jesus....the guy was a pseudo-intellectual who made no sense...not even to the nazis themselves....and when he speaks german it sounds like his second language
@randypan71 Your polemical criticism is not just "intellectually". What are your philosophical criticisms? What kind of insights are dissatisfied? And yes, he was a Estonian/Russian German and he had a accent or or better: a dialect.
@jaxxx1975 the fact i am philosophically...as you put it....to rosenberg's ideas are his anti-semitism, anti-slavic views and his master race theories. also his ideas on "positive christianity" which he himself plagiarised from HS chamberlain.....he was was considered too philosophical for the nazi leadership who prefered more practical policies......his writings were considered too intellectual for the german populace as a whole and meandering and absurd by hitler and most leading nazis
@randypan71 Sorry, I thought you were a Nazi, Fascist, or at least far-right winger. Your perspective on things is very different. First of all, Rosenberg said that his model is Chamberlain. And he said, Chamberlain is a must have in all German households. He also said, it is his own evaluation. It was a bestseller..., but yes it was not for "all", but what book is for a whole people? His writing was controversial, because of his religious (anti-Catholic) views. Hitler liked it!
@jaxxx1975 no jaxxx....not a right winger....was in my distant youth.....neither am i a liberal...that term has been hijacked by neo-cons in order to dupe the populace into thinking they are "ok guys".....people look at my profile faves an assume i am a nazi/fascist but i teach history so those programmes are useful to me..his book was a best seller but it was one of the "bibles" of the 3rd reich along with mein kampf..rosenberg to me seems quite befuddled and confused..
@randypan71 I don't think so. "It" >The Myth< is only the uniting of the German Nationalist Myths and the Völkisch Movement. That means the uniting of Hellenic and Roman ideals, the race facts and the positiv christianity.
Rosenberg was a very liberal National Socialist. He was against the Dictatorship. He wrote, that he wanted a Senate, like in the Roman Empire. He was against the exhibition "Degenerate Art". he saved many paintings of Franz Marc. He was against crime against slavic people...
@randypan71 That's all reasons, why I am National Socialist in the tradition of Rosenberg. I can give you only the excitation to read "Großdeutschland. Traum und Tragödie. Rosenbergs Kritik am Hitlerismus. München" "Greater Germany. Dream and Tragedy. Rosenberg's critique of Hitlerism. Munich" I know nothing about a trantlation..., but I hope you can find one. Because you will think different!
BTW:I hope you teach different as in Germany. Example: Only Germany wanted the WW1! ;( ....Ideology!
i teach history as fact. ww1 was wanted by all the major european powers. the fischer theory on pre-1914 german aggression has been mainly discredited now. in fact the naval arms race tensions between britain and germany had pretty much subsided by 1913 as germany concentrated on her land forces against a clash with france and russia.i also teach that the 3rd reich and hitler's anti-semitism were a direct result of ww1.none of this pseudo-psychological rubbish. hitler was a product of ww1.
@randypan71 But the main problems of Rosenberg in the NSDAP was that he was a enemy of Himmler, Goebbels, Bormann and Erich Koch. He also was Minister for the Occupied Eastern Territories, and against violence against slavic people. He wanted be the liberator, and establish a Ukraine independence movement. But Himmler, Koch and Bormann sabotage it. He called the SS: "Himmlers police".
