Matt knows that God allowed him to have cancer (this tumor supposedly has been growing for about 20 yrs). He simply believes that God orchestrates all things. I attend The Village Church and I just wanted to reassure @bertamus11 and @hmala that I have often heard Matt express extreme gratefulness and appreciation toward his doctors and the rest of medical staff that have been involved in his treatment. I'm sure he's thanked them often for their hard work.
I'm hoping the best for you two. I wish only the best...but don't you think that instead of thanking your imaginary friend, you should really give credit where credit is due? (to the doctors, the chemo, etc..) The ten commandments, etc. are all really good things to abide by, but we're a little old for imaginary friends, no? Probably not. I think you're way past rational thinking and really deep into your "faith". Oh well, good luck. Chin up Matt!
@bertamus11 - Yes I agree with this comment. Exactly. Did god not give him the brain cancer in the first place? And where is the praise and credit for incredible modern science and the superhero doctors who worked so hard. These doctors studied half their lives to save other's lives. Maybe study some science and biology to appreciate the wonders of science. Without it you wouldn't here nor would most of us. Do you know anyone with polio? Well you can thank science for that.
i'm not sure how i got here, but your story is touching...and your strength is inspiring. i dont think we share the same beliefs but i do know that the world is better with you in it. i wish you wellness...and also healing for your beautiful wife and children.
@gisabella1 Might I encourage you to listen to Matt's easter sermon? It's only about a half an hour; if you google Matt Chandler Colossians Part 6 you should find it.
Matt and Lauren you are such strong people and have so much faith in the lord i will be praying for stay strong Matt we all love you there at the Village.
Brother, I dunno if you read the comments here, but I want to encourage you with this passage:
2 Cor 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
What a blessing that you're experiencing depression, my friend. You now know what its like & can counsel others who hurt
<3 it, <3 it, , <3 it! Lauren, you're a natural! You jumped right in and spoke from your heartt (just like Matt!). I would love to see more of you in Matt's videos (not suggesting crossing any "Role of Women" lnes!), where we can get a perspective from a godly Lead Pastor's wife. I believe that you have a lot to say & share to those others who might be in similar situations as well. God bless you both; know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers!
