@Firbychannel It is a spell that does 300 damage to hp (not shields) to all the units hit by the red stuff. But it leaves the unit with 1 hp (so it never kills).

@jerphunter This is Starcraft Brood War professional game with korean commentary. A zerg unit, the defiler, used an ability called Plague, which slowly deals damage over a long time. The units that got hit with plague were Science Vessels, expensive support units that are very important in Zerg vs Terran. Its kinda hard to see but the whole pack of vessels got hit with plague, so it was a big deal.

I dunno why he didn't use restoration with his medics, oh well.

@TheSlugOfLove No one ever researched restoration. Waste of resources and waste of energy. If mech units get plagued you repair them once plague runs out, if its bio you try to wait out the plague and then have medics heal. Restoration is worse than optic flare.

@Reav3rz Plague was a spell in BW that the defiler could use. Plague does 25 damage per second for a maximum of 295 damage, but it cannot kill units. Science vessels, on the other hand, were terran air units that had an ability called Irradiate which does 250 damage over 30 seconds to the targeted unit and certain units around it. Basically science vessels were the bane of any zerg's existance. Gorush managed to hit a plague on all of NaDa's science vessels, lowering their health to 1.

Plague is a spell the defiler (zerg unit) can cast in brood war. If you're a starcraft II player, compare it to like an infestor, only it requires hive tech and is even better. It costs 150 energy and casts a spell with a moderately large size area effect and all the units in the area go down to 1 health over like 30 seconds, i think (aside if the units got ludicrous amounts of health)

Also don't forget that once Consume is also researched, it technically costs 75 minerals per use (Consume three Zerglings to restore 150 energy)

@6400loser Plague is an offensive Zerg spell hits one unit/building and any other unit/building within a 4x4 matrix of the target. Plague then deals to 300hp of direct damage over 25 seconds to the affected units, but cannot actually kill anything by itself. Zerg plagued seven of Terran's Science Vessels (which have 225hp), effectively destroying Terran's mobile detection, without actually having to risk units to go and try to kill them.
