Having an imagination is different than believing in the supernatural. Scientists are able to think outside of the box because they have an imagination, not because they adhere to the supernatural without any human discourse.
i don`t get this... Materialism of the gaps? Is that some sort of fucked up way of refering to methodological naturalism in the perjorative? Isent it slightly backward to be refering to naturalistic thinking while stairing into a camera born of naturalistic forces that operates through naturalistic forces and then uploading the content to a internet that operates purely through naturalistic means?
Even if the correlation between praying and regrowing limbs was only 95% and not 100%, I'd still take that seriously. Then again p=0.95 is pretty much the definition of "evidence".

He (without proof) claims that atheists are unwilling to seriously entertain the notion of god's existence, while not realizing that "naturalism of the gaps" requires belief that god is the default solution, and can't understand how he is inserting a claim into the gap.
Naturalism of the gaps is certainly embarrassing for god since they do tend to get smaller. Has he ever widened one?
"Have you ever had a homeless guy who had either had to much to drink,or to many drugs.." Does Ali not understand that a great many of the mentally ill are mentally ill without chemical assistance?
Or perhaps if he was mentally ill solely on the basis of pure natural occurrence then he would be no more justified in questioning his irrational beliefs then Ali feels he is.
In short, in quantum physics, to say that 'everything can happen' is not entire untrue, but it kind of misses the point. An arm COULD regrow via the random occurrences of quantum effects, but such a thing would be so improbable (And non-repeatable) that saying "Quantum Did It" would actually be even less satisfying than saying "God Did It."
Would a growing back of an arm after a prayer to Allah make me believe? No. But it would be compelling evidence leagues beyond any we've had before.

When he can't provide evidence or even explain how Allah's existence makes sense, how can he think we should take him seriously. I want to see the evidence just as bad as any other atheist, but making a case for a god that didn't sound batshit crazy would really help.
Ali is a fucktard, his argument is that we shouldn't expect evidence of a scientific nature for an entity outside of sciences remit. Unfortunately for him, if he was to hold to that line then he would have absolutely no reason to suggest that the god himself exists. Sure, we can put god outside of science but then they should shut up when they claim evidence of god that is inside the natural world, which most definately is inside sciences remit.
