  • question, has there ever been a birth at the big cat rescue?

  • @animalsfun Yes we were founded in 1992, back then we were always struggling to separate cats and were ill advised by people, but since the 90's we have learned that any cats bred in captivity are bred to spend their lives in captivity and this doesn't help conservation of the species, but simply adds to the problem of cats living in cages. We do not breed and haven't for a long time, instead we use our resources to provide a home for cats that need one :)

  • @BigCatRescue well, everyone has to start some where, and look where you are today!!! i glad to know there are people like those in the big cat rescue helping mistreated get a better home, thanks for all your work big cat rescue

  • this is just so wrong. There are not exuse for doing this.Tigers are endengerade animals, any tiger you spay or neuter you male the geen pool smaller and smaller as if rigers didn't have enough problems.

  • @salvolondon just realized about all the spelling and typing mistakes i have done.sorry english is not my mother tounge

  • How do people mistaken lion meat from tiger meat? I thought tigers had stripes skin as well as fur?

  • @altarush When the cats have been skinned they all look the same :(

  • I am big fan of big cats rescue.....you may be right or wrong in neutering these tiger species for viable population survival......with your logic we need to neuter humans too esp hybrids and ppl of casual/pleasure sex stereotypes - they are useless too.....what do u say?.......6.5 Billion ppl most are liability on nature, wild life and habitat....I don't smell asset around anywhere.

  • @virgoptrex You're right, people are the problem, way too many people not enough room for the animals!

  • This is right. But the way tigers are disappearing in the wild, we may soon get to the point when we may have to actually think about capturing a few pure breed tigers of all surviving sub-species from the wild and start a captive breeding programme just to save them from going extinct. I hope it doesn't come to that but I fear it will. A tiger in captivity isn't a tiger at all. And you couldn't teach it all the special skills that help it survive in the wild.

  • I like the end where he gets out of the cat's urine trajectory zone :P

  • what if they're all hybrids? then what? let them go extinct?

  • This is just retarded, How do you fucktards expect to reintroduce tigers if they go extinct in the wild if you go and neuter/spay all the captive ones??!!! Having lots of tigers in captivity is a GOOD thing, becuse they sure aren't making it in the wild these days!

  • Firstly not all tigers are suitable for species survival plans, ours are not, many are hybrids from two different sub species of tigers and are not 100% bengal or siberian tiger etc... Secondly breeding all these tigers in captivity might be saving the species but they will never get released back into the wild after being kept in captivity and associating people with food, what we need to do is preserve natural habitat for the existing tiger in the wild, if we can't do this we're in trouble! :)

  • Couldn't you have made the point without using swear words?

  • why are people neutering endangered animals? Why not chop and spay stupid people...like pam anderson....

  • We could definitely use less people on the planet, the animals have no where to go:)

  • i know right (late response) isnt it pretty annoying how we have 6 billion ppl in the world! when one person dies everyone goes omg omg omg someone died! animals on the other hand are not as much cared about. if an animal gets extinct then well not everyone cares. the only predator humans have are ourselves and natural disasters. (old age is also counted plus disease) i h8 being at the top of the food chain sometimes.. :S

  • @wakawaka60 eerrmmm i think u need help....

  • Spayed is so fucking against nature...true that there aint too much cats its just there are too many stupid ppl...

  • to many tigers???? TO MANY HUMANS CUTTING OFF ANIMALS BALLS AND MAKING MOTHERS NOT BEING ABLE TO BE MOTHERS I rest my case >:)

  • There's too many people breeding these cats for the pet/entertainment,medicine market so we fix all our cats so we never contribute to the problem of cats living miserable lives in cages :)

  • You are absolutely right!

  • @ANNlover9981 totally agree with you mate.

  • These tigers are so cute! I love big cats espcially tigers and lions. they are my favourite.

  • Hey, Scott, why did you run from Bella? Was she going to mark you as hers? Wouldn't that be an honor?

    Chicken.(;^)

  • I don't see how we can save tigers in the wild w/ all these people around who think tigers are here for their hunting pleasure.

I made the mistake of voicing my displeasure at that picture of Sarah Palin sitting next to a dead elk. Nobody could understand why I was upset, so I decided to be quiet.

Some people act like we have a never ending surplus of animals and that it doesn't matter if they hunt them to their hearts content.

  • It's great to see what Big Cat Rescue is doing for the tiger, what an awesome predator!

  • I agree. We need more people in this world to care. More people like the ones that are part of BigCatRescue.

  • another question, do u have any of these facilities in UK?

  • Tearyth, no we don't. The only one in this one in Tampa, Florida.

  • my other point is, sorry bigcatrescue but i think u missed the nature memo, the rules are teh following;

    :born: :eat:  :toiet: :survive:

and replay the last 4 multiple times until u reach :breed:

and if your just keeping these cats and not have any plans on releasing them into the wild, sorry but can u tell me why u have them in the first place?

  • Tearyth, the cats here will live out their lives in peace, free from abuse. We think it is wrong to breed more cats for life in captivity. These animals are not part of any formal SSP (AZA's Species Survival Plan), they have no hopes for being released into the wild niether would their offspring. So any off spring would have would be doomed to live out their lives in captivity, which would be sad in deed. Therefore we simply do not breed any of them.

  • but in not breeding wont you run out when they die?

  • Tearyth, we firmly believe in & actively support saving & protecting tigers in the wild. Each year we turn away 300+ tigers, lions, etc that need sanctuary because we are full, as are all the true sanctuaries. The constant stream of exotics needing a safe place to live out thier lives never seems to decrease. We are hopeful that new laws across the country will help put an end to the flood of these animals needing sanctuary. Saving these great cats in their natural habitats in the wild is best.

  • wait nevermind i didnt read the first reply

  • i still dont see what makes humans think they have any moral rights over whether a animal gets to keep its genitals.. -.-

  • Tearyth, this facility depends much on generous donations from the public to give the cats already here the best lives possible. It would be very irresponsible of us to breed more. Besides there are so many cats out there that need a safe place to go, we simply will not breed more to take away the space needed for rescuing those in need.

  • i love tigeers

  • Oh wait I get it! More captured than wild. Yeah that isa good idea.

  • That is cruel! Tigers are endangered and this is making it worse! If you do this again, I'm pretty sure a protest will start.

  • TheBlue64, I think you missed the points in the video. Can I answer some questions for you?

  • TheBlue64, these cats are not eligible to be part of any Species Survival Plan (SSP) and therefore will never be part of saving the species. Cats that come from unknown lineage cannot be used to save the species. The best way to save the endangered species is by saving and protecting their wilderness habitats. Thank you so much for caring about the cats.

  • did he really say "the real no-brainer stuff; that's what we're best trained for"?? =D

  • i repeat i SPIT on you. tigers are endangered and yes i know they probally know that. but tigers should be in the wild not a stupid zoo or whatever it is. if we stayed out of there habitat in the first place there would be alot more of it and dont think that tiger or any others would apreciate being spayed or neutered. :( (mad face) :(

  • Animorphs4ever, I am sorry you think badly of this. Sadly there is no reintroduction to the wild program so the cats will never get to go free. They were born in captivity & will live thier lives in captivity. They're from unclear lineage which means they can't be part of a species survival plan. There isn't any reason for them to be bred. By being 'fixed' they can now live with other cats here & have friends to keep them from being so bored. That, we think is a good thing.

  • Animorph is ignorant. Has no idea what's going on around them. Hating on an animal rescue organization is dumb. If BCR didn't take these cats, they'd probably be killed, but I'm sure you rather have that, right? Tigers are my favorite animal, but I rather see them in a sanctuary living happily as possible than dead, apparently you don't....Get a clue please, animorph, and try not being so ignorant and listen to these people..

  • Hey;you are not listening to the video;or reading the info on the right.Yes;if they were in the wild;I would agree with you;

but these are rescued cats;and they are doing everything they can to help them.

  • Awesome video! I'm so glad there are people like you who are working to help big cats!

  • OMG!!!!

there are less then 5000 tigers in the world thats less then a thousand of each species!!!!!

by the way tigers r endangered AND should not be kept as pets. u should hav a permit to keep a tiger as a pet! i SPIT on YOU!

  • Animorphs4ever, I think you misunderstood many things in the video. PLEASE watch it again and catch the parts that you seem to have missed, before you pass such a harsh and hateful judgement. You seem to have entirely missed the points we were making. We need to save these cats in the wild by saving their habitats and NOT by breeding them for life in cages and backyards.

  • I think they are perfectly aware of the fact that Tigers are endangered, animorphs4ever.

No one should be able to keep a wild animal as a pet but they still do and this is a SANCTUARY not someone backyard.

  • see the heading too many tigers

theres no such thing as too many tigers because thers not enough tigers

  • Korbus101, there are not enough tigers in the wild, but there are way too many in the private pet trade living in bad conditions.

  • Korbus101, we need to work very hard, all of us, to find ways of saving the wild tigers' habitats and on saving the tigers in the wild.

  • yes we do

  • Korbus101, have you visited our main website? You can get FREE screensavers, wallpapers, games, puzzles, ring tones and even personalized storybooks about the cats. They make great gifts for your friends and family if they are animal lovers. Of the remiaing tiger sub-species do you have a favorite? Or do you have a favorite habitat preservation project?

  • Until we can save their natural environment (read: save what little space there is for the existing "wild" big cats), I think spaying them is a great idea.

If we're "not spaying them because then we'll be left with too few individuals to reinsert them in the wild", from a genetic point of view it'd be too late by then... I'd love to have someone contradict me ;/

  • Irea6242, obviously I won't contradict you. At this point there simply is not a reintroduction program for them. The focus at this point MUST be on finding ways to preserve and protect the little remaining wild habitat. Please post more! Have you visited our main website yet?

  • Just to let you guys know, in case you want to contact me, my former screen ID was VeterinaryMajor726. I had to change it due to some unpleasantness from other YouTube members on another video. Something I said was taken out of context and blown out of proportion, so I am now BigCatsRule726.

  • I agree, I dont believe you should be neutering or spaying these animals.

They are being annihilated in the wild, and this may be the ONLY way we can reintroduce them back into the wild.

  • Big cats that haven't been born in the wild and haven't been taught by their mother how to hunt and survive can never be reintroduced into the wild, sadly. It's a good thing BCR is spaying/neutering their cats- there's more then 10x the ammount of tiger in captivity then in the wild.

  • nice cats. give them lots of food and lots of love. they are beutiful

  • Wwus120, THANK YOU for caring enough to watch this video and post a comment. Each of the cats have a special diet designed just for them and their needs. Have you ever heard about our vast enrichment program for the cats?

  • I just love this things. BCR Are really helping the big cats. I go on the website evryday and it helps me a lot to learn about these beautiful animals. When I grow up I wanna work for Big Cat rescue!!

  • You and me both! I'm working right now on getting my Bachelor's degree in Biology, which will then be used to get a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. I'm more than likely going to do my necessary internship here, and I might work here as a vet. I love exotic animals and I respect their wild nature. God bless Big Cat Rescue for the wonderful work they are doing!!

  • go big cat rescue! i hate when animals are exploited for human entertainment and money!

  • ABlueChipStock, we hate it too when people exploit them for profit. It almost always means disaster for the animals.

  • Thanks. It is a side of the animal industry that not many talk about. The surplus animals, and the animals that eventually have no place to go. So in getting our cats fixed we limit the number of these type of animals. So we can then use our resources to help those in the little "wild" that is left.

  • Very good clip.I'd like to see more posts like this.

  • GhenisVell, THANK YOU VERY MUCH, my apologies for taking so long to respond. We now have 83 videos posted and will be post many more during 2008.

  • Good Stuff, Good people. god bless you for your work

  • Yossirox, THANK YOU for your wonderful comment! Have you seen our new eCards website section? (it is free)

  • But do get your "At Home"buddies spayed.

  • PolarBearKat, please explain what you mean by "At Home" buddies so I can answer your question.

  • Awesome video, BCR!

  • I love these cats...Thank you for helping to save and house such beautiful animals...

  • Great vid. But don't get sprayed!

  • I agree with you deaconblue28!

  • Hmmm, I have been srayed, let me tell you you it took a few washings to get my jacket smelling clean and freshagain, not to mention my hair. Even after I showered and shampooed my hair what I thought was surely enough well, all night in my sleep, when I rolled over I got a nasty whiff enough to wake me up... by morning I realized that SMELL was still ME! It WAS STILL MY HAIR. Now THAT is nasty!
