  • Nice. Where did you get the Allman Brothers Soulshine backing track?

  • this is really really good! :) and it's one of my favorite songs

  • Dan, this is great stuff! I'm just now getting into trying to play blues, what kind of effects are you using? I think I hear a little bit of delay, but I'm not sure. You've got GREAT TONE!!!

  • You sound better than the new Lone Allman Brother arrangement.... they should get rid of that kid and put you in his place..... seriously!

  • very very COOOL

  • good

  • sounds good for a young un' LOL! In fact, super sounds coming from everywhere, keep going and growing.

  • @ellienc For a young'un? I wish....lol!!!!

  • hey dan where did you get this backing track?

    great playing and tone btw

  • Hey Dan, are you using paper or cloth surround jbls for your marshall cab...beautiful tones!

  • @clehneis These are the Orange Frame cloth surround D120F. Came out of a Silver Face Twin I believe. I love these speakers!!!

  • @skydog46 Indeed sir. I think I like the cloth surround d120's better.

  • sensitived played indeed, good job. How did you arrange backing tracks ? Keep it up.

  • nice!!

  • soul! les paul! sensitive player! perfect combination.

  • hi, i am from guadalajara, mexico. where you got the backing track of the song Soulshine, the page you can upload your

  • The only reason I am just giving you 2 thumbs up is because I don't have 50 hands to give you the 100 thumbs up

    you truly deserve. Outright Outstanding!

  • Wtf ? Where's your beard ?!

Maan . First time I saw you without it.

  • Ohh it is so wonderful .

    I don't know Allmans well.

Can you recomend me wich their LP is best for begining ?

  • Dude, that tone is making me crazy!! I've been looking for that Betts tone for a while and it sounds like thos JBLD120's are the key. Killer tone and great playing bro. nice work

  • oh yeah, JBL's are a big key to Betts sound!! Thanks for listening my friend!!!

  • Dan,

You playing just keep getting tastier and more soulful. Very nice. I'd love to see you and Skaboosh in a session jam. I'd pay to see that.

  • That'd be great....he's got a lot of talent!!!

  • Are you playing directly into the JTM50? Sound like you may have added a bit of reverb & possiblely a compressor but the compression I'm hearing my also be from youtube.. Anyway, gret classic LesPaul/Marshall sound. And who say's you can't get a good clean sound from a Marshall? It can sing & wail when needed.

  • I added just a little reverb from iMovie...yeah compression is the videocam, YouTube and the amp and guitar themselves.

  • Love this Dan, love it, just can't stop playing it

  • Thanks Jay!!!

  • Great Jay!!! Thank you very much!

  • This sounds very nice! Mind if i get that backtracking you got also?

  • A few nice Stonesy riffs in there...

  • think I missed this one before?! - really nice soulful playing here dan. Funny...literally just before I stumbled upon this I was doing some improv to the same song! - only just discovered it the day before yesterday

  • Right on Les!!

  • Very soulful - especially 4:28 onward.

  • LOL !!! ;p

  • Ha, caught the clam, but otherwise... SMOOTH!!!

  • One of your best brotha!

  • Man you got a sweet sound and awesome feel. Keep it up

  • Excellent job there skydog46 .... where do you get these great backing tracks .... would love to play around with this one...

  • That sounded freekin AWSOME Dude.

Where can I get the backing track?

I think Il'd like to play around with this tune, it's slow enough for my old fingers to keep up with.

  • Send me your email and I will send you the .mp3 BT!

    Thank you!!

  • Check in your PM

    I sent it there

  • Man If You could give me the tabs or make a lesson for this I'd appreciate it.

  • Yay Dan! Great job on an awesome tune! SWEET LP/Marshall tone. Not to mention some SOULful playing! Cheers, T

  • Thanks T for your encouragement and support!!!

  • Great tone! It's as thick as butter.

I'm hoping to catch a Mule show and an Allman show this summer!

You really did a great job of capturing the singing quality of Warren's playing.

  • so so sweet!

  • Wow, the best Les Paul tone I've heard for a while. Great gear but also amazing playing!

  • Well shit, thanks much!!!

  • Hi Skydog,

may I ask you about your 2x12 cabinet. What type is it? Open/closed, a twin like construction or more bluesbreaker style...?

    Best regards

    Alex

  • Hey there. It's Mojotone "Ed A." cab. Specs from a guy on the LPF. It's 3ply Birch voidless and dry as a bone. Sort of like a bigger Marshall 2X12....but this cab also has three removable panels on the back...so it can be totally closed, open, 2/3 open or 2/3 closed (which is how I have it here).

  • Thanks a lot for the details. I really love your tone in this clip!

I guess I listened to this clip a dozen times a like even more now. Perfect tone especially in combination with your playing style.

    Best regards

    Alex

  • I really like the plunky wound strings and sweet "twingy" plain strings with the both pickups. And the neck just purrs when you wind it up. Soulful playing!

  • Thank as always Bigs!!!

  • It must have been nearly 2 years ago I saw your first video-a Peter Green moded LP. I didn't know who Peter Green was, didn't like Les Paul's,and now I play a LP,love Peter Green's music,so maybe I should start checking out The Alman Bro. music too. If I like what you just did,I'm sure I'd love thier mustic too. Cheers

  • Did you like it??

  • That's a yup,good stuff Dan.

  • One of my all time favs. Thanks for posting, love your vids. You make me want to trade my tele for a les paul every time I see a new one!

  • I can never play as great as you

  • sounding good as always!

even though Ive completely drifted away from les pauls I still love the tones you hit. maybe if I could get that myself I wouldnt have converted to the church of single coil. the playing is good too; 5 stars.

  • Thanks very much my friend!!!
