They simply want the community to keep thinking that BlizzCon is this exeptional event where exceptional things are happening and revealed.
When Blizz knows that BlizzCon couldn't possibly be as good as it's expected, it's better to not do it at all and keep the community's expectations at a maximum for the next time.

Nothing they wish to announce. We have already been thoroughly educated on MoP, HotS, and D3. All that is left is to finish and release these games. It is probably better they use the time to finish those games rather than hyping them up, the hype is optimal.

Why don't they cancel the WoW Expansion? There are three good things that come from Blizzard:

Diablo
StarCraft
I've never played WoW and never will, but seriously even to me the new expansion looks stupid as hell. What is this? Carebears in Azeroth? The preview video of the expansion looks like a trolling video, how do they expect people to like that shit? It's complete crap. 100%

I quit wow because of the way it went full scrub mode in Wrath, I played all the Warcrafts too and I don't mind seeing Pandaren expanded on - the panels at Blizzcon were promising. There is nothing wrong with bear people in a game with cow people, wolf people, and multiple elves.
Just because I'm female doesn't mean I don't criticise blizzard making bad choices. I do however give credit where it's due.

@iazire The reason why I pre-ordered it last month is that, I was out of work from January 2010-November 2010,then,I've been workin for Big Lots with 6 hours for 3 days from November 2010-December 2010,and now since I've been working for 1 day a week (since January 2011),it took me a while to save up the money that I need for when ever the day it's released because most of my money is gas money for the jeep.My sister does drive the jeep as well,but,I'm the only one who's paying for the gas.....
I am all for them actually putting effort into their products, even if it means they need to cancel blizzcon. For the first time in WoW's reign as king of MMO's it has viable competition. No more skating by with substandard content i.e. cataclysm, which was an epidemic of laziness. I've been a Blizzard fan since '94 and they were putting out 5 star products then. 18 years of experience and an absurd amount of money later, there is no excuse for them not to continue with quality products.
:\ I haven't had a good experience with a new mmo type game since FF11 was released... FF11 was epic! I just hope diablo 3 won't be a disappointment when it is finally released!
I heard the beta for Diablo 3 sucked so no wonder if they rush it cause' it wasn't nearly finished at all the when the beta came out. I know betas are just betas but the beta for Diablo 3 was criminally buggy to be presented for players.
