  • can u put tht gun on css

  • press M than delete the material and you are done

  • Well, i cant drag and drop anything into the viewports. It sucks. I cant even get bitmaps in the material editors to drag and drop to the viewports.

  • it doesnt have to me in the mat editor, jus create a plane, in new window (not in 3d max) find the folder comtaining the pic, make sure its a bitmap and drag it into the 3d max plane u made. if it doesnt fit, just make the plane the same size as the pic and ure good.

  • What would be the benefits of doing it this way instead of threw the material editor? as I don't think you could place normal, spec or anything other materials like that this was.

  • are u saying that u cannot drag and drop at all?

  • this was very helpful. How would you go about removing it if you needed to? since it's not in the material editor?

    thanks a bunch!

  • lol coicidental comments. but just clik the plane u pasted the pic onto and delete, im sry about the long ass wait for the response. been hectic round here lol

  • how did you create the plane to put the picture in?

  • @Gomar3 Go to create -> shapes you can draw a square and then put the .png picture on it, this does the job if you want a 2d picture. For 3d just put the pictures on already created 3d model, its a very quick method. THX TO "3dDj" for this time saver. So many long tutorials for bitmaps and this one is the best, at least for starters :)

  • This is soo cool, except for now how do you remove the pic if you wanted to? since it's not in the material editor? i can only figure out how to cover it up again with the grey from ME help please

  • to remove the pic, select the plane u put the pic on and hit the delete key and u gota full model with no pic in the bg

  • ok, but that will delete the piece, I build a model and used this technique to cover alot of pieces, but I wouldn't want to delete the pieces in my model....I don't only use this on planes.

  • right clik and delete the plain after ure done modeling, it wont take away any parts of the model.

  • My issue is that I had made a model drawn out and extruded...ok? then I dragged a bitmap of rocks onto it...to make it look like rocks... then i couldn't remove it. I am not just using this drag and drop method on planes.

  • thanks

  • no prob

  • i can get the picture to show in the perspective view, but how did you get it to show in the front view?

  • just take it out of wireframe mode. :D

  • thanks for info..nice!

  • i drag in a bmp onto a plane, but its tiled, how i fix? or could you tell me how to do it the long way?

  • hmm, i guess if the plane is bigger than the bmp it might tile itslef, try makin the plane, then typin in the dimentions of the pic so the plane is the same size as the pic. if that doesnt work ill tell u the long way, still might do it tho.

  • cheers! i made the plane the same dimentions as the bmp n it worked. nice one!

  • nice!

  • cool, i didnt knew this before...i only knew the the long way tnx

  • np man, took me a while to figure it out to, then me and a friend were talkin and he jus does it outa nowhere...i was like DUDE how tf u do that lol, and he told me, ....i jus cant believe i diddnt try it at all before...lol

  • if u couldnt see it, all u have to do is save ure pic as a .bitmap and drag and drop it onto a plane :)
