Wouldn't Thraximundar be more useful as a general, since the eldrazi make the opponent sacrifice creatures, and you can also sacrifice eldrazi tokens, all of which boosts him?
Neat deck construction, but I would disagree with the Commander since his abilities really don't seem to match the theme of the deck. One of the best EDH Eldrazi decks I've seen had Mayael the Anima as the Commander. You have to use white mana instead of black, but she does a great job of bringing in the Eldrazi.

There are LOTs of reasons Emrakul's banned from EDH...in my Uril deck I found 5 ways too shortcut him into play....even if he's not hardcast a 15/15 flying Anni 6 is still only beatable by one move...the almighty scoop.

well to be honest it seems like a solid idea and I give you both props for building an eldrazi theme EDH deck. My one problem with it is it can be easily taken down. I play epser colors and on knowing that you had eldarzi in your deck all I would have to do is bribery Emerkul away. i know its upon knowing but given the fact that you use so much in the deck its hard not to assume you don't use at least one of the big guys. so an early steal would seal the game against this specific deck
All is Dust is definitely a staple in my EDH group. C'mon a Wrath effect playable in every deck and crazy shenanigans with Painter's Servant? Sign me up.
Try Primeval Titan, it will fix your mana, it searches the Eldrazi Lands or what ever you want you also can start a severe land destruction, you should also give Fauna Shaman a try Greets Bubbasparxxx12
FYI: you can't just grab cards out of your binder and play them with spawnsire, you can only take them out of the optional 10 card(in EDH) side board...
@crackerz1337 Not true. Only in sanctioned tournaments does that rule apply. In casual play you may grab from the binder due to the wording saying any number you own outside the game. The errata might say sideboard but once again, that really applies in few occasions where u tourney.
its to bad channel is banned now. as far as spawnshire, the general is set asides in a command zone so cannot be grabbed as it grabs from RFG pile and because of no sideboard he is kind of useless other then making tokens to abuse for mana or drawing 2 cards

I actually have A mono green deck that uses eldrazi. It only runs the three legendary eldrazi. Ive won on turn four. had lightening greaves in play and had six green available. played elvish piper, attached greaves giving it haste to use it to put emrakul into play then moved greaves to emrakul to lock down the game. Basicly im saying you dont need multicolor decks to utilize eldrazi.

Eldrazi made me quit EDH, plain and simple. I just left when he did channel and beat my ass. I could do nothing! Just the fear makes me never want to pick up a deck again. @jagwio Skullclamp's +1/-1, draw a card when it dies, ability is not an activated ability, but a static ability(You can't respond to static abilities). The only activated ability on Skullclamp is the actual Equip ability. You could activate the EQUIP cost of Skull Clamp, and sac in response, but since Skullclamp's target is not present for the resolution of... itself, its Equip ability fizzles.You can equip it to a spawn, let it die from the +1/-1 then draw a card, or you can sacrifice it.
When equipped creature is put into the graveyard from the battlefield, draw a card.

Yes, you could activate Skullclamps ability to give your spawn token +1/-1, and in response, Sacrifice the Spawn token for a colorless mana and still draw a card. But fortunately, WotC didn't develop Skullclamp that way. Its broken enough as it is anyways. I hope this helps!
Annihilator is just broken imo in edh atm... just got a chance to test it out tonight i pretty much hate it.. one attack with anything thats annihilator 4+ kills that person pretty much right away they may have 1 turn but after takeing 2 hits you cant recover
In terms of how the Eldrazi have affected our group's EDH play I have found they've been pretty much a strictly negative influence. The set itself is actually awesome, we really like it, but some of the Eldrazi themselves are utterly retarded in EDH and generally not very much fun to play against. For about a week, most games came down to who could cheat their Emrakul into play on turn 3 or 4, or Bribery somebody else's. In general I think they are totally metagame-warping.
The channel + spawnsire should just stay, there are so many combos out there that are just as bad. If you have a combo card + 30 mana don't you usually win the game anyways?

Why no Liliana? She Tutors, Discards, Combo's with Baneful Omen, and is stupid with survival if you can get her ultimate off (if you're playing with spawn that might be possible........though I don't think it'd happen in my meta at least)
No.... in EDH you can have a 15 card side board, that is where the spawnsire would pick eldrazi from, the sideboard though would have to alos be singleton so i guess you should put some changelings in there for an awesome alpha eldrazi strike! (Tom from MTG Radio)
@lifeandllamas At one rules location it states that you can have a 10 card side board in the optional rules. However, the debate happens because there are not currently rules for cards outside the game. There is a good deal of ambiguity. Lots of folks have an opinion, but there are still some gray areas.

@ElrondMcBonk Awesome ideas...we had thought about sneak attack but will playtest these out. I hate losing the ability by not casting the creatures but think the early access to annihilator might make it worth the sacrifice (pun intended)
this is jae-mart from the game academy (in the video). i think that channel with these eldrazi guys is going to be something to look at. even though you can't cast a bunch of them from outside the game, casting an emrakul or a kozilek on turn 2 is very powerful in edh, especially if you're playing one on one. just a thought...
@PoketoMtg bleh...not so hot on Thraxamundar. People love that guy and play him alot locally. He is good but I wanted something more original. I don't think the swarm aspect of the deck is quite enough to warrant white effects. Further, I wanted a deck that could compete against and beat blue decks.
Wall of Omens is the only card that changes up the game that much for me... I was getting really excited for hyena umbra but that one isn't as amazing as I thought it'd be... although it's still good. Lone missionary is cool but I don't know if it's worth using. Soul's attendant lets me get another Soul Warden pretty much, and Survival Cache looks interesting. My general is Orim, Samite Healer.
@Torleep I think Wall is obviously great but it does not seem as game changing as the eldrazi. White might be their weakness though or maybe prison decks :0
@ElderDragonHighlandr I can see where you're coming from on that. All of them but Emrakul can be dealt with, though. Not saying that it's easy, but it's easier than I think most people realize. I pack Swords to Plowshares, Reciprocate, Gaze of Justice, Oblivion Ring, Journey to Nowhere... but for Emrakul I've got nothing! Wait, does the O-ring work on him? If so, awesome.
Sneak Attack? Yes, you don't get the cast ability, but hitting for a ton of damage and annihilating, then shuffling it back into your deck is pretty good. Even with your minor graveyard theme, with Survival and Squee you'll be able to hunt up an Eldrazi every turn. Just survival away Squee on there end step, get him back in your hand during your upkeep, annihilate, shuffle, then Squee again next opponents turn.
when you cast from outside the game you can only get cards from your sideboard, thats the rules on wishes. while EDH has an optional 10 card sideboard, you can still only have 1 of every card between the two. it seems underwhelming.
something i noticed that is very anti-synergistic is all the recursion because most of the eldrazi have "shuffle your entire graveyard into your library when this creature would go to the yard"
my play group has been mulling over the idea of banning all of the annihilator stuff because since they are all colorless the format will start to get flooded with them and become stale
@thundasc I think that these guys are exciting and tech carts like the new Preserver might be solid additions in EDH now. I would play them for about 6 months and see if the environment corrects for it. It typically corrects whatever is going wrong. EDH is pretty great that way.
Аs always, I enjoyed watching this video. RoE is indeed a very interesting set when it comes to EDH, however I'm not too sold on the Eldrazi yet. After the first game, people tend to simply gang up on you and everyone knows that you simply can't win when everyone is against you, starting T1.
I have to agree with the first post here, the trick with the search outside the game doesn't work, unless you have a specific house rule to support it.
WRONG, this is why Wishes arent in EDH anywhere. you will not be able to grab anything with his 20 cost ability. they covered this because of the wishes. funny how you didnt think about the Wishes to think about how Spawnsire works.
Now, the deck looks pretty sweet. I think youre missing Grave Pact and/or the Butcher from WWK for all the tokens. maybe something like Relentless Assault or the enchantment to do that as a activated ability.

Spawnsire of Ulamog's 20 ability only refers to cards that are in your sideboard. And sideboards are part of EDH.

@ElrondMcBonk Awesome ideas...we had thought about sneak attack but will playtest these out. I hate losing the ability by not casting the creatures but think the early access to annihilator might make it worth the sacrifice (pun intended)

this is jae-mart from the game academy (in the video). i think that channel with these eldrazi guys is going to be something to look at. even though you can't cast a bunch of them from outside the game, casting an emrakul or a kozilek on turn 2 is very powerful in edh, especially if you're playing one on one. just a thought...

@Torleep sure...in EDH you get to do lots of cool stuff. I just don't know if you are allowed to use them in a tournament setting

You need a 5 color Ledgend so you can use Thraxamundar and fun white/blue swarm effects.

@PoketoMtg bleh...not so hot on Thraxamundar. People love that guy and play him alot locally. He is good but I wanted something more original. I don't think the swarm aspect of the deck is quite enough to warrant white effects. Further, I wanted a deck that could compete against and beat blue decks.

Wall of Omens is the only card that changes up the game that much for me... I was getting really excited for hyena umbra but that one isn't as amazing as I thought it'd be... although it's still good. Lone missionary is cool but I don't know if it's worth using. Soul's attendant lets me get another Soul Warden pretty much, and Survival Cache looks interesting. My general is Orim, Samite Healer.

@Torleep I think Wall is obviously great but it does not seem as game changing as the eldrazi. White might be their weakness though or maybe prison decks :0

@ElderDragonHighlandr I can see where you're coming from on that. All of them but Emrakul can be dealt with, though. Not saying that it's easy, but it's easier than I think most people realize. I pack Swords to Plowshares, Reciprocate, Gaze of Justice, Oblivion Ring, Journey to Nowhere... but for Emrakul I've got nothing! Wait, does the O-ring work on him? If so, awesome.

Sneak Attack? Yes, you don't get the cast ability, but hitting for a ton of damage and annihilating, then shuffling it back into your deck is pretty good. Even with your minor graveyard theme, with Survival and Squee you'll be able to hunt up an Eldrazi every turn. Just survival away Squee on there end step, get him back in your hand during your upkeep, annihilate, shuffle, then Squee again next opponents turn.

How do the changelings work with the land? The Eldrazi lands only work on colorless eldrazi spells.

when you cast from outside the game you can only get cards from your sideboard, thats the rules on wishes. while EDH has an optional 10 card sideboard, you can still only have 1 of every card between the two. it seems underwhelming.

something i noticed that is very anti-synergistic is all the recursion because most of the eldrazi have "shuffle your entire graveyard into your library when this creature would go to the yard"
my play group has been mulling over the idea of banning all of the annihilator stuff because since they are all colorless the format will start to get flooded with them and become stale

@thundasc I think that these guys are exciting and tech carts like the new Preserver might be solid additions in EDH now. I would play them for about 6 months and see if the environment corrects for it. It typically corrects whatever is going wrong. EDH is pretty great that way.

Аs always, I enjoyed watching this video. RoE is indeed a very interesting set when it comes to EDH, however I'm not too sold on the Eldrazi yet. After the first game, people tend to simply gang up on you and everyone knows that you simply can't win when everyone is against you, starting T1.
I have to agree with the first post here, the trick with the search outside the game doesn't work, unless you have a specific house rule to support it.

WRONG, this is why Wishes arent in EDH anywhere. you will not be able to grab anything with his 20 cost ability. they covered this because of the wishes. funny how you didnt think about the Wishes to think about how Spawnsire works.
Now, the deck looks pretty sweet. I think youre missing Grave Pact and/or the Butcher from WWK for all the tokens. maybe something like Relentless Assault or the enchantment to do that as a activated ability.
