  • I've watched most of your videos and even favorited a few, but I think you too, are being an extremist, just like Christians. The Bible is obviously false, when logic and reason is used, but if you apply that same logic to existence, Intelligent Design seems to be the most reasonable answer. I can give references. Basically though, you cannot scientifically prove that this Universe came from nothing, so don't discount a Creator, only religions who claim to know what the Creator is.

  • Intelligent design is simply creationism trying again with a new label (I never heard of it nor creationism until a few weeks before this video andwas appauled at the efforts of both). Spirituality is fine but ID is claiming a known creator and discounts proper science. A spiritual view is fine but the very assumption the universe 'came from nothing' is not a valid claim nor a good argument for any creator

  • Well, good argument or not, to believe either a Creator came from nothing or the Universe came from nothing is equally ignorant, since we have no knowledge of the beginning of the Universe. Also, I don't believe in spirituality because I don't believe we have any connection to the Creator, and I don't think It cares about us. I think It uses us for entertainment, like dolls or a video game.

Grand Theft Auto 5: The Universe

  • "Well, good argument or not, to believe either a Creator came from nothing or the Universe came from nothing is equally ignorant"

Basically, some sort of knowledge on the existance of nothing is required (We have no idea if 'nothing' exists, what we thought was nothing now turned out to be dark energy etc)

Spirituality to me is a vague term so to me it is simply deserved respect for the material word

  • Well put.

  • great vid but one small suggestion would be to stop taking all of the biblical words as literal. Other, more crafty, theist and religious "thinkers" will use arguments stating that most of the bible is alligorical and symbolic. What needs to be focused on primarily are the historical factors that led to the creation of christianity in general. If one does his/her research more carefully you'll notice that the old testament is a mixture of many ancient "philosophies" and belief systems.

  • Those ancient "philosophies" are mainly Egyptian text translated (or mistranslated) and tampered with in order to mentally enslave the masses in the old middle eastern world. The character of Christ himself was first known as Serapus who was fashioned after one of Alexander the Great's first generals Ptolomy I. This was done during the occupation of Egypt by the Macedanean empire forged by Alexander. This Serapus was then worshiped and spoken of as "The Christ" which is a label.

  • The name Jesus was then given years later in order to perpetuate him as an actual living being on earth. The rest is history. simply look up the name or term Serapus or Serapis and you'll get tons of information. Your effort should go into trying to enlighten religious fanatics and not argue with them as if they have a valid scientific argument. That will only fuel their fire. let them know that they are being dooped into being mentally enslaved in order to keep them obedient and servile.

  • "The name Jesus was then given years later in order to perpetuate him as an actual living being on earth."

Techincally "Jesus" is the anglisisation of the greek work "Iesu" which is translated from the Hebrew word "Yeshua" meaning "Yahweh saves" I agree with the rest of what you say entirely

  • "Other, more crafty, theist and religious "thinkers" will use arguments stating that most of the bible is alligorical and symbolic."

Frankly I don't mind that. As long as people accept the facts they are welcome to read the bible 'allegorically'. Creationism is biblical literalism and that is what I have a problem with

I'm aware of the bible's history from the Enuma Elish to the Council of Nicea however I accept people's religiousity no matter how deluded so long as they respect science

  • understood, and you are correct on the jesus portion, but the point I was trying to make was that arguing with them on a logical and scientific way is not always going to work. Appealing to the more human side of things and letting them know that they don't need salvation from some supernatural deity and that they can save themselves would work more with the common man. Scientific and philosophical arguments work well for those who are fortunate enough to think about things besides paying rent.

  • I bring that up from time to time. I haven't made too many videos on morality and humanism but I think I've made at least two roughly on the subject

  • If you lay out the historical process of how Christainity came about and how it was used to manipulate them then they may think about it for longer and pay it more attention. What i've noticed is that people defend things because they feel it necessary for their survival. I know it's difficult, but they can liberate themselves with the right sort of information. otherwise your just arguing for the sake of arguing, not that I'm accusing you of such. I assume you argue to reveal the truth.

  • forgive me if I sound preachy... lol

  • What's that song at the end??

  • "Take My Wife" by Tim Minchim

  • Why is pork one of the worst meats there is? Pork is the primary meat in most countries, pigs are a high yield animal.

That's a stupid thing to say. Don't try to defend the indefensible. If you want to believe in the bible that's fine, just admit that it's unscientific and you don't care. Hey that's why the mormons believe their book is true even though there is no evidence to support it and plenty to refute it.

  • exactly! in Hinduism it is bad to eat beef but good to eat pork. why is it the opposite in desert religions like judaism, x-tianity, and islam?ever notice how Hindu and Wicca peoples never fight with science as to what the truth of discovery is? only x-tians do!

Ramen and may you be touched by the Flying Spaghetti Monster's Noodley Appendage!

  • btw, the death age is getting lower and lower.

  • not in scientifically advanced countries!

because science has given us ample food and clean water, we now live longer healthier lives and children don't die as often as they did before science.

my great-grandpa is 93! how is that lower from his mother's death at 70?

    Ramen

  • We live longer, healthier than any past generation could even dream of, we have send probes beyond our solar system, child mortality rates are fraction of what they were. Sound pretty good to me.

Ah, Hitler card, sorry, but that had nothing to do with evolution, and even if it did, it wouldn't say anything about evolution being true or false.

  • Thank you for the video, ProcInc. Lies, and peoples ignorance is creationists only weapon.

  • That ought to answer you "7 days in Genesis" question.

I post this purely out of interest, and did think your video was worth watching. Have a good day, XxCMxX

  • This video is targeted at creationism and NOT christianity for a start.

Also you mention that a yom is

"1.- Day and Night (24 hours)

    2.- A twelve hour day

3.- ANY PERIOD OF TIME DURING WHICH GOD DOES SOMETHING MIRACULOUS."

so which is it? those are three completely different things.

So you provide an answer which, like all answers bring more questions.

Thanks for watching though but next time you want to post nine boxes I suggest you stick to the subject

  • DID YOU THINK YOUR ARGUMENTS HOLD ANY WATER?

of course Procinc made interesting videos!

if you are an example of "born again x-tians" then I have to think you lot are willfully ignorant.

Ramen, and GO read a book!

  • Lastly, if you had fully researched how the Bible was written, you would know that Genesis was written in Hebrew. The Hebrew word for day is "yom" and the definitions are as follows:

1.- Day and Night (24 hours)

    2.- A twelve hour day

3.- ANY PERIOD OF TIME DURING WHICH GOD DOES SOMETHING MIRACULOUS.

  • FAIL

  • There are things no one can ever explain, such as a human soul. Even emotions are hard to explain, not the chemicals, the actuall emotion. Plus the universe is heading towards a state of disorder. How did it come to be in the first place if everything is always "breaking". There are tons of arguments you can use.

  • "How did it come to be in the first place if everything is always "breaking"."

Snowflakes disagree with you. Large, organic molecules form up spontaneously. So things are not always breaking.

  • "There are tons of arguments you can use."

each of which you put forth are nonsensical. the universe has always had ordered chaos. if you don't understand that, think about it, if you won't try to understand it you are ignorant.

    Ramen

  • It was a struggle to keep power with the pope. You also gave an example from 2 Colossians 2:8. It says: "Beware lest any man SPOIL you through philosophy." You can not deny that there is truth, and that there are lies. The Bible warns us of the very ignorance you talk about. Evolution is an easy way to deny there is a God, rationalize everything, glorify humanity, and be guilt-free.

  • "rationalize everything, glorify humanity"

You say like that is a bad thing.

Evolution, in fact science in general, do not say anything about the god, you can't deny supernatural with something that looks only natural processes. And evolution leading to being guilt-free is just propaganda.

  • how is discovery and learning "ignorance" when real ignorance is only reading one book and deciding you only need that single source and don't want to learn anything else?

evolutionary theory was not set out to be anti god! it ended up showing the natural processes by which everything changes. is not the bible glorifying humanity when it says "made in His image"? whereas evolution shows we are no more better than any other organism, we just have our own part in the circle of life.

    Ramen!

  • Most of the killings of "heretics" were done by the Roman Catholic curch, which is completely different from Biblical Christianity. But that is an entirely different argument. Before you give the impression that "Christians and their faith" killed those with scientific theories and ideas, let me remind you that more Protestants were killed than scientists ever were.

  • "let me remind you that more Protestants were killed than scientists ever were."

Its not exactly a 'who died the most' contest.

The argument is that the discoveries of scientists over religion (whichever one it is) are also blasted in favour of religion.

Just like creationism is doing to fact now

  • And theres the difference between religion and faith. Ask any born-again Christian if its a religion. Catholics of that age killed ANYONE who would suggest ideas that would take power from the pope. Thats the whole idea. Not just scientists, anyone else. And you were wrong by saying that "Christians" killed them.

  • XxCardMagicianxX your comments are ignorant, self rightious and downright creepy and disturbing. Stop poisoning this comment board which such irrationalities as "btw, the death age is getting lower and lower"

You are a closed minded person arguing with intelligent people like Saukko and sariahtea. Stop embarrassing yourself

  • becase they are indoctrinated to think it is not religion. however, many churches get tax-exemption status because it IS a religion!

religion is a sect of people who share belief in the same thing. you all have "faith" and in "jesus". that is the definition of a religion. by the by, there are other religions in the world such as Hinduism and Wicca that are not at complete odds with science. why is it that only christianity wants to demolish understanding and learning?

    Ramen and Blessed Be )O(

  • Its all about salvation and guidance. What would God do with the generations and generations of people who did not have the Bible? Because according to you, only now can we prove scientific facts to be true. How would the people back then know what "stopping earth in orbit" meant?? God made it possible for people of all ages to understand, theres a reason why the Bible keeps being the #1 book through the centuries.

  • "gawd" never stopped the earth in orbit, that would send earth hurtling into the sun for one thing. the bible has been mistranslated and revised over and over again and stuff has been left out in some places and other stuff has been added in other places. do some research instead of spouting what your minister VFX told you to say.

    Ramen!

  • You also do not take in mind that evolution suggests things, racism one of them (a species slower to evolve are to be dominated by the more evolved species), and totally disregards that the bible has been around for over 4 millenia, and that God guided the people then as much as now. Put aside all your arguments for a second, and asume the Bible is true.

  • "and totally disregards that the bible has been around for over 4 millenia"

We all know that, the age of things is unimportant

"You also do not take in mind that evolution suggests things, racism one of them"

It does not suggest nor promote racism in any way. Adaption has nothing to do with superiority or inferiority.

  • evolution is not racist, it is a process by which a species adapts to the environment it lives in. the bible is the racist one, I remember reading somewhere in it that it is against god for interracial marriage to be. why should we put aside our arguments against myth and accept the myth? that is unscientific-as in it makes no sense to do so.

the bible condones slavery, wife beating, and child abuse.

The FSM is against those things, Ramen!

  • The Bible and science DO coincide, and I suggest for anyone reading this to look it up, youll find a lot of information. Whats more, you'll find that the Bible is full of information that we have just recently discovered to be true.

  • "To point out your first flaw, your entire argument is based around the fact that God can be explained through science"

"The Bible and science DO coincide"

that is a contradiction, God must coincide with scientific law for the bible to be scientifically accurate

  • the bible is an ancient storybook and holds noting of value to modern society. we don't need to have the motivation of reward and punishment to be decent people, but those x-tians that do need that are unhelpful to the advancement of our species.

    Ramen

  • 2.- The place a man gets his degree from is highly irrelevent in how that man thinks, and how reliable he is, and it is in fact "ignorant" to say so. 3.- The actions of a said person holds no relevancy whatsoever with whether the Bible is true or not.

  • "2.- The place a man gets his degree from is highly irrelevent in how that man thinks, and how reliable he is, and it is in fact "ignorant" to say so. 3.- The actions of a said person holds no relevancy whatsoever with whether the Bible is true or not."

I fyou want to know how else Kent Hovind thinks (Which I found out but, as the video says, left you to research, which you should have) look him up from somewhere like wikipedia and you'll discover I could have said a lot more

  • Proclnc, To point out your first flaw, your entire argument is based around the fact that God can be explained through science. The very definition of "god" is to be divine, out of this world. Its like a stick figure saying you dont exist because your not a drawing. Secondly, if arguing against creationism, why spend a fourth of the video using Kent Hovind as an argument? 1.- His theories are exactly that: THEORIES.

  • the things Kent Hovind the fucktard says are not theories, they are not even coherent ideas. why do I continually see the word "theory" used in a way that means it is false? Theories start as Ideas about how something happened, and only become theories when supportive evidence is found.

    Ramen

  • Yet another awesome video :) Loved the ending tune. Who is singing that one?

  • "Loved the ending tune. Who is singing that one?"

Tim Minchim- the title of the video is "If you open your mind too much your brains fall out (Take My wife)"

    Glad you enjoyed it
