Personally I have dual manufacturer strategy. I admit, this time around. I am not sure if I want to chance upgrading my 295 machine to the new cards. Had 2 Nvidia cards fail due to heat already (not so bad as I got my money back almost imediately). THen I found out that this card will be hotter. 6 weeks after I installed a driver for my 295 that nearly fried it. Dont know what to do as I am also really angry about the poor ATI drivers. The industry seems to be shedding quality all round

I mean, It'll run... Just be prepared for the necessary heat dissipation and power requirements and higher price premium. The GTX480 was originally planned to have 512 Cores, and was cut to 480 due to problems in the design and yield, so the performance will not be as high as was originally touted.

The cards should work just fine though... unless they end up like some last gen NVIDIA cards and have a high failure rate in addition to this mess.
