  • Turboprop at least (jet turbines). If I ever ran into ownership of a cat and had the money I'd do a (world first?) turboprop conversion.

While I love the radials, I'd rather go with the dependability of modern technology.

Radials were good in the 30's-50's when under military maintinance regimes, but as a private 'airyacht' I cant imagine having to worry about fouled plugs, grumphy carbs or cracked cylinders every other flight.

Really have to love that radial sound, though!

  • how come it never lands in the water? Does it leak?

  • How cool would it be if the cost guard or navy still used these

  • It is not my bird, it is Charlies over at the Wings Over Miami Air Museum. You need to talk to them. I was just a volunteer that got a ride on it.

  • Thanks, you got a contact address or email for me?

  • They'll be able to get the contact information for you.
