  • This song is called "Tamboo" it was written by Francisco Cavez (you can find it on cassette with his Latin-American Orchestra). This song was made popular by Jo Privat, who performs it on his "Manouche Partie" album. Mr. Bungle covered this song and many others.

  • @arithilemn WAT

  • @TheBungle

"WAT"? This communicates nothing to me, do you have a question?

  • I love how into it the kids are! Mike would be proud!!

  • Holy Balls My brother is in this.

  • I can't believe this is happening

  • not only is this awesome, it boggles the mind how ANYONE could possibly have transcribed this into separate parts from the original song. This teacher rules.

  • Martin, your son is a fucking badass. Jussain'

  • Unreal.......

  • This is Amazing.

  • Awesome execution on a freaking fantastic song!

These are the best high school kids. Ever.

  • This is simply AWESOME, if this was a professional band, and I had to pay a pricy ticket to go see them, they would still be GREAT. I cant belive a school teacher managed to get all those talented musicians in ONE school and put a show like this. I am speechless.

  • reminds me of 'Ed Wood' (the biopic, not the man)

  • There is hope!! Teachers can make a difference!

  • awesome.

  • what year was this?

  • I wish my high school would of done some Mr. Bungle... awesome!

  • mr bunglue

  • oh my god. awesome. 5 stars.

  • Where does your son go to school????? I want my children going there.

  • I guess most of them didn't understand the meaning of this performance for this guys.

  • Someone has to give this bassist some serious respect. He's pulling off Trevor's lines with precision, awesome.

  • I'm glad somebody noticed.

  • Superb performance! I especially liked the time signature breakdown at 3:21

  • Speechless !!! absolutely awesome, I love this tune and these guys really did it justice !! so jealous i didn't get to do stuff like this at school :)

  • I love the Guys in the background going ape shit! This is Amazing! I love Spruance! Skitly op skittly op! aw aw AwW WA skeE!

  • I would totally buy this concert on DVD. I teared up while watching this. Amazing. I love this song and they completely did it justice.

  • this ensemble is bad ass!

  • Fucking incredible. I wish I had gotten to play Bungle in high school, hahaha.

  • I'm impressed by whoever did the arrangement

  • Ma Meeshka Mow Skwoz was written entirely by TREY SPRUANCE, not Patton.

  • I HAVE A BONER

  • I wish my high school band was cool enough to play Mr. Bungle.

  • Greatest YouTube video ever. Everyone who performed in this ensemble rocks.

  • Thanks dude. We had a good time.

  • Awesome, that teacher is badass.

  • Agreed, what a cool teacher, this is just excellent!

    Superb job, very impressive indeed!

  • i take back what i said before about people being annoying

this is great and i enjoyed the people dancing around :)

    good job

  • Whether it was the kids that picked this or the teacher, I hope it inspired the students that didn't already know about Mike Patton and Mr. Bungle to look them up further. This... is... absolutely effing brilliant. Good work.

  • I have been listening to Mr. Bungle since the early 90's and I LOVE that you covered this! You guys rock!!

  • What!!!?

  • I never thought anyone could do Bungle but Bungle, I stand corrected!

Coolest music teacher ever, and what a song to pick!

  • I never thought I would see Mr. Bungle preformed by a high schoool band. These kids officially have the coolest teacher ever.

  • You have deep seated insecurities about yourself in a public setting. Don't throw that off on a high school ensemble. They did great and the dancing was awesome. Maybe next time they won't forget to bring their digital recording studio. :p

  • Wow, um, first of all I was the bass player for that ensemble and I am offended.

If you can't hear the bass in the sound then you're quite possibly deaf/retarded, or don't know enough about music to pick out the sound.

Before you cast your judgement on things, learn what you're talking about. Thanks for the comment anyway.

  • Yeh, screw that dude. Screw you Nitemare Theatre. I bet you're emo.

  • ....i don't remember a lick of my vibe part hahah..... OH WELL!!!

This was one of the funnest ensembles i've been in :)

  • Who is that dancing fruit?

  • Never in a million years would I have thought. Awesome.

  • I'm impressed... they did a great job with performing the song.

  • This is the best high school ensemble i have ever seen. Cool for that band leader to let them do that.

  • this is orgasmic

  • @Coldfire201 YOU suck.

  • That was awesome. Very impressed.

  • OMG I can't believe this!!!!! A High School, leaded by a fairly old director, performing Ma Meeshka!!!!! And wonderfully!!

  • Haha, try a 34 year old director. But your sentiment remains, thanks. :)

  • Oh my god. This is amazing. I love every single performer.

  • Brilliant! Also, can't believe a group covered a Bungle song in school...

  • i love that you covered this song.... for school !!! I love Mr Bungle... and these kids did a great job

  • *sigh* I love us.

    We were awesome :)))

I loved my vibe part. it was SAWEET! hehe

someone pointed out to me the other day that i do this foot pop thing when I finish runs....it's weird....

  • There is no need to get defensive or curse sir. This is a scholarly conversation.

  • Little drummer boy,

When a group of musicians plays a show, it is supposed to be entertaining. Putting on a good show is half the battle. You obviously know very little about musical performance and cannot see that the group on stage is having a good time while playing the show and that reaches out to the crowd. Go get some education in performance or at least don't be an ignorant moron.

    That is all.

  • No, it is not. It is a cover of what would be played at an avant-rock (if that's even a real genre) concert. They can do whatever the Hell they like. If they're into the music, and they want to act about, it's up to them.

  • Have you ever seen Mr. Bungle or videos of Mr. Bungle performing? If you have, you know that Patton and Dunn dick around nonstop, groping eachother and pulling pranks on the other band members. Not to mention Patton by himself, who is no stranger to doing backflips, flopping like a fish, and throwing himself around on stage. As Austin said, go get an education before you comment on something you know noticeably little about.

  • I bet you're emo.

  • Take it easy on him he goes to the woodlands...they are "special" there

  • if you were told to then thats fine

but its still not a rock concert

  • Nobody said it was a rock concert but you.

    -.-

  • beautiful!! 5 stars!

its long since i was struck by a youtube-video

    8)

  • Because of me playing with you guys here, the Imperial Percussion Theater wants me playing bass for them for their show this year.

    I'm stoked.

  • brilliant - I want an MP3! :)

  • Could you please tell your son that he kicks ass.

  • Will do and he will be pleased to know this, but they ALL kick ASS... without each and ever one of them they would not have pulled this off.

  • Yes, you are right. I just thought that your son might be the easiest one to reach.

  • Why thank you :)

  • gahh, that was amazing. i almost pooped when i saw that.

  • We all did our fair share of pooping performing it... Believe me.

  • yes, i agree. there are some crazy hard parts in this that when we leave WE have to change our pants.

  • Yeah, it really does have that effect on people. Somewhere in there... There's a brown note.

  • this is my percussion ensamble this year.

    ITS SO FUCKING COOL!

  • thats freaking amazing!!! i love this song.

  • NO FUCKING WAY!

    thats awesome!

  • Yes... F*****G way!

  • We're just awesome like that!!!!!

Our show is going to be even more amazing this year!

    -G-race!

  • This is great, didn't imagine this being played in High School.

  • As a musician and huge fan of Mr. Bungle...this was almost like hearing Les Baxter covering the song sans tropical birds. Freaking great.

  • Good luck topping that this year. You don't have that awesome bass player anymore. lol

  • I'm the bass player! I totally miss doing this stuff with you guys. Good luck this year

  • DAMN!!

    This sounds amazing. I'm speechless.

  • Thank You... they worked hard. It will be tough to top this one but they have a great director with an incredible background and passion for pushing the envelope.

  • it's the name of a Mr Bungle track off the album Ma Meeshka Mow Skwoz is on.

  • No, it is off the album Disco Volante

  • Uhh excuse me, THAT'S the album Ma Meeshka's on...

  • Great version, love it!

    Congrats on a fantastic job!

It's nice to see that music directors in colleges can be open-minded :)

  • This was in high school....I played set.

  • The ghetto beat still gets me. Best part of the song was implemented on accident.

  • sdkf

BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL! GEAT WORK

  • it's good to see high school students doing something besides sniffing glue or getting pregnant.... great job!

  • AWESOME

    But need vocals! XD

  • I came.

  • i wish my school would do this

  • This is unbelievable. What a fantastic performance. Congratulations to everyone!!! You've made my day!! :)

  • These guys are great. Brilliant and funny performance. I also wish all them a brilliant future.

    ¡Saludos!

  • What an incredible performance! I wish you all the best in your future musical endeavors. I hope Trey Spruance sees this video because I know it would put a smile on his face.

  • Spruance wrote this song!

  • As stated already, amazing! To all, thanks for your time and music!

  • reference to a song title from mr. bungle.

  • incredible!

  • Phenomenal! Major props!

  • Too cool.

  • Brilliant! I always found the vocals on the original spoiled things a bit so I'm loving this! Don't suppose there's a soundboard of it somewhere?

  • Fucking unreal!

  • its great to see younger kids still into Patton's music. Especially the more avant-garde stuff

  • This is Spruance's music. When will people stop giving Patton all the credit for every single project he's worked on!? Fucks sake!!!

  • Yeah that's why Bungle split I think. Cos Patton got all the credit and Spurance was especially pissed off. Shame cos they were a fucking brilliant band when they worked cohesively. I wouldn't call "Spurance's music" either, I would call "Mr. Bungle's music", and god do I miss it.

  • That was a contributing factor, but not the only reason for it. It was a pretty multi-faceted, ugly situation of intense personality clashes destroying creativity...

I don't think it was just Patton and Trey to blame, although they were the main perpetraters of it. Whilst Ma Meeshka was given some extra spice by other members, it is for the most part a Spruance composition, and I felt that needed to be pointed out..

  • "pattons music"

    hahaha

  • the only thing that patton wrote by himself

in Disco Volante is Backstrokin' the shortest song on the album.

  • Holy crap! Awesome. Go Bungle!

  • From one timpani player and Patton fan to another - Great Job!

Love that you guys transposed that for an ensemble.

  • Thanx for the kind words. I am just proud of a bunch of great kids who worked very hard to do something out of the box. Of course, much credit to the percussion director, he blessed the idea and kept them focused.

  • Myself and a Magnolia Alum saw this at TCGC this year. I loved the piece, although the name DID give me an aneurysm. Nice work though!

  • it was the first song from the same album that come from ''Ma Meeshka Mow Skwoz''. This songs was mabe by Mr. Bungle, probably one of the best group ever made.

  • That was the coolest thing I have ever seen.

Makes me wish that I had done percussion instead of trumpet. Damn.

  • You are right, you guys did rule! Yes, you got ripped off at state, I don't think they realized the extent of what you guys did.

  • That's me, the timpani player!!!! We rule and we got ripped off at state.

  • I am in this! We are so awesome! haha I am the one dancing around!

  • Yes you and the rest were awesome. Loved the dancing, added a bit of drama to it.

  • Brilliant!!! The only bad thing is it left me wanting MORE!!!! lol!!

  • Did you see what I did there?

  • Unbelievable!

  • Fun, AND amasing.

Im a Bungle Fan and this is just awesome

  • WELL I can speak for all Bungle fans when I say that was amazing! You got a good boy there! How old are they? How long did it take them to arrange all that? Thank you for posting this!

  • Thank You... They span 15-18yrs, mine is 16. He has aspirations to attend Berklee and study Avante Garde music/percussions. They started this in January. Unfortunately they did not win any competitions but placed in top 3 several times. Not sure if those judges really understood the song (most are 50+). The bass player is wearing a Kabuki mask....

Only a true Bungle fan would appreciate this, hence my post.

  • Super!

What is the name of the ensemble?

  • MHS is the local high school in Texas. This was the done at the spring percussion concert.

  • Excellent job!! Very cool to see you guys doing a Mr. Bungle song.

  • Thank you.. they thought so also. My son came up with the idea, being a Mike Patton fan. Just glad they have a director/instructor willing to go out of the box.
