And the amount of oil from the Persian Gulf has also decreased, from around 16% in 2001 to around 11%. If the Iraq War is all about oil, then the US has spent a lot of money and resources to topple Saddam, run elections, and train the military/police to get less oil from Iraq and the Persian Gulf region.

I remember the day well, by noon I was at the closet Army Post, I had got a phone call to report. After about 4 hours of waiting, they told me I was to old and sent me home. Saying I was pissed is an understatement, I was already counter terrorism trained, also airborne, air assault and sniper trained. And they sent me home.
i just found out that one of my best friends from high school was killed this week over in afgenistan. He and i went to school from elementry to high school and through training, and i remember the words he said on that day. @lesdoyle2000 We get 3% of the oil used in the US from Iraq. And the US gets less oil today from Iraq than before 9/11, 4.5% of the total oil used in the US in 2001. And the amount of oil from the Persian Gulf has also decreased, from around 16% in 2001 to around 11%. If the Iraq War is all about oil, then the US has spent a lot of money and resources to topple Saddam, run elections, and train the military/police to get less oil from Iraq and the Persian Gulf region.

I remember the day well, by noon I was at the closet Army Post, I had got a phone call to report. After about 4 hours of waiting, they told me I was to old and sent me home. Saying I was pissed is an understatement, I was already counter terrorism trained, also airborne, air assault and sniper trained. And they sent me home.

i just found out that one of my best friends from high school was killed this week over in afgenistan. He and i went to school from elementry to high school and through training, and i remember the words he said on that day. What he said inspired me to do the exact same He and i went through our entire training together then got seperated when over there, i got moved to another unit and i saw him about a week before he went back over. He was a true soldier,

Please no one take this the wrong way....I will never forget what happened that day, nor will I ever forget how terrifying it was for me and my family personally, since my aunt lives near the towers (my aunt is now dying from lung cancer that she got while inhaling all those chemicals trying to find survivors for weeks.) and I wish this had never happened, but it did give a lot of Americans a much needed wake up call that not everyone is going to bow down to us, and we are not immune to tragedy.
