@tap4154 Richards discusses Reed's influence on him and the chord maneuvers he used in the book. Its not neccessarily what Richards plays, but the way he approaches playing that Reed influenced
@marteeen0 The guy who showed him was Bobby Goldsboro, which is almost unbelievable if you've ever heard the hits he had. Look him up here on YT if you're not familiar with him -- songs like "Watching Scotty Grow," etc. Universes away from the Stones and Keith Richards!
very cool thanks man

Well I don't think that's what Keith had on his mind honestly...

@cencor4 I don't know what was on Keith's mind. I haven't read his book yet, and this isn't based on anything I've seen him play.

Thanks. I can't yet stretch that far to play a B6 in the 2nd position.

That's the way Jimmie Vaughan and most of "The Texas Guys" play it, but it does come from Jimmy Reed.

I'm reading Keith Richards' autobio right now, and he just described the "B" trick; that's what brought me here.

I'm glad you guys you are getting some use out of this. I can't remember where I learned it, I think a guitar magazine or book had it tabbed out.

Nice one! Trying to get that through to students can be an uphill struggle.

Keith Richards mentions this lick in his book. He couldn't figure it out until some cat touring w the stones in the 60s showed him.

@marteeen0 I bin reading that too. Not easy to play any chords by looking at someone else playin' 'em from this front view tho
