oh my god u youtube belters! who, i say, who has downgraded my comment bad twice, god damn you all, this is the most joyous game ever made, may you all burn in the pits of hell for eterniteeeeeeeee!!!!!!
Cool vid! I used to play this on the ZX Spectrum 48k back in the 80's and I remember a few differences to the MSX version. 1) I don't remember there being a Wafers II minigame on Speccy version. 2) All of the main door choosing screen was visible at once on screen and didn't scroll. 3) There was no funky music throughout the game, just sound effects. 4) RES Q game was a lot harder on speccy vers. 5) 99 Red Balloons only needed one balloon caught to go up instead of two :) 5 Stars and fav'd!
I used to love this as a kid, I first played it on my sisters friends MSX computer & used to borrow the game so often she let me keep it! Awesome concept for a game with mini games and loads of music, thank you Mr Whitaker, I had hours of fun!
This was a very funny game to play. I played it many times and loved it. Did you know there is also slightly different version for the MSX without the hotel stage?
Superb! The memories came flooding back. This MSX version seems practically identical (in terms of both sounds + visuals) to the Tatung Einstein version (which is the one that I played as a kid), so I suspect that the Einstein had similar hardware. I much preferred the Einstein/MSX version to the C64 version, and also it's a pity that this game was never ported to my favourite 8 bit comp: the BBC micro. Anyway, thanks for this video!
