That glossy plastic on the lid is killing me, lol. I dunno why they didn't use another sheet of brushed aluminum instead of having 3 different materials, which just looks strange. And attracts fingerprints, like you said. Anyway, I guess it's more of a value now that the price has come down from what it used to be (which was outrageous).

@BrixXSM You might want to check out the Dell Vostro V13, or the Toshiba Satellite T235. Both are quite thin and light and offer better value for the dollar than this. Unless you want do rock the Adamo as a statement in college; then it stands alone. ;-)

@BrixXSM You'll want to check out my review of the V13. Battery life is so-so...you won't get awesome battery life in a laptop that's very thin and light. Batteries are heavy, so you can't magically get the best of both worlds...

Aye. I got that point. I suffer a pretty annoying birth condition and basically have no real physical strength anymore. So carrying books and stuff around college will be hell. So I wanted something light, and something that would have a decent battery to last through the lectures.

Maybe this is a crazy suggestion, but have you thought about an iPad + a Bluetooth keyboard? 10 hours of battery life and 1.5 pounds (plus whatever the weight of the keyboard is) is hard to beat. You'd still need a real computer for real work, but in terms of note taking, that might be a decent combo.

@ThoughtsMedia Haha woah, that's innovative but I'm afraid that I'm moving into programming, and of course compiling said programs. I think I like the Vostro V13. I intend to run Ubuntu on it, and hopefully when I get an SSD in there as well and turn the screen down it'll hit 4 hours, which is all I would ever possibly need. :)

@BrixXSM Yes, a V13 with the brightness turned down and WiFi off should do four hours (just barely) - getting an SSD won't give you anything extra. Hard drives are very miserly with power now; the biggest power draw on a laptop is the screen, followed by the CPU and chipset. If you need more power, consider an Tekkeon external battery - they're fairly light and give you a bit boost on battery power (it basically doubles the V13 battery). OK, enough free consulting for one night. ;-)

@L3Z99 Yes, if the laptop has a removable battery, you can take it out and run it just off AC power. Just never unplug it from power when the laptop is turned on though. ;-)
