I guess you did this for the purpose of comparing the sounds with eachother? If you tried to layer those mic signals, the phase would be a nightmare because none of the capsules are coincident.
ok well i've made the final consensus. It was difficult because these are all phenomenal sounding microphones.. And the judgment was made using my voice through each one. Everyone will have different resutls..
1st: U87 - Sounded most smooth or silky, easy on the ears
2nd: TLM127 - Also pretty smooth
3rd: Gemini - very nice sound, just liked the others a little more
4th: Bluebird - very clear, pronounced high end, noticed sibilance more though
haha geez, i havent opened that PT project in forever lol.. but yeah Blue, thats def a good idea.. i spoiled it tho by paying attention to what was what before hand.. I think i may open that beast back up and do a comparison..
Well how did it sound? :) the most mics I've use on a single vocalist was 3 I only used 2 in the end... Ya know it's a great think to do though... line up all the mics patch them in not paying too much attention to which mic is which and listen to each one separately, that way you just choose the one or two mics you think sounds best for that vocalist with out being complacent with the mic itself ; )
does anyone have a audio sample of a blue bottle rocket stage 1 i am thinking about buying one i prefer a male vocal pop/rock sample thanks deciferthis@hotmail.com
