Macaw enjoyed this video!

  • Well I'd be saying "Pretty Bird" over & over too if I just regrew all my feathers & was all beautiful again. My boy chatters like that when he wants atten. He watches these vids & copies... the other day he was even dancing like a grey he saw. I'd never teach him to call kitty tho cuz kitty's well trained & lazy, but I wouldn't risk it just in case. Cuz my cat might answer the call & get mad when he doesn't get a treat!

  • My Nanday Conure is sitting here with me right now imitating Jack as he talks, it's so funny. Jack's very smart, I hope he feels better soon. B&Gs are such beautiful birds.

  • i have a blue and gold macaw named jack:)

  • Lol always thought it'd be neat to have a parrot call a cat :D Too funny.

  • @TheMysticnorth That is funny lol, thank you!

  • We have a blue and gold, and we've found that a chemical free home helps out a lot with preventing stress and getting sick. I know of a great company that has all chemical free products and they're prices aren't outrageous if you'd like to know.

  • @pinklthorse Ya, that would be great if you could post the link, Thanks so much

  • Don't do it kitty! It's a TRAP!!!!!!!!

  • So delightful!

  • Very neat bird, and obviously well-loved and cared for. Gotta say though....that non-stop chatter would drive me nuts, but I reckon that's why I have a cat instead of a bird, LOL.

  • I used to have one Macaw, he was called Attila, He was my best buddy indeed, so clever, so fun, we played football! And he loved to scream GOOOOOOAAAALLL!!!! whenever I let him do one.

Once he started to pluck his feathers, but he never stopped, he hurt himself, nobody was able to treat him, and saddly one night he screamed my name in a way I never heard before, so I run to meet him, I took him in my arms, he said my name ..and died. I cried an ocean, but I was so lucky to have him. :)

  • @cheezpizzah Lol , We dont give him anything he just does what he wants when he wants lol. We don't even lock him in his cage unless we get company. He don;t bother nothing unless we bring a laundry basket in then he will say hi, baby, as he pulls all the cloths out an emptys it lol. • r macaws as hard to own as some ppl say im looking for my 1st bird but i have alot of bird experence i study avian biology and work with birds on weekends, what are some needed things u need 2 have/do to keep a friendly macaw and keep it friendly

  • @ghosty1490 You have alot more backround than me and we have 2 macaws and an eclectus. You need a good vet and time to spend with the birds. They cost as much as a large dog to maintain, and you can make your own toys, paper towel tubes and unfinished pine wood from lowes cut in chunks works also.I get little dog toys like stuffed animals from walmart so they can unstuff them lol. I also got a mop head for 2.00 and tied it to the cage, they love it lol. Hope this helps, love jack!

  • @jacknsally11 ty very much how where your 2 macaws with bitting, i heard with macaws its not that big a problem but once u make them bite they can bite hard. and how would some1 do with 1 in there bedroom

  • @ghosty1490 They dont bite us but will try to get a stranger, lol. If they get scared from something they can bite you but it doesn't scare me. Jack n sally never really bite. Its more of a hard pinch, but they could bite hard if they want lol. My little eclectus bit me harder than jack or sally ever did lol. We keep our birds in the living room where we are 90 percent of the time because we work at home. Just spend alot of time with him ,you will love him like a family member,or more lol.

  • i want one someday.:) when i was in h.s. i used to walk back home . there was this group of 5 kids in front of us walking and they were loud , laughing at the bird and telling him to shup up then the bird owned them. macaw yelled "YOU SHUT UP!!" my friend and i couldn't stop laughing

  • whrn birds pluck themselfs it means that they are boared not cause they are sick we have 2 birds were i live and they do the same thing

  • @TheGeniveve That is true but with jack he had a bacterial infection on the surface of his skin which caused the plucking. He grew all his feathers back and never plucked again, and we are thankful for that lol.

  • OMGosh he is too cute and quite a chatterbox. Bingo, our b&g will talk your ear off till someone walks in with a phone, then he suddenly becomes bashful lol

  • Soon seeing birds will be as unusual as to see a bear or wolf in the forest. Fact is that beard species are disapering at a fast rate because of human involvment as everyting from inceticide, littering, to deforestation and mining are killing the bird species - what a shame.

Se my article about the matter at

  • My macaw has light plucking on his legs. I think it is normalish. Love this vid!

  • My eclectus plucked all his feathers after the girl died, we havent got good vets around here for exotic birds

Do you recommend a color to stop him from plucking? I dont want him to be upset by it

  • @SoSoniLove We have a male eclectus too. Last Sept. we adopted a female for a companion for him. I made the mistake of not taking her to our vet right away and she had bird lice. Our male got lice from her. We realized it when he started to pluck his feathers. He was on medication for the lice for 3 or 4 weeks. Now, his plucking has become a habit, and he won't stop pucking out his new feathers. The vet gave us a medication for depression. It's not working. The vet said we could try a collar.

  • What a talker, I have 2 macaws myself. Love them!
