  • U mad bro???

  • Gen Y doesn't care about anything you say because it will all change in the future.

  • you're a classic sqaudouche

  • P.S. Get a real job, Jason

  • I agree that Gen Y has unrealistic expectations, but that because a lot of parents have unrealistic expectations, like telling us we need to make $60,000 right out of college so we can give them Beamers as gifts for raising us, or that just because we fail at one thing means that we abandon ship and don't try again. But if you're going to blame anyone for America tanking, take that stick out of your ass and hold the people who actually got us here accountable.

    Sincerely,

    A Gen Y-er

  • I pretty much agree....until he said Gen Y is tanking the country. Aren't their 10 years left for this generation to come of age? Aren't the ones who started senseless wars (Vietnam, Iraq, etc), put this country into debt, caused the fall of companies like Enron, buying out politicians, cut funding from education and put more money into prisons (may just be a PA problems) all from the BABY BOOMER generation or Generation X at the earliest?

  • This rant is all hogwash, and it has little to do with Gen Y.

If anything, it's 80s values, which Gen Y brought back for a while in the 00s.

  • and its hard for me to take this guys point seriously when he saying we are a lame generation while he is sitting behind a computer and making web videos. lol. sorry for my loser blue collar genes.

  • and lets look at the 60's that generation was a bunch of rich college kids that smoked weed and never got jobs until the early 80's . its hilarious that our generation, yeah the generation that is inventing and building civilization faster than any previous generation is called lazy. born in 88, work 12 hour days at a factory where my supervisor, who is a generation older than me doesn't give anyone the time of day for putting in work while he sits on his cell phone in his office. pretty ironic

  • another point, every generation calls the prevailing generations lazy, you don't think people from the late 1800's who walked and rode horses everywhere called the new 1900's people lazy because they could just get in a car and drive without putting in any effort. and then when those people grew up you don't think they called the next generation lazy with their t.v.'s and microwave ovens, "these lazy bastards can't even cook their own meals" its been going on forever.

  • people complain about the mentality of gen y and that they rely to heavily on their parents, we what the fuck when you have to go to school until your mid 20's just to get a job, how the hell do you think people are going to act.

  • past generations could drop out of school at an early age and start working and back then it was trial and error basis they brought you into a job and if you caught on they kept you if not you looked for another job. today if i don't have schooling or prior 4 years experience in something i can't do it, i won't even be considered for a job.

  • the problem with the statement that gen y is a lazy generation is beyond unreasonable. Do you know why this generation feels like they deserve so much, because just to get a job at wal mart you have to have a diploma, to get any slightly significant job you have to have a college degree.

  • lol - we never got sht for participation in the 90s in elementary school or highschool. im gen y born in 89

  • 70-80% of the Y generation? Honestly hes right on so many points but with all do respect SHUT UP... He needs to stop jerking off his own ego on how competitive he is and stop making up stories about how he kicked peoples asses... the people hes talking about make up at most 5-10% of MY generation... he should be a little more concerned about how people in his own age group and the baby boomer generation FUCKED this country up beyond recognition...

  • The current top 2 comments are the same and both mention stepping on other people to get to the top. Never did the maker of this video say anything like that. He is purely talking about entitlement that Gen Y believes they deserve. You absolutely can make your own definition of success; however I'm sure we can all agree true success is being able to take care of our families while having excess, that is success. You will NEVER be able to if your keep up your infant-like whining. Born in 1992

  • This is coming from a member of Gen Y. This man speaks the truth. I know you don't want to hear it, but it's true. I know a lot of you are probably all about this occupy wallstreet movement thinking you're doing something by being rebels, smoking weed and posting on tumblr, but you're not doing ****. It's time to step up. It's not about riches, fancy homes or fancy cars. It's about building a sustainable future for yourself and your family if you choose to have one.

  • Anyway, there is much I could say but I will call it a day.

  • No one gave me nothing in life, I get no financial help.(never have had), my first car was a 1974 Mazda Capella but things are still tough.

  • I do agree with much of what this guy says but damn he blows a lot of smoke up his own arse. Btw - Im Gen.X

  • Your definition of success means NOTHING to me. I don't want to climb to the top of a ladder by stepping on others"

I agree that "success' is subjective, but how about another definition. Find something you are naturally talented at and that gives you pleasure and THEN work HARD to produce something that make this world a better place. Talent, hard work, patience and perseverance, does not mean having to step on other peoples shoes to accomplish something of unique and lasting merit.

  • Didn't they call Gen-X a bunch of lazy slackers and all that crap? History repeating it's self perhaps? Gen-X is starting to sound more and more like the Baby Boomers that they loathe. How is Americas crappiness our fault? We were kids when most of the country made the financial mistakes they did to get us in this crisis. It's hard to vote when you're 9. We were the 1st generation(and probably last) of crack-babies.Thanks to the boomers, and xers for all the cocaine usage in the 80's and 90's.

  • So Jason's mad because he have more self-esteem than you do???

  • fuck off dude

  • I never received medals or trophies when I was younger, and none of my teachers coddled me.

I depend on myself everyday to live by my means.I pay my dues by busting my ass.I need nobody to hold my hand.

That's all I'm going say about that.

  • Nice rant. I am a member of Generation Y. I always win.

  • Me as a Gen-Y(I was a teenager in the 90s), believe that Jason is right.

Before the mob starts running at me with rakes and torches think about this: There HAS TO be a moment where when you as an individual should be able to pay your life: your bills, live on your own(or be able to any day, if needed).

You don't get that reading twitter/fb all day. You have to earn a life: go get a job/fund a company, and produce. Be responsible.

We the GenY, need to stop been kids and start been adults.

  • I REFUSE TO SETTLE for a low paying job. Times are different and the cost of living is sky high. So, sorry if I won't slave away to a job that is ultimately saying to me Fuck you, I'll pay you what I want, you sacrifice your personal life, and maybe I'll pay you later. NO. There is better out there, and we'll find it or take it by force.....FUCK OFF!!!

  • 6)

Last thing I can not speak for all of my gen on this but I know I want to grow. That is were happiness comes from growing but allowing those above you to control how you grow will only twist your growth. I do not want the church, the gov, the banks, mainstream media or wall street to twist my growth.

  • 5)

If any thing is wrong with our gen is we are afraid. One interesting theory that I seen is the milinal gen witch is Gen Y and Z are going to be the Hero Gen like the GI gen. But here is the problem we have no out side enemy we have to fight. Our leaders are trying hard but they are not working as well, Bin Laden Saddam Hussein. We do not have one thing to fight for. We do not have a Hitler of a Stalin coming from a far away land.

  • 4)

Entitled, we may be coming out with that but look at the gens that are taking most of the entitlement programs. BB Gen GI Gen are taking SS, and we will not see a dime when our time comes. Many Xs are taking unemployment. We what to push our self to our potential. Now some of us will not make the sacrifices but we seen what happened to those that settled. And their are so many management and executive position to pass around. So you can work hard but be in a job that is not for you.

  • 2)

Gen Y is materialistic, true but so were other generation. Baby boomers may had the hippie attitude when they are young but then they had the he who has the most toys when. They buy covets and boats. Look you need a car to get to some jobs and do work or run business. Our gen have some electronics we do not need like a PS III but some we do if we want to keep up in work and business like Wi Fi and a Computer and maybe a cell phone. I do not use a smart phone.

  • 2)

I will agree with you that the Gen Ys that are starting their own business are going to be ahead and if any of you Gen Ys out their have a strong dream maybe you should do a business on that on the side until you get a reputation, stop buying games every month and put it in your business on the side. It can add security in the long run as well, if you got fired. Also you may need to get a business so you can make income and it may be cleaning pools.

  • 1)

Gen Y is not a "good worker" because the businesses will not return the loyalty. OK some people need to get off there asses and there are lazy people out there. But every Gen has their share of lazy people. Every Gen had their lazy and about the same amount. Gen Y is not settling with work they had because their parents did and made great sacrifices and then lost their jobs anyway. Not only that they lost their retirement pension to some companies will the Ex got a Golden parachute.

  • There's nothing to really go for....I am a Gen Y and all I want to do is live.

  • You're a jerk. You conflate taking anti-depressants with being a "loser." It takes more strength to seek help when it's needed than to ignore it than it does to rant about Gen Y.

  • U mad bro?

  • So I feel like generation Y is definitely represented in the comment section of this video.

  • God I fucking hate Baby Boomers. Such fucking tools.

Gen Y is about doing what you want, whenever, which is both good and bad.

  • @BlowBackBenny It's all in what it is that you "want".

  • No one named "kyler" can kick ass. You sir are a fucktard

  • You sir are a fucktard, no one named "kyler" can kick ass.

  • You sir are a fucktard, no one named "kyler" can kick ass.

  • I'm a loser but you're a faggot

  • I have never wanted to punch someone more than I did at the end of this speech.

  • Because you just participate, uh?

  • u are an arrogant fool u are not that special. be careful and u stupid man

  • not true, participation means something u are a fool

  • Jason, this is a fantastic rant. Generally speaking, rants and rambles are never perfect. But the whole country, and maybe not just GenY, need a huge kick in the ass. Once in a while people need to fight to solve problems, not just sit around waiting for government or their employer or somebody else to fix everything for them or give them something to do. Go do something yourself people!

  • @wordifier

In that regard you are 100% correct. Why is it so hard for you to understand that my anger was geared toward the asshole who said that people from the ages of 15-25 were the reason the Planet was so jacked up? That doesn't even make sense. Obviously it was the previous Generations that caused our current situation. It will be up to us to fix it all. But that is why I can tell you the gen x and previous screwed us. But now that is irrelevant.

  • @farberam "Obviously it was the previous Generations that caused our current situation." In a sense yes, but in another sense it's not obvious at all. GenX screwed you? In what way? GenX is the smallest cohort in modern memory, and has scarcely ascended to any positions of real power (the Baby Boomers have the real power in this country). Really, I'd like to know... please be specific.

  • @farberam Think about it man. Jason is kind of doing you a favor. If his description of the people who don't compete and don't want to win doesn't fit you, then just ignore it. The people who waddle around in life with no passion for winning ARE a problem. They DO need a swift kick in the rumpus. What Jason is saying is wise preparation for the world economy. Like it or not, we have to compete to win. That's it, and it's an excellent point.

  • hate it or love it but he's right ....there's a new paradigm in this workforce.... most people want their 9 to 5 jobs and nothing else ...guess what it's a global economy....the competition is everywhere now

  • Hey Jason, maybe try a different color T-shirt, all I can see is a head and 2 arms. You make a good point though, even if you do so in a irritating way.

  • Generation Y is not buying this crap. We work hard to care each other. We don't compete, but get more creative. - CREATIVITY IS WHERE IT'S AT, my friends.

It's got NOTHING to do with genetics, it's the fucking environments you X-A generations left us with and now we have to climb out of a deep hole you previous generations dug for us.

If you hang under assholes, guest what?....You get shitted.

  • I know too many people that tried hard and got nowhere. You're a fucking liar or fucking stupid, in that order.

  • Wow i hate you so much.

  • Hey Jason, I'd just like to let you know that I am a 26 year old Gen Y'er and your definition of success means NOTHING to me. I don't want to climb to the top of a ladder by stepping on others all the way up just so I can get to the top and say "Hey everybody, look at me! Look at my shiny luxury car and my big fancy house and all this meaningless SHIT that says I'm better than you!" I will make my own definition of success independent of established norms and if you don't like it then fuck you.

  • @damaged01

That's what the Native Americans/Red indians say too but people are racist to Native Americasn and hateful to Gen Y cause beliefs are similiar.

  • @damaged01 Care to explain what you mean by making your own definition of success? Fuck, get real, you can generate more prosperity and increase the general level of happiness of others if you can achieve the highest position in what ever profession you undertake. If you want to be a passive hippy pondering about why life is so miserable, then obviously you 'are' the reason for others' misfortune in that a vision of hope for a better future cannot be fulfilled because of a fear

  • @MrGurthanthoclops of your own success, which makes no sense. Stepping on others has a negative connotation that would mislead one to think that their future is void once they have missed their opportunity for success. If the other's well-being is more significant than yours, then continue being a self-loathing loser, become self sufficient and thrive on a symbol of humility.

  • @MrGurthanthoclops And I must say, I am highly entertained that you scrolled back through 8 pages of comments to find mine to flame me. :)

  • @MrGurthanthoclops I'll give you the short version answer. Acheivement based success, especially in the economic sense, is largely irrelevant to me. Nor do I care for or about the heierarchies humans construct as measures of individual status, value or worth. My own personal idea of success is geared towards personal growth and happiness derived from within. I am not a self loathing loser, or a hippie or anything like that, I simply don't care for our system.

  • A Troll Bait video.

  • Its FUNNY how he has a fuckin Gen Y inspired computer...

  • ok lets all go to work and stab each other in the back,,,sounds like what hes saying,,,typical RAT

  • Your accomplishments are equal to a rat passing gas. Insulting 80% of a developing generation will not result in any further success. If you believe in climbing the corporate ladder by stepping on the fingers of others in hopes of one day owning them, then I fear your generation has not learned from the past and will repeat the horrors of history. I believe in Generation Y, and we will trample your aging asses into the ground and own/build the future together! - 1990 GEN Y and Proud!

  • Comment removed

  • Thumbs up if youre a Gen Y and are watching this at work instead of doing what youre supposed to.

  • Jason, you are obviously fearful that you don't have half of the potential, talent and open-minded nature that the gen y's have. This is offensive and discriminatory and the only 'loser' is sitting on this video waving his arm like he's making a point. I feel bad for you because you obviously feel so awful about yourself and so many doubts about your path in life that you are lashing out at others who appear to be thinking differently. Think outside the box and pop a zoloft or two will you!

  • Hey jason what happened that ur so pissed? you get ur ass kicked by a couple of kids for that fagget ass lisp of urs. ur generation has created this peice of shit state of economy and handed it to us at its worst and ur not gonna feel a little bad? eat shit, enjoy my social security ass whole

  • I was born in 1988.Calacanis completely bashed 80% of my generation for ruining the world. the oldest of Gen Y are turning 30 next year. Do some math. ALL of the problems in the world today were caused by baby boomers and Gen X. That is why Gen Y distanced themselves from this reality. Because it's been fucked by those two. if we are screwed it is their fault. not because they coddled us, but because we inherited the biggest piece of crap called a society.

  • @farberam Every generation blames the previous generation until they realize there's nobody left to do anything about it but themselves.

  • @wordifier

my generation has had nothing to do with what has happened in the past decade. we were all children. this past decade was screwed up by those raised us and the ones who raised our parents. we are the product of the past 10 years. most definitely the most fucked up decade in the past 60 years. this guy jason, is a damned fool. just because my generation HATES this world we grew up in does not make us losers. if anything it makes us patient.

  • @farberam "my generation has had nothing to do with..." So what? Every generation has inherited problems. The most messed up decade in 60 years? Please. You have NO idea what privileges you have today compared to past decades. It's absolutely fantastic. Stop being so ungrateful and give thanks for the great things you HAVE inherited... and get busy fixing the rest. The "wahh wahh" attitude is for losers. Patience is the virtue of losers.

  • @wordifier

You have to be kidding me....We have inherited three wars going on right now, the oldest one has been going on for ten years now. we have inherited a national debt that is just a huge freaking joke and if you say "SO what blah blahquit being a pansy" then you are just not getting what I am trying to say. My generation has problems to clean up that no other generation has ever had to solve. Then there are the looming energy, food, and water crisis's on the horizon. what an inheritance

  • @farberam Not kidding. <5K U.S. troops have been died in the Middle East in the past ten years. In Vietnam we lost 58K. In WW2: 417K. "My generation has problems to clean up that no other generation..." Every generation does. "Then there are the looming..." Your mentality is total loser, complete panic, oh my god we should be given credit for having hard problems. BFD. Everybody has problems. Get to work and do something about it and stop whining about past generations.

  • @wordifier

Don't throw a death toll in my face sir. My mentality is that of a decisive win. Your generations have destroyed this society and are therefore the losers. My generation is about to usher in the greatest civilization in history. But it will be the convoluted like yourself that will not understand it, that will say it is garbage. but you wont be able to stop us. we will control the world in a decade. So no matter what you have to say. We win.

  • @farberam If you don't like body counts, then don't count wars. Look, what we really ought to be doing is figuring out what will fix problems. Generational arrogance doesn't accomplish anything. The rest of your comment is megalomaniacal talk. Ah, the arrogance of youth. Good luck with that. Can't wait to see what methods you will employ to end evil and all those who practice it...

  • @farberam The funny thing is, you talk about controlling the world in the future, and end by saying "we win." You think previous generations want to withhold control? Heck no. Every generation has people who do what they have to do. Think you can do better? I sincerely wish you the best. But don't think inheriting "control" of the world is some kind of win. Control? All you have to do for that is not die. Discernment is much more important than control. You'll learn that someday.

  • this is why your generation screwed up the world, dick.

  • See Generation Y, this is a good example of the kind of people we need to stand up to. Jason don't mess with this generation!

  • Comment removed

  • How is Gen Y screwing up the country? The people in charge are Gen X.

  • I'm 23, Ive had shit happen, my family went bankrupt and we are constantly in danger of being kicked onto the streets despite the fact that my dad is a god of a cardiologist. I'm part of the Y's who faces foreclosure. Our world is technically more cutthroat than yours ever was, by definition we BECOME competitive against each other, we dont need anybody to make us do that. cool it with the dominate shit. I'd like to raise a good family and be an aerospace engineer at the same time.

  • Eastern Russian countries?

  • nice lisp.........

  • youre a fag

  • know what i hate when you decide to sterrotype 70 to 80 million people as lazy slackers who are ruining america. wow fckin wow, know what we value our relationships more then we do work because people are more important than products. gen y will do great things you might not agree with what we do, how we do it, how we act and most of us don't really care.

  • biggest difference between X and Y is Y wont kill Its neighbor to Control Its land. Also Y isn't lame. Were faster, stronger, smarter, and were going to live a hell of a lot longer.

  • hêhe_î_signëd_úp_ät_full_tîlt_pökêr

  • You make some good points however lets not forget about the parents (hovering or helicopter parents) who instilled these habits in today's kids. Parents how say, 'everyone is a winner' or 'here is a trophy for losing'. There is always two sides to every story. Remember, when you point, there are 3 fingers pointing back at you.

  • fag

  • I am a part of Gen Y and I think this man does make a good point about many of us needing to get off our asses. However, to think that "America is tanking" because of our generation who is nowhere near being in charge yet is retarded.

  • technology has been progressively sucking the humanity out of the last 3 - 4 generations. gen X was just as disillusioned by the world they were offered as Ys. the only difference was us Xers didn't live under political correctness and we had parents who were legally allowed to smack us. the entertainment industry turned them into consumers and entertainment junkies. I feel sorry for Gen Y because they are the first generation to be truly brought up in a digital era.

  • Okay, look. GEN Y has been taught to DO OUR BEST, regardless of who "wins". When you have a team of people doing their best, you are still going to get a job done, most likely with very good results. Guess what you and cavemen have in common? COMPETITION. Guess what civilized man has in common? COOPERATION. Just because you're IN class doesn't mean you're participating - you have to raise your hand and then take action! THAT'S participation. Get the association?? Get your crap straight, dude.

  • This guy is a pompous jackass. Gen Y didn't send America's manufacturing backbone overseas, nor did they bring the budget deficit to its current astronomical level. My generation certainly has problems and I don't really identify much as a typical denizen of Y. However, taking the piss on Gen Y as this asshole's doing is just missing the mark. We were raised by baby boomers, who were incredibly bad parents.

  • I think the rant has merit but I also think a lot of the complaints miss the mark. Participation isnt worthless. Viewing participation as the GOAL makes it worthless. Participation was shoved down Gen Y's throats because it was meant to get the kid out there, to experience life, find that thing to be passionate, not settling. It came from the Boomers and Gen Xers that did everything they were "supposed" to do and were miserable for it. The lack of "follow through" is what caused the problem.

  • @reggie0 Thank You, I have a great deal of respect for you simplifying this rant into a simple form for people to understand.

  • I am Gen Y, and I am a chess grandmaster. The whole point of life is to be laid back and have fun. It's about fulfillment, practically all the worlds problems are because of this killer instinct and drive to dominate that this jackass speaks about. The youth of today is highly motivated and intelligent, but not in officially accepted manners.

  • @ leapingfury How about defining what you mean by that. Most Gen Y, I tend to see around me, do not act in a responsible fashion. I tend to see your attitude as the thing that caused the world to collapse into the first Dark Age. You remind of the young people of The Roman Empire, and they only cared about instant pleasure and gratification. I usually see the negative results of this attitude, which, is why we tend to have a Child Protection Services in the first place.

  • @leapingfury To continue with my rant on this subject. How about your attitude contributing to all sorts of irresponsibility? Are you going to continue your attitude when you knock someone up when your, "having fun?" Doing things, only for the sake of pleasuring yourself will hurt people long term. Oh, and when your starving to death in a few years down the road. I bet you won't be having your kind of attitude anymore. Wait, I hear CPS knocking on your door? Did we neglect a kid?

  • @leapingfury How about when people spend all their money on instant pleasure? They usually end up homeless and starving on the street. Do you have a rich mommy and daddy that can subsidize your lifestyle? You are an example of why people fear us coming into power. I am also a chess player, and usually when you are careless with your defenses and vunerabilities of your position in play. You are vunerable to attack by other players.

  • @leapingfury Being a chess grandmaster doesn't make you a master of life. In fact most grandmasters have terrible personalities and are maladjusted freaks. Furthermore, the need to mention it in this context is either the height of arrogance or a completely inept understanding of the relationship between chess board analytical intelligence and intelligence on any other level. Didn't think much about your positional strategy before making that comment, did you? Shah mat my friend. Shah mat.

  • @leapingfury Being a chess grandmaster doesn't make you a master of life. In fact most grandmasters have terrible personalities and are maladjusted. • @wordifier Imagine a guy who can get laid with almost any woman in the world. A man who is a fearless intellectual. Most grandmasters I know are not maladjusted, they are heroes. Most genuine grandmasters have families and million dollars businesses, other hobbies and a real life outside of the world of chess. If anything, you seem to assume that anyone who is passionate about a subject is somehow messed up!

  • @leapingfury I've known grandmasters, not made assumptions. One of the worst things you can do is underestimate your opponent. But be careful young friend, or you will calculate your way into misery.

A grandmaster in chess who can't distinguish "your" from "you're" is a sad state of affairs. Cheap references to the Roman Empire (which you clearly have not studied), and CPS (which you only know by reputation), reveals you as a fraud.

Your lines are weak. But thanks for playing.

  • @wordifier I never used "your" in a sentence and I never referred to the Roman Empire. You have me mistaken for someone else.

  • Cooool go suck a fatty

  • This is pathetic. Kick the ass of the humans around you, so corporate owners can make a buck and dangle rewards over your head. He's literally like a lab rat. The "trophy" is the fulfillment itself, if it's not just air-headed hedonism. Productivity, even if it doesn't "make money" outweighs any of this suck-your-boss's-dick "I'm a winner" sadness.

  • @jackdtroughton Really? Last time I checked, it is still the only realistic way to advance. I remember history and The Soviet Workers paradise was destroyed, it collapsed, under it's own weight I might add. Do you really think that its going to work again? You are what he talks about. Oh, and the socialist countries of Europe are facing quicker bankruptcy, and total chaos. I think of psychology, Maslow, and Pavlov come to mind, and you are the perfect example.

  • @acousticfreeze I'm sorry dude, I think you misread me a little. I'm not opposed to work ethic, and from that angle, I agree with this guy's view. Culturing to expect shit handed to you does not a motivated workforce make. But the idea that a worker should excel and improve themselves can't be presented so blind to the cause you're working for e.g. Working the best and hardest is no virtue if it's for a company that purposely pollutes. And the idea of "society" precludes the selfish tone of this

  • @jackdtroughton My apoligies dude, thanks for clarifying that to me.

  • @jackdtroughton That just shows how much you don't know. Busting your ass at work for a big company gives you the ability to learn the business and make money while doing it. In my industry big companies can't keep the hard workers and bold workers because they go out on their own and make real money. The people stuck at big companies are there because they like the security and don't want change. That is fine for some but not the people this guy talks about.

  • @EasyEs If you're immature enough to think "business" and 'money" are worth anything....

  • @jackdtroughton Oh you are so above it all. I suppose that living in a society with glasses, cancer drugs, fruit for people living in northern climate is not worth something. My business and money are worth something to a doctor who treats people with my tax $ and the people who use what I help create. I think it is safe to say you never created wealth in your life.

  • @EasyEs I don't negate that indirectly, this wealth transfer enables good to be done, but it's the resources, not the currency, that is required. The VAST majority of this wealth creation is what creates poverty for billions, super-bugs resistant to antibiotics, and egregious misuse of our natural resources for profit. The tools and medicine and food we have don't require money, just resources. Living in the economies we do, we live "above it all". I am poor, "amongst it all", and happily so.

  • @jackdtroughton well then you create a strawman because no one works for the lines of code or paper money. The reason that so much is wasted around the world is in large part because people are not free to organize to be productive and there are many things messing with the price signals that help use scarce land labor and capital.

  • @EasyEs Well then when we say wealth, we both refer to the resources and the creative and labour potential of our fellow beings and the means of accessing them?

  • @jackdtroughton hmm yeah I say that would be true, not sure about the creative potential as much as the end result of that potential being put into use. I work with many brilliant Russians, who could have made their former home the USSR wealthy but were not able to.

  • @EasyEs And I would include that end result in the initial potential, so we run into a language problem :P

  • @jackdtroughton As per usual in any debate. That said i went from making 5k to about 120k over the space of a year. Money will not make you happy. The freedom and options it opens up to you can though.

  • @EasyEs One is only as free as their purchasing power in this system ;) I'm doing my best to change that, as I don't think we have enough money on the planet to make the changes we need to make more people happy.

  • if you mean more people competing for less jobs with the same motivation we had some years ago, you are just dumb and I kind of feel less capable in some way for having liked your first video I saw"message to Mark Zuckerberg" because I obviously saw the better person that one can see in you untill he realizaes how misled and angry about you are. You clearly dont understand how the world is maintained, lol

  • Gen Y's are the ones that have to clean up the mess all of the older generations have left.

  • @mechanesthesia exactly, and the guys ranting about it like they are not doing enough, whilst we are being showered in generational old cultural negative and biased bagage from our ancestors who always decided to invent some sort of symptom medicine instead of dealing with the root cause, humanity is one big tidal wave just waiting to hit the coastline!

  • @mechanesthesia Older Generations at least had balls to be militant about the things they stood for, what have you done lately?

  • Oh please, us Gen Y's run circles around you.

  • @mechanesthesia Really? Last time I checked, I have heard nothing but boasting, as well as just talking. Let me pose this question. What good is online talking without offline actions?

  • lol. "You are a bunch of losers!" I agree. You don't even mention the student loan bubble. I know people whom have borrowed over $100,000 so they can get a fashion design degree. As far as I have heard they work as retail shift managers (they are fucked). The key is to be VALUABLE, not just "educated".

  • @SpencerPCooley You know the truth of this subject, and I have to say that it is largely psychological about the rest. Here's how I would put it, and tell me if I'm wrong. The Majority of Gen Y operate off off a Psychological Hybrid of Maslow's Hierarchy, and Pavlovian Theory. I call it, consumerist Pavlovian Theory. Something which the TV Programs them, and then when a commercial comes on a bell rings in their head saying you must buy this.

  • All the while content to sit on their ass, and collect Social Security that People with Disability's deserve more. Content with just sitting their so they can cry and feel sorry for themselves.

  • Calm down, Jason. You have some great points, but do you really think scolding the "80%" of the Gen Y'ers you blame for the country's problems will get their attention? Besides, it sounds like you value people like yourself -- people who compete and love to win, while you hold everyone else in contempt. The strongest leaders value and include all styles -- Ppl. who work to help people, to for security, to teach, to invent and create and to support. When you scold people, they turn you off.

  • why does everything have to be about competition? Why do i have to go to my crappy job day in and day out constantly stressed because I know that my productivity is being compared to everyone around me?

  • Why work your ass off in a job you hate and bring more stress and less time for yourself and family?

  • @mmtna Aren't most gen yers in highshool and college right now its the older generations fault that america is tanking !

  • @mmtna the older generations fucked up this country this guys an asshole!

  • @mmtna He sounds pissed that his life sucks and guess what ,we all lose in the end we become slaves that work until they're to old to enjoy anything and die!

  • @mmtna

Yeah, just mooch off someone else. That will always work!

  • @mmtna

Because you hate not having money even more?

  • @Thrawn369 money doesn't equal happiness

  • competition for profit? Ok. That's Capitalism. But to * * dominate * * all others? That's not capitalism by any means. Read Adam Smith's Theory of Moral Sentiments which was the foundation work to the "Wealth of Nations". Moral sentiment and obligation is the cornerstone upon which Capitalism was SUPPOSED to be built.

Domination of all others, is actually the antithesis to Smiths work, which I call ... the New Mercantilism (Smith opposed Mercantilists of his day)

  • @GabbyShae that being said ... yes, most gen y people believe that somehow, money magically falls from the sky, and competition is "mean" ... which is ridiculous

  • i am the most dominant motherfucker of my generation, all of your thought on life are fucked, the animal with the biggest teath survives in the jungle. the last couple of generation stays child like pretty there whole life. no one hired me, i hired myself

  • who the hell are you to tell others how to lead their lives? on top of that, you encourage people to dominate each other? you're a friggin' moron... here's my message to you: if you want to improve the world, improve yourself, that's all you can do, stop trying to improve others, let us take care of us

  • This guy is just plain moronic. He hates everyone because he's done noting good with his own life. LOL. IVE DONT A PRETTY SCIENTIFIC SURVEY - and my conclusion is - 'lamest generation ever'.

  • i'm so impressed u have the balls to say this! u forgot to tell them that their sense of entitlement as well is through the roof for doing NOTHING! yes this is a generalization but its the truth for the most part

  • Generation Y, raised by Boomer Feminist.

  • I love how he focuses all his rage exclusively on young americans and fails to take a more global view of gen Y.I'm from the UK and i've never recieved an award for participation in my life,i don't even know what that means..

Everything said about Gen y by the 'experts' is so massively contradictory. One moment we're shallow, power hungry, materialistic bastards and the next we're a bunch of chronically depressed,emo-tastic fuckwits who 'don't want to WIN' this rant makes no fucking sense at all!

  • OP is a faggot

  • Dude, you are a complete idiot, Gen Y do go out and get jobs you complete moron.

    You are over generalising! STFU!
